SEA DUTY -
If your a civilian and not in the Military , great on you , because sea life sucks.. Why? Because every time you go out you do the same crappy long ass drills that make you sick and tired of the sea life.. Unless you are SPECIAL Member..DCCT team.. these guys or girls wear these hates and you assume they are experts , but most of the time they are wanna be instructors who never fought a fire or had has the experience you do , but because they score well on exams and well liked and play the politic game they get this special treatment. Its kind of scary to think if the real thing broke out.. What would happen? I mean ,, A real fire is no joke , I have witnessed a few in my time and when the real thing goes down, you start realizing , this is freaking serious and you get nervous , I mean,, your in the middle of the ocean.. and Its you and the ship.. No one can help you,. But anyways,.. back to sea life.. You go through all these drills and pushed to the limit when it comes to what you know and what you have to know. Its a rough life at sea, we have crappy meals , you feel woozy or little off. I mean the constant rocking of the ship wears you down. IT makes you tired, so sailors try to get as much sleep possible during these times.. Personally I hate being at sea,, its lost time,. the time away from family , fiends. your stuff , your real bed.. At sea , you sleep in a coffin rack.. yes,, they call it that because its racks stacked on top of each other and it looks like a coffin. You are sandwiched between 6 other sailors and you have to make a schedule when to get up or go to sleep. Why? Because 6 grown ass men changing is,, not cool or comfortable.. But some how , sailors figure out a way. But it does suck , when you have a dirt bag" BASICALLY that's someone that doesn't take to showering or washing themselves and sleep in dirty sheets,. Oh by the way ,, bed bugs can arise when dirt bags are filthy,, something I have never dealt with until now.. I mean I have been on some rough sea commands.. But this one is the undisputed champion in dirt bagness, hood lums,. drug addicts , alcoholic's, restricted personnel , DUI;s , domestic violence.. weird incidents like jumping off the ship in port or out to sea.. Its a weird vibe,, at first I thought all the talk about bad vibes , were that just disgruntled sailors , but on this platform. I see even the best of the best or most motivated people show no energy for this command. What to do ? Well , you need to take it on and deal with it , but it sure is frustrating when you do your best and make a honest mistake and suddenly you are the dip shit.. While others get away with it? In other words it makes for bad morale and a sense of frustration on board. I wish , their were days that was drama free , but it seems no matter what? It seems we destined to deal with haz mat spills, trash around the ship and broken equipment. I see broken lights and dangerous conditions on this ship daily and , though its reported , its still there! Am I afraid? Sure I am, I mean a ship is A dangerous thing , you have sharp equipment m, heavy objects and tight spaces, with out proper lighting or proper equipment , people can get hurt. But we go on and make every effort to enjoy our lives on board. But one thing is certain, sea life is not for everyone, if you want a stable , drama free atmosphere,, than don't go to sea.. Its the most harsh , and stressful activity you will ever have to deal with. You are placed under strict guidelines with unrealistic goals and expectations, and if your not mentally or physically strong , then you get disrespected.. Like I said , i have never felt more humiliation or frustration , and even hatred then I have ,, being on board.. But we go on, we have to , we have a nation to protect , a country to be proud of and enemies to kill! I know that sounds barbaric , but think about it,, we are out there to scare people and need be , to kill them ! I know, My religious views have taken a back seat because of the career I do, I cant see both working side by side.. and because of that I have developed a cold heart , a mean streak towards our enemies and anyone else that questions our loyalty or desire to fight. Sea life is a hard thing to explain, in words because , you have to go through it to really feel it.. and once you do , many of us decide its not the life I want and some develop a passion for it , but its a tough life to live. Sure , after 20 or 30 years , you have a retirement pay and benefits,. But what about time ? The missed birthdays , the missed get to together , the bonding with kids and wife.. Time is something you can get back. once it is gone , it's gone.. Money lost can be made in time. But time with family or those precious moments .. are forever gone.. Like i said , Is it worth it? In retrospect , I say No, I hear my family always say " I gonna miss you,, and to be honest I feel the same way, but I put on that macho , Gung ho Navy image of .. I'm good to go,.,. But we all know all humans get lonely.. and because of that Sea duty is not for everyone, and at times the drills and exercises we do ,, are just that exercises in futility , in non sense , especially when the drills and exercises are so routine , so boring and tiring. But it does kill time.. and to think of it.. Those times at sea is lost time, a time when you could be doing something with your family and friends.. That's why.. to go career you have to trick your mind into enjoying it, something I have seen many of my fellow shipmates , including myself do on a daily basis.. For those who have done the sea deal... great,, for those who are about to do it, Good luck , and for those lucky to not do it.. Thank god.. Because ,, sea duty is a life many of us hate with a passion, but its a necessary evil to get to shore duty , or in some cases retirement.. Until my next blog,.. Take care!! Another crazy week Underway.. Jan 25, 2012..
Wow, another crazy week of inspections, bitch sessions,, lectures , threats and more work.. In all my years in the Navy I have never experienced the crazy weeks and happenings on this platform. I mean I see drug issues , I see Mental instability , emotional rants and I also see no one likes to step up. Or at least I don't see the New blood navy , doing what I had to do back in the day.
Back in the day , when I was ordered or voluntold to do something , Guess what ? Yup I did it, whether or not I was good or not I stepped up.. I don't see that in Today's Navy, too laid back , or I don't care attitude it what kills me.. Not just physically , but mentally and emotionally. Its draining , but Guess what Every freaking day I get up and prepare for the next day bull shit.. Its funny when I was on Shore duty, I was tired of the bull shit games and politics , well folks,, At sea it's a circus of baby sitting , policing , yelling , checking up on personnel, etc.. Its exhausting and to be honest , Today's Navy is losing and continue to lose great people. Either through PERFORM TO SERVE , or EARLY RETIREMENT , HIGHER TENURE AND of course retirement and folks just giving up on the dream.. I have seen too many good people be told to go home and the ones left are clueless , ass kissing , brown nosing jerk offs.. Well Navy , their is gonna be a time your going to realize the good people you let go , are actually the workers and people who care .. But that's always been the trend the navy likes to follow so bear with it.. The Navy is there , but it seems for alot of us , if you don't play the games , the politics,.., you don't win.. instead you get more work.. and more stress. Is it worth it for a retirement or retainer check.. so to speak.. because after 20 years you are placed in fleet reserve for 10 years before its totally official.. But look at all the years of drills, and exercises and evolutions, head aches , and stomach issues and sleep problems.. No one is immune to that stress , but we are engages in it every day of our lives at sea. Its not enough to deal with separation anxiety , and the thoughts of family and friends and their issues, but we have to deal with your supervisors issues or desires,, and if you don't fit that mold.. You are an outcast.. I don't mind being questioned , but to be honest it gets old when you are constantly stressed or threatened , the human psyche can only take so much.. Perhaps the reason for so many DUI's and Domestic Violence and substance abuse issues on board.. Is it right too even mention these things? Whose to say? But maybe someone , will hear our pleas for help and that things will change. I hope so , because the Navy needs strong leaders that are going to change the direction of today's fighting force. In order to be a good leader you need to relate to your peers,, alot of times I see strict orders without regard of other experienced peoples ideas. But that's the Navy , and it's always going to be a stressful job.. I mean you deal with expensive equipment and classified information and weaponry , that can kill and save lives.. The Navy isn't for everyone , but if todays Navy continues to stress out and create a intolerable work space , then it's heading for a hard awakening.. I'm not saying Today's Navy , will surrender , I still have faith in beating up any country out there , but I also see a Price to pay for such stressful demands and conditions. It's a different world we live in today and the Navy has changed because of all the technological advances , but you also have to care for its people , because without great leaders and great followers , the Navy and all its equipment ,, doesn't mean jack shit!! Its the people in place and the ones running the shows that determines success anywhere in life.. Yes another crazy week of insane dead lines and last minute demands and orders that lead many of the young sailors wondering " What have I done?" But after that crazy week underway,, We have many more weeks and months and years of this life.. Its like the old saying " THE NAVY EITHER MAKES YOU OR BREAKS YOU..!!" unfortunately , I have seen too many broken sailors on this platform.. and Perhaps.. someone in the higher ranks will wake up and smell the roses.. But until then , expect more incredible stories about this ship and how the stress has affected morale and the well being of everyone.. UNTIL MY NEXT BLOG.. KEEP THE FAITH!! THE SOURCE @ 2012

GIANTS AND PATRIOTS ARE FORTUNATE .. OR LUCKY??
