Why I'm Thankful? Nov. 2014..
  First of all I'm thankful every day I wake up and I thank God for another day of living. Because of my 20 years of naval Service I have seen the good , the bad and the ugly, I have seen dead marines, navy pilots and civilians during my tenure and to be honest you never forget those memories,, We try to cope , but many veterans its hard , but I pray I have the strength and wisdom to carry on.. When it comes to war,,To be honest , I don't want any generation to deal with it,. I have seen so many lives affected by the stresses of war including myself.. Its not a great feeling to see death or dying or see shipmates so stressed out they kill themselves or try to.. Its nothing glamorous about battle, or war or being adviser's on humanitarian efforts like they like to call it.. No matter what you call it , its still a military action, and we are often trained or brain washed into thinking , might is right and kill or be killed ,, at the time it seems right , but now I realize , aren't we humans , with logical minds? But yet we kill one another , we hate one another , road rage, arguing over little things.. I know we are a flawed species but come on now,,,
 Now that I'm retired I'm thankful to be home with family and to be out of harms way. I'm thankful I get to be with them at the holidays , God knows how many days and years I lost at sea ,, Those are times forever lost.. and it hurts to think I miss them all. But its the life I choose , its the career I wanted and it was patriotism I felt for this country. Its funny , I didn't realize how patriotic I was until I retired, because now I carry American flags with me in my car , at my house I proudly represent the country that gave me a great life.. I'm not rich , but I have the benefits I'm thankful for .. 
 I'm thankful that I was able to help others in distant lands with clean ups and just spending time with them. Its so ironic how much they love Americans and our way of life,, that many of us take for granted,, If you saw the poor people in africa or asia and see how they live their lives,, its sad to see them prostitute them selves,, wash services mens feet or do massages or what.. I often times found that demeaning , but if you had no other means to make money,, I think we all would do what we could do,.. It doesn't make it ethical or proper , but people got to live,, and I'm thankful my family doesn't have to see that or do those things to survive.. I know it sounds like I'm preaching , but at times,, I feel i have too. Because of what I lived through and what i saw.. The world is not as rosey and happy as you may think, There are many people wondering when and what they will eat, or drink, or will I have a chance to bathe myself, or will natural disasters destroy everything you have. Its tough to see the other side of the life, the poor , the deprived,, but it also makes me thankful, I was able to give my family a better life.. If anything,, as parents you should teach kids , that life is fleeting and how you treat people is more important than what you have , or what you can do. In life those that give , truly are blessed and those that want attention or appreciation , likes on face book,, etc.. are just looking for things that are insignificant. Whats important is that we love one another and treat one another with respect.. But because of social media, because of news media , or clubs,, or what, we all get perverted or misguided in whats really important during our lives.. 
 Bottomline. Be true to yourself and your family and do the right thing. In the end, its how we treat people and how people think of you that will guide your legacy. Its so easy to spread hate, its harder to really spread love and peace and in today's crazy world.. I encourage everyone to praise peace , love and harmony for man kind. because hate only destroys things, while love produces and protect things. My father told me many times growing up > true men protect women and children from harm , and true men have courage under fire and do what they believe in , and not what others think is right. I find that so true, its takes tremendous courage to stand up for whats right and proper , and to be honest with oneself.. I found if you do that , its not hard to have a mantra to stand for.. 
 Be Thankful for God's Blessing and be thankful for family that loves you regardless on how you act or behave.. Because true love is unconditional and that's rare to find in today's. what have you done for me lately society , or the me myself and I world where  self satisfaction is more important than helping someone in need. Be thankful for life and be thankful to live a society you have the right to say and do what you want , but also be thankful that there are people that have sacrificed their lives to protect your right to freedoms, that many veterans fought and die for. Because , based on what I have seen in real life.. I see less and less people with the same convictions as my generation, and to be honest, that's more scary than anything I can think of. Because freedom isn't free , we need patriotic people who are willing to serve and protect and that goes for homeland security and law enforcement. THURSDAY 
BEARS AT LIONS-The Lions have one of the best defenses in the league, but the offense has struggled.. Megagtron and Company need to get it going if they want to make that final push for the playoffs. The Bears have talent , but what Bears team will show up? The one that gives up record breaking points per game or a ground and pound team that controls the clock and play smart football. My theory is a combination of both and The Lions will take advantage of the bad cutler and the defense that is not very good. 