GIANTS AND PATRIOTS ARE FORTUNATE ..OR LUCKY ??
This was a exciting if not heartbreaking Championship Sunday. The Niners and ravens put up a great defensive stands and in should of won , could of won.. but guess what ? This is the NFL.. NOT FOR LOSERS.. To be a Champion , it takes more than playing great offense and defense , it also takes great special teams play , great coaching and great plays by big time players. That's why the Champions win under stressful moments.. That's why we call them champions. Because under the most pressure , the most stress , Champions prevail, they overcome and they don't make mistakes in crucial moments. And True Champions when given the opportunity . they take advantage.
The Patriots and tom Brady had a off night, Tom was off , perhaps that heavy pass rush, forcing him to leave the pocket , caused many inaccurate throws. He wasn't his best. But guess what, That horrible and questionable defense stepped up and they forced mistakes and pressure. The Dropped ball in the end zone by Lee evans was because the defender's never gave up and knocked the ball out of his hands... True champions like Jerry Rice , or Lynn Swann , don't drop those passes. The patriots when they needed to make a stand they did.. Plus it helps when Silly Billy misses a chip shot field goal.. But that field goal would only tie the game.. If it was me.. I have seen to many GAMES where a skinny kicker chokes under pressure and misses that kick. If I'm gonna lose I rather lose with Tom Brady or Eli Manning passing the ball , then trust a kicker to tie the game .. I like the killer instinct mode especially on the road against probably the best home team of this present era. If you want to be the best you have beat the best, and as good or great as the Ravens are.. They didn't close the deal..
Bottomline// Tom Brady despite his worst playoff game in years , still finds a way to win.. and chances are he wont have another in the Big game.. But That's Tom Brady his previous 3 SUPERBOWL wins were close nail biters.. Tom Brady knows how to win the close games.. Fortunate or Lucky.. I say fortunate for the dropped pass and missed field goal,,, because the dropped pass would ended the game.. But Whats if's are for losers and the patriots don't play that game..
The Giants were getting man handled and Eli looked flustered throughout the game.. But when Mo William's commits or is forced to commit those mistakes.. The Giants took advantage, and that's what true champions do.. The Giants defense may have not won the game , but they kept it close enough for a mistake or two in this case to help them win a brutal tough game. Lucky or fortunate? I say Fortunate that instant replay reversed the muffed punt and great special teams play knocking that ball out of the punt returners hands.. Nothing is guaranteed in this game. We all figure everything is normal , out there!! But you have grown men running full speed making contact at all angles , in fact its amazing you dont see more of those types of plays. But for the Niner fans. its devastating, its heart breaking and its a feeling charger fans know .. recall 2006- THE LT year where the Bolts had home field advantage and committed numerous fouls and turnovers before losing a game they controlled throughout the whole day. But pain is common among fans that watch this game. We all take losses so personal and at times I wonder why? The fans continue to come back every year and succumb to that stress and emotions of cheering your home team.. That's why we are fans.. We are crazy , loyal , passionate and often times delirious about our teams and players.
Bottom line" The Giants under the most stress , come on late , took advantage of mistakes and now meet their arch arrivals the Patriots.. in what will be a classic match of two great quarterbacks and two great old school coaches and teams with loyal and passionate fans and a history that will make this superbowl fanatastic.. Tom Brady will have a chance to win his 4th SUPER BOWL.. and tie the immortal hall of famers Joe Montana, and terry Bradshaw.. and Eli will have a chance to out do his elder brother Peyton , with a SUPERBOWL win at PEYTONS PLACE -- IN INDY.. The storylines are set ,. Manning vs. BRADY.. COUGLIN VS. BELICHICK . PATRIOTS VS. GIANTS.. GREAT DEFENSE VS. GREAT OFFENSE... HISTORY VS. HISTORY.. REVENGE ,. REDEMPTION.. CHAMPIONS.. I see a great game and drama till the end.. and To pick against Tom Brady is crazy. The man wins big games. He has the most come from behind wins during this era.. He is accurate , mobile and has that desire to win.. They wanted the Giants more than any other team in the NFC.. What better way to redeem themselves from that HEARTBREAKING loss years ago.. This game is History in the making.. Tom Brady will either tie those two greats or Eli will surpass his famous brother and perhaps start his own legacy and era.
Bottom line.. We will witness a historic game and I expect big plays from all sides of the ball and the team that makes the least mistakes and the star players come out.. will win this game.. My prediction.. EXCITEMENT , HISTORY AND MEMORIES for all football fans.. I know these are the east coast teams that are arrogant and proud and boastful , and why not? NFL CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND NFC & AFC JAN 22, 2012. A Charger fan perspective..F
JAN.22, 2012 CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY - A CHARGER FANS PERSPECTIVE..
This is the day we find out who goes to the most watched event in the World. But for True San Diego Charger fans , this is a who cares championship.. Why?
The the NFC Championship has two teams most Charger fans cant stand or remember the history of these teams.. The Niners winners of 5 Superbowls,, embarassed , yes embarassed the Boss Ross , Stan Diego Humphries , Natrone Means , Junior seau , led team.. were pounded and scored on more than a hooker in Thailand , after a liberty port by Marines.. lol.. Ok.. maybe not that bad.. But the game was over before you could get your seat warm.. The Chargers then like always got rid of probably one of thier beloved Coaches Bobby Ross , Why> The GM Bobby Beathard had perosnality issues with him.. Sound eerily familiar Bolt Fans.. Well after that , The Bolts drafted Ryan Leaf , over Peyton Manning .. Well history tells us what a dum move that was.. The Colts have been one of the most successful franchise's , while the Chargers had a 1-15 season and had a merry go around of coaches.. and the laughing stocks of the NFL.. Because of the Ryan Leaf rants and fall out.. Which led to the next disrespect from the Manning family... The 2003 draft The Bolts drafted Eli, figuring we wont make that mistake passing over another Manning.. But...
Eli . stated with Archie Mannings prodding said. " I will not play for San Diego!" So the Bolts have to trade picks with the NY GIANTS , and switch picks.. We get Philip Rivers and they get Eli, at first it looked like the Bolts got the better quarterback. Rivers and the Bolts are 2-0 against the Eli Manning led team since that time.. But as time had gone by.. Eli has won a SUPERBOWL,, Beating the nearly perfect Patriots years ago.. and Has a great chance to win another SUPERBOWL with a win against the niners and possibly face the patriots again in the SUPERBOWL..