EAGLES AT COWBOYS-The eagles are exciting to watch and with Sanchez, they can score points and against the Cowboys,, they will need to score to keep up with the balanced cowboy team. Romo is doing enough to win and Murray is one of the best running backs in the game. I see a high scoring game with the cowboys out scoring the fast paced eagles. 
SEAHAWKS AT 49ERS - Bit teams are 7-4 and fighting for a playoff spot. This will be a tough game , but the running game of the Niners and stout defense will help them win at home and gain ground on the fading cardinals.. Wilson will be consistent , but I see the Niners making more plays on offense and defense. The issues with Lynch and company will continue and it will be a tough game for the hawks to overcome. 
SUNDAY 
REDSKINS AT COLTS-The Colts and Andrew Luck have one of the most exciting offenses in the league and the Skins are changing QBS.. GOOD MOVE FOR THE FUTURE, but on the road in a loud arena will be too much for the Young McCoy , but it will be competitive game.. 
TITANS AT TEXANS-The Texans took  TOUGH LOSS last week and also lost their QB Ryan mallet, back in Fitzpatrick.. Best formula is run foster and make quick passes to lay makers like Johnson.. Let JJ WATT control the other side of the ball and don't be surprised if Watt had another offensive touch down.. 
BROWNS AT BILLS-The up and coming teams, Browns have a young Hoyer at QB and the bills trust a veteran in Orton, The Bills have a underrated defense and a steady offense. This will be a tough defensive game , but I like Orton making enough plays to win a close tough game.
CHARGERS AT RAVENS -The Chargers escaped last week at home and the ravens had a great win on the road. Both teams are strong on all phases of the ball. Both have great qbs and a solid running game. It will be a battle of wills and who makes the most big plays and the least mistakes. It wont be a easy game and i expect a tough game. I see the Chargers running game and ball control making the difference. 
GIANTS AT JAGUARS- The Jaguars play well for part a game then fade at the end. The Giants are the sam way , but they are too talented and prideful to lose to one of the worst teams in the NFL, YES , THEY COULD BE WORSE THAN THE RAIDERS. Eli will have a great game and get a much needed win for the GMEN. The Jags play well early in the game but fade out late.. I see another meltdown at home. 
BENGALS AT BUCCANEERS-The Bengal's have all the good sand services to win a division and they will play well and get set for another playoff run. Andy Dalton is trusting his play makers and they are playing better defense.
RAIDERS AT RAMS -The Raiders had a upset win last week at home and will be feeling good. But they are playing a very hot and talented team. The Rams lost a heart breaker and they are upset and angry. The Raiders have trouble with a strong run game and expect the Rams to run down the raiders and get a soild home win.. A new losing streak starts for the raiders..
SAINTS AT STEELERS-The saints cant win at home , so I don't expect them to go on the road and beat the Steelers. Unless the saints defense plays better. If not , don't be surprised if the Steelers run wild and win easily at home.. The Saints don't have the same mojo like years past, and The cold will affect the passing game for both teams.. Its that time of the year where teams that can run will win easily on the road or at home!! 
PANTHERS AT VIKINGS - Cam Newton has had a bad year and so goes the panthers, they don't have the same mojo they had last year and the Vikings , despite a rookie qb, are playing balanced football,, The Panthers need to play better if they want to win the winnable NFC south , but based on past weeks they are just playing average football . The Vikings are balanced and confident and will play a great game at home. 