The pick here is the Best Road team in this years playoffs.. The Giants will beat the first time championship appearance by the unpredictable Niners and the Alex Smith ( San Diegan - attended Helix High with Reggie Bush and admitted Charger fan ) This will be a close and exciting hard hitting game.. and turnovers and ball control will decide this game.. GIANTS WIN A CLOSE ONE..
THE AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.. RAVENS VS. PATRIOTS..
The Patriots are one of the most successful teams in the past decade or more.. Tom Brady and his Patriot's have won 3 SUPERBOWLS. Another win by Brady will tie him with legends of the past SUPER BOWLS.. JOE Montana and Terry Bradshaw have 4 RINGS. In my opinion, he's the best of those two hall of famers.. because Brady has a team with a shaky or terrible defense and no hall of fame receivers during those SUPER BOWL WINS.. THE NINERS AND STEELERS had hall of famer players all over their rosters.. GREAT PLAYERS MAKE QUARTERBACKS AND HEAD COACHES LOOK LIKE GENIUSES..
BACK to " WHO CARES FACTOR?' THE Patriots or the " CHEATRIOTS" have not won a SUPERBOWL since that SCANDAL,.. and to be honest until they win one , I dont hold those SUPERBOWLS , IN HIGH REGARD.. As for die hard Charger Fans.. They hate the Patriots.. Why? Rodney Harrison,, , Wes Welker , Junior Seau. went on to have success , despite the Bolts GM. Termed them" OLD AND PAST THIER PRIMES!!" Well guess what these guys have won SUPERBOWLS , AFC CHAMPIONSHIPS AND even stopped the Bolts opprotunity to go to the SUPRBOWL.. RECALL MICHAEL TURNER in the 2007 ACF CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IN NEW ENGLAND.. MY HOME IS MY CASTLE!! INSPIRED BY PATRICE....
MY HOME IS MY CASTLE..
For alot of us , we work hard , study hard , made promotions earned money , save money , bought beautiful cars , homes.. and like most hard working , law abiding citizens we respect one anothers homes and property.. When I hear news events or stories about home owners or citizens fighting crime or defending their property . I applaud it.. In my book, kid or not whatever action you do or don't do I hold you accountable.. You know the rules or the consequences.. In the military you are given rules and standards to adhere to.. Either you do it, or you get punished with restriction is like jail time and loss od pay and some cases loss of rank.. and the most drastic being kicked out etc..
The same hold true in the civilian sector.. I have no qualms about home owners defending their property. Many times I have chased away kids , yelled at kids and threatened to kick their ass and their low life parents. I cant stand disrespectful , rude , and spoiled kids. They have no respect for others and their belongings. they deserve whats coming to them. If it means a 30 odd six blasted into ones face so be it.. I know , alot of you are saying they are kids for goodness sake.. Sure,. but when I was a kid and i screwed up.. Papa would beat the crap out of me. Sure I didn't like it. but it also taught me.. that if I messed up I would face the belt.. Today's kids.. go unchecked , go unsupervised , go wild.. As for the law abiding God fearing people who love their castles and all the hard work that went into maintaining a beautiful home.. We cants stand idiots that think it's funny to mess wit people things. I know its not neighborly to be rude or threatening , but I don't make myself approachable in my neighborhood. I practise my martial arts with swords , knives and fighting sticks in my garage , but I also clean my guns i there just to make those people who do walk around looking for soft targets ,, That I'm not one of them. I take my home as my sanctuary my castle my personal space, and if you invade it with your dogs shit on my grass , or your junk advertisements, I find offense to that. Its called respect , but in today's fast , inpatient me , me, generation.. I don't see that same level of class we all grew up .. But.. word of caution.. There are many of us . that wont hesitate to teach you Justice.. and Street justice.. or messing with ones family.. Jail or what , you mess with my family, for whatever reason,., I will hunt you down.. and that goes with my house.. I know it's a material possessions, , That's true,, but like my friend Patrice and others I find any disturbance to our homes as a intrusion and violation of my personal space.. As for those who have kids, or about to have some,, Be good to them and teach them well. Because I would hate to see any kid get punished by angry home owners , especially Military folks,. who are paid to kill for their country.. We Military deal with enough stress and bull shit in our careers , and to deal with it in our private lives,, heaven for bid those kids or parents that want to challenge us.. Now , if I'm chosen on a Court case , dealing with such violations I will side the home owner defending their life liberty and their pursuit of happiness. My home is my castle and like the Knights of the round table days , to the guardian angels of today.. I will defend my family and its belongings with whatever I have , and with the most brutal force I can muster to defend my Home and family life.. These are not only words or threats but a promise I would bet my life on that many of you all feel or think that way but don't want to admit it.. But that's ok,., that's why we have the defenders in each neighborhood who love a good fight and don't run away from them.. be thankful for these warriors and praise them and wish them well, because the life or property they protect could be yours!! This was the most talked about game , the most hyped up game of this weekend.. And.. the Brady bunch crew got this one .. very easy.. But then again we saw this weeks ago at Denver. Did we expect anything different? Well I did pick Denver tebows. but then again.. I also Pick the Chargers to win the AFC worst division at the beginning of the year. Sure Brady set records in passing and most yardage and point scored in a playoff game,.But once they got that lead and the College option Denver tebows get behind it was predictable.. I must say all the comments from football fans.. Take Brady out.. Why? That's why the Patriots win Super bowls.. They kill you , show no mercy and have guts.. Unlike yes.. unlike the San Diego Chokers opps I mean Chargers coach Nervous Norv Turner.. When you are in a play of game you stuck it to that team,. Made them upset,, Make a statement.. Take no prisoners.. Sure . People will say.. The Pats have no class and they rub it in.. Hello! This is football. not basket ball or baseball,, or even Soccer.. This is a real mans sport.. In fact people suffer life long injuries and early deaths occur because of the long term effect of this manly game. This is the most cut throat sport

The Pats defense has been horrible .. But they did step up tonight..and if they can play any where near that , They will make another trip to the Big Game.. And yes,, They can win it all!! I know alot of people around the world don't want to hear that , but that's the bottom line.. They have one of the best qbs in the league,, and a genius coach that can make average players play very good and very good players great and great players play super....I know the Ravens have the best defense in the AFC. but on the road , I see the Patriots beating that team...
Now for the NFC side. The niners played very well and beat a outstanding offensive team.. But the niners defense played a early role by getting a quick lead and controlling the game,. The Packers will beat the Giants which will set up the Packers vs. Niners and as much I like Alex Smith and his great defense.. I see the Packers winning at home ... and facing the other high scoring team ,, The Patriots.. and that's what the NFL wants, two of the highest scoring teams ever , and two of the best qbs,, in the game and perhaps in NFL history,, playing in probably the highest scoring SUPER BOWL EVER.. But Lets see what the Packers do ,, remember,, injuries , turnovers,, and schemes can change everything. But I see the Packers vs. Patriots .. with the winner going to be.. ?? Not yet.. Drew Brees had a terrific season and Tim Tebow also did great things.. and Next year I see bot of them do well under a full mini - camp and pre season, and get better acquainted with their offensive weapons.. NFL PLAYOFFS JAN 14-15 2012- ROUND II
NFL PLAY OFFS JAN 14-15,2012 -ROUND I RECORD = 2-2 , ROUND II
Last week all the home teams won their games. Perhaps their is home field advantage? I would rather think the Better defenses and error free football and great decision making or managing of the game by the winning teams quarterback decided the games. This has been a unrealistic year so this weekend is UPSET WEEKEND? MY PICKS IN BOLD PRINT!!
JAN 14- SATURDAY
SAINTS VS. 49ERS - The Saints at home are incredible , but on the road and making a cross country trip to the Bay area.. I see a rough and tumble hard hitting game that the Saints don't like to play. The Niners will use Gore and pound that saint defense into submission. The plan is to keep Brees and company waiting on the sideline getting tired of waiting for their turn at the ball. The Niners need to score TDS when they are in the Red zone and use that clock and make no mistakes. It wont be a pretty game , but I see Alex Smith , San Diego raised and rejuvenated quarterback ready to set the record straight , He is a NFL quality quarterback and the reason for slow progression in his career is too many offensive coordinators.. I see the niners upsetting the heavily favorite and feel good story , but the old school style will tame the arena league type of football.
Broncos Vs. Patriots - THE TIM TEBOW SHOW.. I know he's not a real qb , he's lucky , he's been fortunate , but guess what that defense is suffocating and they can beat the patriots, remember these Patriots have not fared well in the playoffs and sense the cheating scandal.. spy gate ,, the Pats have not won anything? That wonderful season undefeated until they met the Giants , in my humble opinion still bothers them or haunts them. The pats did beat the Broncos earlier thanks to turnovers and Tebow mental mistakes, but this time around I see a tougher game and the Broncos will expose the leagues worst defense next to the packers. Tom Brady is great , but he will be pressured and hit all day and when the game gets into the later stages, Tebow and the Broncos defense will wear down the once and mighty patriots. This may be a low scoring even boring game until late where the Broncos and the Tim Tebow will pull off another upset of the year and the feel good story or the tebow train keeps rolling. RAVENS- The texans have played inspired football despite losing thier franchise quarterback, but sorry Texans your going against one of the best defenses in the league and at home The ravens are money undefeated.. 8-0. They will be pumped up and ready for the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME which they could be hosting if Tim Tebow pulls off another Miracle finish. I see the Ravens actually winning this game easily and probably the least competitive game of this weekend. Arian Foster will make it fun, but as the Texans fall behind and turn to TJ's passing to win, his lack of experience and crowd noise will cause many mental mistakes and turnovers..
GIANTS VS. PACKERS - The Giants have a very good defense and if they can pressure the packers and get Rodgers flustered , this could happen. But I don't see that happening, instead I see a low scoring game with Rodgers making enough plays to win this close tight and exciting game. I feel the Packers offensive line will protect Rodgers and their defense will cause Eli to make a few mistakes and of course Rodgers and the Packers will take advantage.. Thus bringing the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TO LAMBEAU against one of the best defense's in the league.. Best offense vs. best defense.. what a match up?

Last week all the home teams won their games. Perhaps their is home field advantage? I would rather think the Better defenses and error free football and great decision making or managing of the game by the winning teams quarterback decided the games. This has been a unrealistic year so this weekend is UPSET WEEKEND? MY PICKS IN BOLD PRINT!!
JAN 14- SATURDAY
SAINTS VS. 49ERS - The Saints at home are incredible , but on the road and making a cross country trip to the Bay area.. I see a rough and tumble hard hitting game that the Saints don't like to play. The Niners will use Gore and pound that saint defense into submission. The plan is to keep Brees and company waiting on the sideline getting tired of waiting for their turn at the ball. The Niners need to score TDS when they are in the Red zone and use that clock and make no mistakes. It wont be a pretty game , but I see Alex Smith , San Diego raised and rejuvenated quarterback ready to set the record straight , He is a NFL quality quarterback and the reason for slow progression in his career is too many offensive coordinators.. I see the niners upsetting the heavily favorite and feel good story , but the old school style will tame the arena league type of football.
Broncos Vs. Patriots - THE TIM TEBOW SHOW.. I know he's not a real qb , he's lucky , he's been fortunate , but guess what that defense is suffocating and they can beat the patriots, remember these Patriots have not fared well in the playoffs and sense the cheating scandal.. spy gate ,, the Pats have not won anything? That wonderful season undefeated until they met the Giants , in my humble opinion still bothers them or haunts them. The pats did beat the Broncos earlier thanks to turnovers and Tebow mental mistakes, but this time around I see a tougher game and the Broncos will expose the leagues worst defense next to the packers. Tom Brady is great , but he will be pressured and hit all day and when the game gets into the later stages, Tebow and the Broncos defense will wear down the once and mighty patriots. JAN 13, 2012 FRIDAY THE 13TH.. INSPIRED STORY FROM SOMEONE I KNOW..
Jan 13, 2012, or Friday the 13th, started out a good day , I mean I woke up went to work, usual drama there, told to be careful , told the liberty issues and of course the requirements needed to get into compliance.. But how come ? Yes Me,, how come when I want the simplest things done, they always have complications. Like a simple request chit m just needs to be approved and run up the chain of command, but because something I have no control over it gets kicked back to me. What upsets me , is the one that wrote up the request informed me its good to go. But it seems no matter whatever I do anything, They the higher ups find the littlest thing to throw it back. I mean I have no qualms or issues but it seems like this is cycle that has followed me my whole career. Is is because I'm a smart ass and I make jokes my peers find funny , but the higher ups don't.. ? Why ? Because they are so concerned about image and looking bad or appealing to the crowds,,, Do they realize they will get more respect by leading by example than by demanding respect. I love to earn respect , and you do that by treating people properly making sure things are explained and things are getting done. Do I get upset , Sure , But I don't demean people or make life harder than it has too. But it seems , where ever I have been civilian or military it seems I rub people the wrong way. I hear to laid back , too friendly , to relaxed. But bottom line,.. the job gets done , But in the Military ,, you have to have that perception of leadership , authoritarian , in control. It just bugs me , that people seem to go out of their way to hurt me or make life unpleasant. But like I have for so many years I take it and go on,, and I have too, and my advice to younger sailors or any military.. You need to just take it , but if you feel you are being mistreated or such, you need to document things. KEEP A LOG, with times and dates,, Because it may not totally save you , but it will tell a story for whatever actions to take in the future. In addition , by keeping such log, you can analyze what triggers those people. Action... Avoid those situations. I know , i have a bad temper and when its lit I say or do things that are hurtful , truthful and many times damaging to my military bearing and perception. Its tough to shake off perception. Its the way of the world. But on this day , everything was doing great until the end.. My request has to be redone and I have some explaining to do with the originator of the request. I'm not upset about the small admin technicalities , I'm more upset that it had to wait until the end of the day, But like anything in life that's worth pursuing , you need to reexamine yourself and do it again. But it does get frustrating.. I see alot of that in the young sailors,, the anger , the in patience , the frustration on how things are done. But that's the nature of the beast , "In order to get along you need to go along!" But at times when you do follow that concept those in charge develop- a complex that everything they say is the golden rule.. They feel that any argument or suggestions on how to do things equals a lack of leadership or knowledge. The Rule by intimidation , is often used in the Military to cover up flaws or weaknesses in ones personality or leadership style.. The faster we realize their is alot of insecure leadership that can learn from the younger crowd, I not so high and mighty to think someone younger may know something about anything and I can use that. A smart leader listens, decides and makes the appropriate actions regarding any matter. A foolish one sticks to what they know and how they feel things should be done. My day was productive until the last minutes and news that I have to go around and get this thing done. One thing I know I gonna make sure everything is covered and that any questions or concerns that may come up be rectified and clarified so that next week the request can finally hit its intended destination.. Haze gray and underway.. Jan 2012...............