CARDINALS AT FALCONS- The cardinals were playing the best football the whole year , but losing Palmer and having a journeyman QB ,, is not working, especially the running game has suddenly failed them. The falcons haven't been consistent , but they have enough play makers and a defense to hold off the limited cardinals,, Its time to worry for the cardinals because the 49ers and Seahawks are getting their acts together in time for the final push for the playoffs.
PATRIOTS AT PACKERS - Tom Brady has his team playing well. At home unbeatable, on the road , they are beatable. The Packers have one of the best qbs in the league and a defense that is improved. It will be a tough game , but the Packers prevail.. With tough hard running and  consistent passing by rodgers. This could be a game of the week , because of solid offense and defense!
SUNDAY NIGHT
BRONCOS AT CHIEFS -The battle for first place. The Broncos escaped with a win at home , the defense was horrible and needed a incredible performance by manning.. On the road , its hard to to expect a lights out performance in the cold against a tough , solid chiefs team. It will be loud and tough for a passing team to operate. Unless the broncos score early and take a lead, it will be tough for a one dimensional team to beat a well balanced team with a better defense.. 
MONDAY NIGHT 
DOLPHINS AT JETS -The Dolphins lost a heart breaker , but they also showed they can score alot of points on the road.. The Jets are in trouble.. if they cant get a running game or a passing game going. Vick was hurt and Smith came in,, same result. It doesn't matter who starts, the Dolphins are better are in all phases of the game.. Its sad to say but rex ran has a team that is n trouble,, It will be a Monday night massacre with the Dolphins winning easily and the Jets struggling like they have all season long.

PACQUIAO VS ALGIERI NOV 22, 2014..
 The long awaited fight night. We have this Long Island Suburban , intelligent , thoughtful yet cocky or confident kid from Long Island New York, he has foot and hand speed and a mental fight process. He is a former kick boxing champion. but, guess what,, ? Boxing and MMA is worlds apart in skill and desire. Boxing is one of the most truthful and hurtful sports today. No other sports exposes a fighter or style more than boxing.. Ok.. My analysis and prediction
 AlGIERI on offense- He is a strong , well conditioned fighter , and likes to jab and throws hooks, but hooking against the games best hooker will be deadly if not hurtful.. ALGIERI's jab is not punishing , and is all he has.. He wants to box and try to out jab a busy , heavier puncher with other skills.. Its one thing to stick and move..but you have to stand still and be dominating to be a true champion.. Guys like Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns.. Marvin Hagler , all could box, but their comes a time in championship fight you need stand still and punch it out because you don't have a choice.. If and when that happens in the fight ,, that's where the fight will end.. Algieri IF HE WANTS TO win, he better be prepared for heated exchanges and trading blows.. the stick and move boxing will not get you a victory or win a championship. He does show the ability to adjust in fights , but now he dealing with a multiple champion who is now fighting at a better natural weight, Manny is now fighting at the weight where he has power , speed and accuracy .. In other words Manny is at his boxing best weight, His home town fights against nobodies is not the proper preparation to challenge Manny , but he does have heart and he is well conditioned, but the speed and power and precision and accuracy of his punches , will be a level ALGIERI will be welcomed too..You want history ,, ok once upon a time Seam O' Grady was a undefeated home town fighter that was exposed when he finally stepped up in class and I see the same for ALGIERI , he has tremendous heart , and it will be hazardous to his eyes and brain. I still believe he didn't beat The Siberian Tiger ,, but that's done. Its fight time and he will get a rude awakening to championship fighting against a fighter ,, many avoid including the Great Mayweather.. I will give him this.. He does have guts and desire , more than mayweather ,, to fight the Pac man,, but that's all.. Because his lack of true boxing skill and experience will be exposed and his self induced confidence against journey men fighters , is no way a preparation for elite fighting. But I admire his courage,, but his lack of power and true boxing skill and talent , will or may look good early , but once the speed , precision and power with Manny at his more natural weight.. A knockout will come and once again showcase the greatness of Pacquiao~~  
 ALGERI ON DEFENSE; He makes many mistakes, he keeps his right hand low and often times he telegraphs his intentions, He also stands still and upright when punching at times and likes to use his long body for defense,, But his footwork is amatuerish and moves to get away , more than move to get into position. he also doesn't throw accurate combinations,, and uses his footwork to avoid punches, that takes alot of energy and wasting time trying to score,, His best defense is his offense and he better use the ring size to keep Manny away. 