Let me say this being underway never gets easy , no matter its your first time or last time or what? One week , two weeks a month 6 months 9 months.. It seems every sea adventure is that. I've been in the Navy where boilers have broke down,, getting towed back to the pier , I have seen fires , had to fight them, flooding etc.. Theres always something going on.. But on this ship right off the bat , we have problems , flooding , electrical issues , leaks, I mean its a old ship , but the mighty crew is creative and hard working , but don't you ever think , When is enough a enough. This week went by so slow, it was the usual cleaning stations and inspections,. and of course lectures on ship board life and what is in store for the crew. But whatever the case , it never gets easy or you never fully get used to it. In my case you tolerate it , but its hard for those with new Born's and new attractive wives at homes, and I'm sure its tough on those wives too. I mean their husbands or wives , are in a stressful and dangerous environment , we deal weapons, bombs. fork trucks.. heavy objects. hazardous materials etc. At any time and on this ship it seems we get all the action you can ask for.. Is it normal on other ships around the world or other navy's.. But I will say this, I have no doubt we are the best trained and best equipped Navy around the World and I would bet my pay check we can and will beat any Navy. Its sounds conceited , but the training and experience we go through on a daily basis, keeps us sharp and ready. We don't like the fire drills , or the security alerts or the weekly medical training , but when the shit hits the fan.. I have faith in most of the crew. But then again we do have the dirt bags the losers that need to be weeded out so to speak.. And I have seen the worst of the worst, and its good the Base police,. NCIS , Master of Arms and any informants we have turnover this scum bags.. I know that sound harsh to use such terms. But think about it we need a great team and a solid team to fight the enemy , everyone on this boat has a job and we do it well. Despite the degrading or harsh treatment , I like how this crew works together, I know its easy to criticize people . but when things went bad this week, we all responded effectively and quickly. But that's been the case through out my journey in the Navy.. WE ALWAYS COME THROUGH!! But I also hate the times when we get extra work , extra stress and harsh conditions on the ship. What are harsh conditions,. like rough seas, hot weather , broken toilets or urinals. electrical issues , computer issues... smells that are so bad it like your walking through shit,, I mean their are parts of the ship I hate walking through because of those awful smells.. But you do it.. I wonder if you civilians were exposed to such conditions , if you could last a underway period or a deployment. Its a tough life and you need passion and desire to pursue this life. Especially now .. The Navy only retains the best and even those are severely stressed and stretched to the limit. The Navy is unforgiving , it doesn't care what you did in the past , it's what have you done for me lately ? It's always been that way, whether you like it or not. You are as good as your last action. Unfair.. ? Yes it is , that's why for those who want this life , you have to be positive , self motivated and a Little bit crazy , as in fearless , and not afraid of unscheduled and unexpected events,. if your looking for a normal routine in a career, The Navy is not that.. As for under ways.. its a tough thing to do and I endure because I learned how to control my emotions and stress , how? Laughing , telling stories,, watching movies,, reading , writing ,. music , working out. But most of all thinking about My family that misses me and loves me.. Without that thought or Love , I would not continue with the Navy.. haze gray and underway.. its a old term used to describe one of the hardest stresses in navy life.. The Sailor learns to adapt to this lifestyle, and takes advantage of liberty .. time to relax, play , sleep , do what makes you happy.. Because under ways are a long , and ardours act that has many activities and stressors we have to deal with.. Their never enough time for qualifications,. training , drills and exercises, and never enough time to rest or get the jobs done. Their always new projects , inspections , exercises that need to be attained.. But like True Sailors we bear and grin and go on.. Its the Navy Life we all have chosen for 2 or 4 0r 6 years, or longer for us " Lifers" .. Word to those never been to sea , expect the time of your life and don't get disillusioned with sea life.. Its a necessary evil that needs to be done to ensure peace and freedom around the world.. When you hear the term " Haze Gray and underway !" You will realize that its a term that sailors for ages have and will always use as way to describe the life at sea.. Unforgiving ... adventurous and unpredictable .. But if you hang tough , the life you lived will offer life long benefits , like retirement pay , discounted food and merchandise privileges and of course the camaraderie of experiencing events that others only can imagine or read or watch a movie about.. Charger fans .. chill out!! Inspired by Jeanette..
CHARGER FANS CHILL OUT !!
The season is over , and we are upset , disappointed , devastated , no ., You have to admit our team is exciting to watch , thy have the coolest uniforms.. SUPER HERO LIKE.. Lightening bolts on the pants.. Show offs out team is.. We also have the Best throwback Jerseys ever!! THE POWDER BLUES OR POWER BLUES FOR DIE HARDS.. We also have the best reality show during the football season.. Watching Rivers scream and shout at opposing teams is classic.. And Norv, with his genius play calls are second to none. But you must all remember football , like anything is life is unpredictable.. If there was a science or formula for success , don't you think one team would dominate forever! Well The Patriots or the Cheatriots , never won a Superbowl, after the spy gate , filming other teams plays,, Just a thought, and Bill Belichick is a genius because he has one the games best QB in NFL history..
The Chargers played hard in every game , even in the one game when they were blown out. I mean other teams around the league have been blown out and looked horrible on defense and they are in the playoffs. The Broncos, ravens , Patriots.. But sometimes you need a little luck sometimes, this year was a bad luck year , Recall Game 1, kaeding kicks off and that new special teams coach and our team give up a kick off return for touch down,. yes, so much for great expectations , and to top it off our kicker one of the most accurate in NFL history - during the regular season , breaks his leg,.,. It was a bad omen and a sign of the times that maybe this year is going to be crazy .. and crazy it was.
We jump to 4-1 start and talks about play offs , super bowl etc,. We finally , or Norv finally figure things out.. But then suddenly we go into a 6 game losing streak , they w e haven't seen in more than a decade and our hope and dreams of play off or championship are doomed.. But wait,, Our Cardiac Chargers find life and beat down the Jaguars , Ravens , the Bills , and finally the season finale against the RAIDERS.. you have to admit watching those low outs were fun.. and We should be proud of our team.. But Many of you choose to post negative statements and blogs and comments about your home team.. Really ? Are you really a fan , or some band wagon fools that only support them when they win.. Well guess what ? That's why people make fun of charger fans , because instead of defend the team. you join in the fun or bashing.. To me,, Not cool and not even Fan like.. Believe me I hate losing as much as all of you.. We have endure many years of losing and bad decisions. We had the Tommy Prothro years , the Mike Riley and June Jones and change a coach almost every season, before the BOSS ROSS YEARS and our lone SUPER BOWL APPEARANCE.. then the first greatest show on turf,, AIR CORYELL YEARS and all those Hall of famers, Dan Fouts , Kellen Winslow , Charlie Joiner who is our fantastic receiver coach.. Then of course the Ryan Leaf years,, then the Marty rebuilding years and the emergence of LT,, AND DREW BREES.. gosh those were the days,., But now We have Norv Turner regime.. Under him we have a 3-3 play off record,, Under Marty 0-1 , Norv has the best winning percentage of any charger coach.. Just a thought. I know , injuries , bad draft picks,, steroids use,, bad attitudes have affected this team. But have faith.. Lets see what changes are made. Lets see if the new draft picks come around and see if the new ones this year are productive. Lets see if Rivers bounces back after his worst season ever. Lets see if Norv , finds the right pieces to the puzzle and gets assistants that will help him with time management , two minute drills and critical game time decisions.. No one in this league does it alone and Norv, is no different , I feel he is such a perfectionist , he takes on more than he should. Spread the wealth Norv, makes those great play calls and get the right players on the team.. We have detractors , loud mouth and mal contents. make those tough decisions,.It only takes a few to spoil the bunch.. This team is talented and have desire.. They just need direction and a formula for success, so stop the negative vibes and comments and Lets see what Chargers management does with the draft picks , or trades or the free agency market. Its a new season, and we need to look over college players available and get for another fun run to the SUPER BOWL.. Like my dear friend from Montgomery High school, Mel once told me. " You have to believe to achieve!" and after all these years and this rough season for all of us. Lets take a deep breath and lets encourage our team on.. I know alot of cancelled their season tickets and others are thinking about it. I think its more economy than loyalty to the team.. But lets give them the benefit of the doubt.. The media prints stories to sell papers and get their readership up.. and sometimes I think bloggers do the same.
My advice charger fans chill out. Let things settle down, and Lets see what happens.. and when that NOV. 2012 vote for a new stadium.. The recent news of Mayweather sentenced to Jail , then delayed so he can make money , It just makes you wonder why would the law or justice system allow this? Kick backs , money , etc.. Just a thought , and now the big question,.,.Lets get the two best boxers in the game , the most talked about and the biggest gate earners ,, in the game . Lets make this fight that has been delayed too long.. Both fighters are getting older Mayweather turning 35 , and Pacquiao is already 32,, their primes are on the down side. Lets see it now! Not when they are late thirties or forties,, because by that time , we will see a slow motion fight , with no real action , kind of like Leonard Hearns II , when both fighters were well past their crimes.. That was tough to watch two great fighters fight beyond their primes and not having the skills or speed when they first met. Not to say it was a pretty entertaining fight , but it was also kind of sad how much their talents and skills had deteriorated..
Now back to the mega fight , whats the problem? Mayweather is free to fight and Pacquiao hasn't scheduled a fight with anyone , and if he has , who cares cancel it or reschedule at another time.. The Public wants this mega fight ! Now , not later, If Pacquiao is concerned about losing than he should keep his mouth shut as well as his promoter Bob Arum.. I'm tired of all the excuses and what not.. If they really believe they have the fighter to beat the Undefeated and masterful boxer mayweather , then make the fight. We all know Mayweather is not a good human being , beating up his girlfriend , and abusing his kids or what is a poor excuse of human being , that's why he going to jail,, and heaven forbid how that turns out.. Many prisoners hate abusers , especially if it deals with kids, and I'm sure they are lot of thugs ready to make a reputation to knock out Mayweather.. But back to topic.. Pacman if you really want this fight , Tell , yes tell your Promoter I want Mayweather , and should I win , then schedule the others, but if you let your promoter schedule a fight with pretenders to the crown,, it just makes you look like , it's you ducking Mayweather,, I know that's not the case, but perhaps you have second thoughts since you were tested and many thought lost to Marquez months ago.. While Mayweather , handled him and could of knocked him out. I'm not questioning your desire , but it seems you need a tune up or a fight that suits your style better to regain your mojo.. Mayweather is a special blend of speed . power , wisdom and affective defense and a strong willed and strong minded fighter. He has faced all the styles and because he's a champion, with a big mouth , he always gets his opponents best. Lets make this fight , the powers to be need to stop the drama , and Lets settle this issue , Win or lose on either cases , just sets up for another mega fight.. Unless one of them gets knocked out and doesn't want to risk their health.. Its time for this fight to regain the popularity and prestige for at least one more big night in Vegas.. because time is flying by, both fighters are getting older and slower , they are heading to the ends of great careers, and different paths.. DEC 7 SATURDAY my picks in bold print!!
BENGALS VS. TEXANS , These teams are similar in style and play calling , the Bengals have a very good quarterback and a hard running Running back, They play stout defense and I feel they will make enough plays to squeak out a thriller at Houston. I just don't trust TJ , and because of the magnitude and the emotions of the game , I see him making ill advised throws and mental mistakes that will lead to turnovers and a tough loss for the home team.
LIONS VS. SAINTS , The Saints are Money at home and the Lions are very good on fake grass , but in loud and predominant Saints fan base, and the fact this SAINTS team is more dangerous offensively than the team that won the SUPERBOWL a couple years back. I see a aggressive offense and a defense that will seal the deal late. This will be the highest scoring game this weekend!
DEC 8, 2012 SUNDAY
FALCONS VS. GIANTS The Giants have been inconsistent and sometimes tough to watch , but that dominating win against the Cowboys seem to unite them. They have a dominating defense and Eli Manning will lead his giants to a win over the unpredictable Falcons.. Turner is questionable and if he does play , he's not totally healthy. Ryan will need to throw to win this game , but the Giants pass rush will be too much to handle on the road.. The Giants win a low scoring battle.
STEELERS VS. BRONCOS - Another potential low scoring game , The Steelers are going to be with out their speed runner Mendenhall and lost their star defender on defense , Big Ben is hurting , but he will make enough plays to overwhelm the hot and cold and now questionable playoff contender. Tebow needs to step up and make some plays but against one the games best defenses , I see another difficult game as the Broncos will be treated to beat down from a true Championship team and attitude.
Final Analysis.. I see Drew Brees , Andy Dalton and Eli Manning having big days passing. As for Running backs,.. I can see Brandon Jacobs and Darren Sproles being the stars running and or catching the ball. The defensive effort of the weekend is the Steel curtain put an end to tebow time.. and I see the Bengal defense stifling and frustrating the 3rd string QB for the Texans,.Enjoy this weekend , but bear in a mind , injuries , mistakes and turnovers can easily change the outcomes in all these games.. But I like the teams with quality quarterbacks , strong running games and stout defenses to win the games I picked and I see Bengals , Saints , Giants and Steelers having the best defensive days and their offenses taking advantage of field positions and turnovers.. Happy New Year 2012, Gosh it seems New Years day came and went this year and we are nearing the end of One week into the New year.
Did you make the usual resolutions, Lose weight , gain muscle, work out more , make more money , save more money , love your family and friends , get rid of fake friends.. Be more energized, be healthy , etc..
For the most part Everyone wants this year to be productive and for alot of us its a transition year , changing job, career, retiring , moving on.. For me, I decided to not make any resolutions.. Instead just live my life by my own standards.. Which is . obey the laws , be a productive citizen , help those in need and be more accessible for family and friends.. We all know we are all proudful people and often times , asking for help is beyond us because of pride or image. But this year you should trust in friends that will back you up and will not use your fall from grace to degrade you or insult you..