  PACQUIAO ON OFFENSE.. - What is there to say ,? He has knocked out , out boxed and out punched many boxing legends. He can win fights with power and precision.. I know he got knocked out by Marquez,, but that's punchers curse,, before the knock out Manny was winning easily and got too confident,, But since that fight he has been a better boxer and counter puncher and just has tremendous speed and precision/ What makes Manny special is that his foot work , his hand speed is spectacular at this stage of his career an his ability to break down a fighter is amazing. He has deep desire and passion for a sport he grew up  in Manny doesn't need motivation to fight, he does it for self satisfaction and honor. I believe Manny is tired of people saying he has lost his punch , and desire.. remember Manny was 115 pound fighter when he started,, Sure .. almost 20 years later and now fighting at 140 lbs.. he is now at the weight he can handle his weight , and opponents. His victories over Bradley were decisive and impressive and  showed he can be sharp , accurate and powerful.. He is a elite fighter that is hungry and ready  to regain that destroyer image that has been lost since moving up in weight and fighting taller and heavier fighters. 
 PACQUAIAO ON DEFENSE- He keeps hi hands up to block punches , but is always ready to punch at any angle.. His best defense is his offensive aggressiveness. But his foot speed to get you in awkward positions will be his greatest asset, because he's shorter , he will bob and weave and have ALGIERI wwondering where he is,, ALGIERI better be ready for a aggressive fighter that throws alot of punches and is accuarate and fast, and when the heat of battle hits,, Mannys experience, desire and skillset will be too much for the untested , soft punching , over confident taller fighter that is afrad to exchange blow for blow.. 
 My prediction is simple. The fairy tale story about a fighter that has been spoon fed opponents with average skills, will be exposed in China, and we will see  The Manny pacquaio of old.. at a weight class where he is comfortable and powerful and amazing to watch. For ALGIERI, yes, hes well conditioned , he's intelligent , he's tall and he articulate when he speaks, but come fight time, the salesman , the intellect , the journey man boxer with a set up undefeated record, will not only be exposed , but possibly knocked out senseless, and thats what going to be fun to watch. The phony hype about the True Rocky is nonsense,, ??Rocky the movie was about a dumb, slow talking , in your face puncher who fought in one town against tough fighters... This version of Rocky is a articulate , intelligent , soft punching home town fighter that is getting his chance of a lifetime to be a true champion.. and I applaud him for that. But his skill , his experience and knowledge will be exposed fight night.. Under the lights, The dangerous Manny Pacquiao will face the confident , yet inexperienced fighter that will feel the wrath of one of the greatest fighters of all time.. Sure ALGIERI has a chance , but I wouldn't bet on it,, If a smart counter puncher like Marquez couldn't out box Manny until he developed power ,, than I cant expect a light hitting , inexperienced , nutritionist who lives with his parents in the suburbs of New York, to beat a World Class , fighter who has fought everyone , every where under the most adverse condition.. I know ALGIERI feels great right now,, but when the pressure and the magnitude of the event unfolds,, and he sees a different Manny in the ring.. The fury and the true Eye of Tiger will be unleashed.. and then Boxing can concentrate on better fights ,, Like Pacquiao vs Mayweather,, because these are the best fighters around and the sport needs  it !! MARTY'S BLOG 8 - HIS LAST 2014 LAST PRACTISE SESSIONS..

MARTYS BLOG 8 - HIS LAST 2014 PRACTICE SESSIONS..