Personally , I like to say what i feel and do what I like. Its not always popular and heaven for bid I'm not the most politically correct person, But atleast people know where I stand.. Loose cannon, a loud mouth , instigator.. a rebel.. so be it. I like to comfortable that whatever i say or do , its what I truly beleive! Like i said , it may not help you with building alot of friends , but atleast you feel like I'm not a phony.. For me those that pretend to be something and turn around and do the opposite are not only hypocrites but phonies I dont want to deal with. As this new year continues on, Dont be afraid to speak your mind or drop contacts or fake friends , because in the long run,, You should be true to those that are true to you.. Oh,, by the way , I know that is my New Years resolution" Be true to those who are true to you. !!" By doing that , You will feel better with your self and the circle of friends that stay with you will be comfortable in sharing things with you. So , Go out and enjoy the things you love this year , but also be careful who you become friends with you. CHARGERS FUTURE 2012??
Chargers future 2012??
The Chargers according to SD bleacher report and ESPN and NFL network experts are stating that MR Norvel Turner and AJ Smith will be back next year. Well , in my opinion they waited too long to fire these clowns , and the best available GM's and or Coaches have already been interviewed and hired.. In other words you snooze you lose.. So , simply put , we retain our guys because it's better than anything out there. The Rumors about Cowher and Gruden , are that rumors.
But the Team Spanos have to take alot into consideration next year. First off alot of season ticket holders have cancelled their renewals and right now .. it stands as the lowest point of season ticket holders in over a decade. The fans and the buying public have finally made a statement. We are not buying this product. 5 years of Contender status to pretender status. The endless excuses , and babble about injuries and schedules and bad luck , so forth and so on.. is Baloney!! The Packers had just as many injuries last year and they went in as a 6th seed ,played road games en route to their 4th SUPER BOWL WIN!! Just this year the SF 49ers with the same 5-11 roster last year, make a genius hire, Jim Harbaugh , former San Diego Quarterback and UCSD football coach, ( DAMN , we had this guy in our own backyard,,) and he now has his team as the 2nd seed and a great opportunity to be in the big game.. The excuses and the lack of accountability on their Charger coaching staff and team is sickening. When I saw Antwan Barnes commit that personal foul on the Raiders and gets kicked out of the game was stupid on his part , and once again I see nothing from Norv , to correct or even tell that player,, you don't do those things.. But that's Norv's way.. Let things go,, let the kids run the show.. Rivers talking back , arguing with the Coach , totally disrespect him on NATIONAL TV.. many times during the Turner Regime..

Yea, forget about the tax payers , approving that, The San Diego Tax payers are already taxed enough and wont even pay for Fire or Police protection , so a Brand new Stadium is not going to happen. First off Spanos is tired of spending millions of dollars on Escondido , Chula Vista, Down town San Diego , Mira Mesa, etc,, This ploy to keep the same team is save money , and also open up season tickets for the LA market. I know True San Diegans cant stand the fact , this is even being brought up , But read the writing on the wall. Who in their right mind wouldn't want a new stadium , with 5 times the amount of luxury seats , and big profits. The story or the idea the NFL wont come to San Diego for Superbowl's is crap. They would come to the Q , if invited , but that's Spanos Master plan , to get that shiny stadium. The Chargers fans are not idiots , they know when they are being hood winked. The idea that the management team is doing all they can do to make this new staduim deal happen is poppy cock. They knew or already know that the Fans will not approve of this management team , and sales next year will drop , and blackouts will happen at most if not all the Home games next year. They know full well the vote for a new venue will also be voted down. It just makes it easier for them to pack their bags after the 2012 season , and make that move up north to LA, their original home.. Its bad enough theirs a web site taking season tickets for the upcoming seasons of football in LA. Its also disheartening that the LA times have big advertisements for Chargers tickets in their paper. I don't see that in San Diego papers. In fact the whole marketing strategy in San Diego is lacking big time. I know , we all want our Beloved Chargers to stay , but in today's day and age , its all about the color of money. Spanos , can make much more money in LA , and thus he then can afford those Big time GM's and Coaches.. It's a catch 22 and for us die hard Bolt fans.. Just like the Rams leaving for St Louis,, and winning a SUPERBOWL.. or the Browns moving to Baltimore and becoming the Ravens and winning a SUPERBOWL,, or The Colts moving from Baltimore to Indy... Its all about economics.. Money , money , money. LA is big time and San Diego , have a loyal following , but not enough high rollers to support the profit margin the Spanos Family craves. Now for Chargers fans , would it be satisfying to see our team Move to LA and win that elusive SUPERBOWL, or would that be another slap in the face for SAN DIEGO SPORTS FANS. RECALL history is against us, we saw the Rockets of the NBA move from SAN DIEGO TO HOUSTON, and they won a championship! We saw Fred Dean and others from the Air Coryell years leave the team and win multiple SUPER BOWLS with the SF 49ers.. We also seen Drew Brees leave the team and go on to win a SUPER BOWL,, and recently Darren Sproles join Brees and make a tremendous impact that they are in contention for the SUPERBOWL..
Bottom line; The SAN DIEGO CITY COUNCIL , THE CHARGERS have blown too many opportunities , and the SpanosSpanos family to say , San Diego , we tried our best I spent millions of dollars for field studies and I have waited years and finally put the vote up to you voters , and the resounding NO to the stadium is clear. I will take my losing franchise and move them to that shiny stadium ,, no hard feelings!! It just makes too much sense and logic to think other wise. Like I said, who wouldn't want a new stadium with all the bells and whistles.. The Q looks good on TV, but up close you have crowded and dirty rest rooms, you many bad seats and leaky infrastructure, You have long lines at concessions and a facility that just doesn't fill the need to make big money. The truth hurts , and I see this scenario play out next season. I pray I'm wrong , but I see too many red flags happening that makes all the observations I just mention , come into play.. Enjoy our Chargers next year , but don't be surprised if they do decide to make that choice anyone would make under the similar circumstance..

Just like the Rams leaving for St Louis,, and winning a SUPERBOWL.. or the Browns moving to Baltimore and becoming the Ravens and winning a SUPERBOWL,, or The Colts moving from Baltimore to Indy... Its all about economics.. Money , money , money. LA is big time and San Diego , have a loyal following , but not enough high rollers to support the profit margin the Spanos Family craves. Now for Chargers fans , would it be satisfying to see our team Move to LA and win that elusive SUPERBOWL, or would that be another slap in the face for SAN DIEGO SPORTS FANS. RECALL history is against us, we saw the Rockets of the NBA move from SAN DIEGO TO HOUSTON, and they won a championship! We saw Fred Dean and others from the Air Coryell years leave the team and win multiple SUPER BOWLS with the SF 49ers.. We also seen Drew Brees leave the team and go on to win a SUPER BOWL,, and recently Darren Sproles join Brees and make a tremendous impact that they are in contention for the SUPERBOWL..
Bottom line; The SAN DIEGO CITY COUNCIL , THE CHARGERS have blown too many opportunities , and the SpanosSpanos family to say , San Diego , we tried our best I spent millions of dollars for field studies and I have waited years and finally put the vote up to you voters , and the resounding NO to the stadium is clear. I will take my losing franchise and move them to that shiny stadium ,, no hard feelings!! It just makes too much sense and logic to think other wise. Like I said, who wouldn't want a new stadium with all the bells and whistles.. The Q looks good on TV, but up close you have crowded and dirty rest rooms, you many bad seats and leaky infrastructure, You have long lines at concessions and a facility that just doesn't fill the need to make big money. The truth hurts , and I see this scenario play out next season. I pray I'm wrong , but I see too many red flags happening that makes all the observations I just mention , come into play.. Enjoy our Chargers next year , but don't be surprised if they do decide to make that choice anyone would make under the similar circumstance..

Well, I finished the year strong and I'm satisfied about how my picks went. I did pretty well throughout the year and I'm sure your looking forward to my Playoff picks.. Simple , I like franchise quarterbacks with stout defenses, unless you have a incredible athlete like Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees , both these men deserve THE MVP and both could very well meet in the NFC Championship game.. Right now I'm siding on the NFC to win it all!! THE AFC has too many inconsistent teams and most of them don't have the offense or defense to slow down the packers or saints. After season SUPER BOWL PICK based on the final four weeks of the Season. I see the Packers beating the saints in the AFC Championship and I see the Patriots beating the Steelers in Foxboro.. Which gives us a Packers 4 time SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS VS. PATRIOTS 3 TIME SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS.. Aaron Rodgers Vs. Tom Brady and two defenses that can be scored on. I see the Packers defense making one or more stops and getting a critical turnover to win the highest scoring SUPERBOWL IN NFL History.. But it's still only Jan 2, 2012.. We still have a month or so of playoffs and anything is possible , Injuries can change the make up for everything and what team gets hot or stays hot during this 2012 playoff run to the SUPERBOWL.. The yearly family re union - get together was a blast. This has been a family tradition with the Paras and Austria's since I moved into my humble home in the Temecula Valley area. I was stationed in Japan , for a couple of years before actually moving in. But once we did , the changes and the additions to the house were fast and furious. But the most important thing is the annual or semi annual gatherings we have at the house. Usually New Years eve or day,, and A Summer time blast!
But Yesterdays festivities were awesome I actually had 3 parties at once , the New Years bash , My son Marty's 10th b day and my relative Jay and Jamie's baby shower-- a surprise to me and I was the host!!lol
But most of all just having most of the family and friend attend was special. I greeted everyone coming and going and made sure everything ran smoothly. Like trash being taken out, proper stuff in the bathrooms, drinks were refilled and maintained, and of course everyone having a good time.
The family raffle was awesome, and how the heck a person not there Jiamay, wins it is beyond me.. She is lucky luck in Capital letters.. Oh by the way we all hate that!! lol.. The break dance was cool, I really like watching Brandon do his thing , I know Marty didn't want too , but I tried my best! I hope you liked my splits show , jeez Im so sure,, I;m not sure if this old man can do this any much longer , But I will try until father time takes over.. It was a wonderful sight to see the whole family enjoying the show.. And I did a Pinata thing for the first time at my Parties.. It was a regular occurrence for my eldest sons b day parties.. Sorry about that Marty , We will make that a regular deal until you get too old? lol
The food was spectacular < Lisa makes the best anything , even foods I don't like, when she makes it I love it.. We have fried shrimp , lumpia of course , Pancit, baked wings, Korean beef, so tender and moist , and of course we had Jenny's baked cake shaped like a play station 3.. awesome. I must say it was the most moist and tasty cake ever! Well done, and of course we had other assorted Filipino desserts.. Very tasty,, and filling , now I need to get back into my training regime for this year.
The day turned into night as the kids continued to break dance in the garage and skate board into the streets , I'm sure the quiet neighbors enjoyed that!! The older crowd , we were singing all the songs and Oliver , Rowena , Ilong and Mona were awesome.. Me,. well of course I had my rock tainted voice on alot of songs.. Thank you Prescy , Mede , and company enjoying the show.. Plus we had the Card room playing in the Formal dining room.. It was a house full of fun and activities.. Oh yes ,, We also enjoyed watching our San Diego Chargers score on 6 of thier first 7 possesions , truly fun , but frustrating , if only they didnt lose 6 straight games in the middle of the season.. Oh well its a new year!! Keep the faith..
As the night winded down and we took videos and pictures for memories , I made sure everyone was escorted to thier vehicles and pleasant good byes.. I 'm not bragging but I can throw down a pretty good show. The biggest compliment came form my baby Son Marty,, who said Thanks papa , for being fun, high energy and entertaining!! Of course ,,son anything for my family.. I always want anyone who visits my humble home to feel like they are welcome and enjoying themselves. I know time is flying by, soon I retire the many kids in our family will graduate high school , go to college, tech school or even military. I wish them well, and I also plan on doing this annual family bash,, as long as they want to come.. I know I complain about the cleaning and preparations involved , but in the end.. To see every ones smiling faces and memories that will last for a life time.. I'm happy for that! Get set for next years gig, Because I plan to retell stories from the past like how I meant my wife, The Navy chapel incident at Boot Camp.. The First day on board mu first ship,, and many others. But most of all I want everyone to be happy , because time is so fast , the bonding and time we have shared over the years are forever preserved on videos and pictures and now on blogs.. So for my beloved Family and friends that have attended my gatherings.. Thank you and God Bless , We have more gatherings to share good times with the greatest performing family !!

CHARGERS VS. RAIDERS NEW YEARS DAY KEYS TO THE GAME..
The season finale..
Simple, Play with passion and score first and often and let the Raiders play catch up.. Hit palmer often and make him throw it before he wants to.
The Raiders are the most penalized team for a reason ,m lack of leadership and discipline.. They lose horribly at home because they get caught up in the Fans frenzy.. Let their emotions play out and Score on them first and keep the pressure on.. Run the ball to establish the pass and Rivers can pass with the best of them if protected.
But if the protection is bad and the bolts get behind expect a terrible game and the firing of Norv , as soon as possible.. I believe he's fired anyway , anyhow, but I'm sure he wants to leave on a great note. As for AJ Smith , I think he's done too, and for the owner of the Chargers , I don't care who you hire as longs its the best available, which means its gonna cost.. But if you want the Bolts fans to renew or start new season tickets. A big name hire maybe the only saving grace!! Plus you have the stadium vote and without a proven winner , the fans will abandon any thoughts about stadiums or such.. So Please make your decision with great care , this may affect Charger football for many years to come.. Don't let us down,, like last time with the Norv Turner hire, to be honest , he was given no fair shake , but fans like anything in life , We want production , out of our team , we want progress , instead what we saw was the dismantling of a contender to a pretender..
Bottomline.. Today marks a new year for both teams and a chance for a new beginning. For the Chargers a feel good attitude for the nest season and for the raiders the same.. If anything this should be a passionate and spirited game and the team that makes the less mistakes and takes advantage of them should win this game.. Expect Rivers to have a big game and Mathews pounding out some big yards , as the indiscipline and shaky defense gets to handle the NFL's most dangerous offensive teams.. Happy New Year and a prosperous one at that. I want to thank all my family and Friend's for making last year special , and I know this is be year to remember. Its the year of the dragon , and for some of us this is our year. For Me. I retire late this year after 20 years of faithful service in the Military and I'm looking forward to starting my new career and spend alot more time with My beautiful Wife Mona , and my two great sons, Brandon Lee and Marty pooh.. They are my pride and joy and I want them to achieve whatever their hearts desire. I'm so proud of their work ethic and their attention to future plans. I wish nothing but the best for them and all my family and friends who have kids ready to embark new chapters in their life.. Tech school, trade school, college , Military .. or what Do what makes you happy and do your best!!
Lastly , be thankful for all your blessings this past year and may this year be more productive and joyous to all, and recall the loved ones you lost and keep their memory or spirit alive by living the way they taught you and be strong this year and be yourself. Don't let the unhappiness of others affect your mood or goals.. You can do what want.. It takes patience , belief and hard work. Once again Enjoy the day and make this year the best ever!!