 My son had his lat practise last week, and it was do special to see all his team mates, smile and goof around,, I know football shouldn't;t be a goofing session. But these boys from Elsinore Valley played their hearts out this year, always over manned, always out matched, always playing bigger and  faster and stronger players. But these boys played hard, played smart and always gave it their best. watching my son playing or practising after a 4 week break because of a ankle injury,, Just brought smiles to my face. he is so fun to watch,,and It was fun taking pictures and videos of his teammates.. Who are a variety of pretty boy White boys that look like models or skate boarders, to the Mexican soccer players that may had plenty of desire if not skill and of course the others , like my son, who was a Asian playing a game many thought he couldn't, play,, including myself.. After a year of being a bench player , he finally got his chance and set league records that if he returns,, I can see him rewriting those records.. What was fun hearing the nicknames like " The Devin Hester of Pop Warner,, The fast Marty, Flash ,, etc.. He was a pleasure to see in practice and see him do it in games , he proved to me he is a real deal. Unlike me, in my youth,, I would have great practise and have some great moments in games,, but I never had a season like my son had this year and for that. I thank God,,because with out him ,nothing is possible,, When he got hurt , I prayed and hoped he would get better. and when my prayers were answered.. I was over joyed,, But believe me,, those 4 weeks away was hurtful. painful and tough on my son and myself.. My massage sessions the therapy on his ankle ,, was long and tedious, but I'm proud to say,, he;s back.. and Looking forward to finishing his season at the Lake Elsinore shoot out.. Rumble in the Jungle Bowl Game.. I'm proud of of my son,, and I'm looking to blogging the final game of the season soon and sharing the videos , pictures and excitement my son Marty provides for his family , friends and team mates.. I cant explain how pleased I am, about his passion for a sport I love , played and coached,, and now,, watch him as his number one fan, his coach , his mentor.. I'm not sure how long this feeling will last,, ? High school , college, pro's.. where he goes its up to the main upstairs.. and I'm going to take advantage of his talents and gifts, and make sure,, if this is his destiny, I will assist him and share in his production and performances,, Because you only live once and I'm going to enjoy every moment and whatever path my son goes.. Sports, education etc.. I'm going to provide the best advice, the wisdom and encouragement a father should always do..he doesnt always make me happy, but he does try his best and learns from his mistakes.. AND WE ALL KNOW that's life.. we all make poor decision's at times and let our emotions get the best of our judgement,, but by learning and adapting to those moves , we all can be better parents, students, friends . lovers ,, fathers, mothers,, etc.. Life is life long journey,,and we all must teach our kids the right way to live.. As of now my sons work ethic, character and team work mentality , is going to bode well in life , in sports, in relationships.. You cant live alone and have it your way always, Life is a compromise at times, its a sacrifice at times,and most of all its a learning process that last a life time... Thank you for sharing your thoughts ad ideas on my blogs and face book postings, I love my family , and friends.. Have a great day !!

THURSDAY NIGHT
CHIEFS (7-3) AT RAIDERS (0-10)Its a rivalry game, problem is The Raiders cant score touchdowns , or at least not enough to win. The defense plays well at times , but without support they fade out during crunch times. The Chiefs .. are playing winning football. Jamaal Charles is a one man gang.. He continues to produce and the Chiefs will  prevail. The Raiders will play well in the beginning , but they lack consistency. Another blow out on Thursday's night. 
SUNDAY 
BROWNS (6-4) AT FALCONS (4-6)- The Falcons is first place , how does that happen? Well playing in the NFC south .. No one wants to win this division? The winner so to speak could very well having a losing record . flash back to 2010 NFC west or worst. The Seahawks had a 7-9 record and won the division and actually won a play off game against the Saints.. Falcons will play well at home and treat the home crowd to a win..
TITANS (2-7) AT EAGLES ( 7-3)The Titans tease you with good play only to lose. The Eagles are a fast paced offense and they will get back on track. But don't be surprised if this game is a shootout!!
LIONS (7-3) AT PATRIOTS ( 8-2)The Patriots are playing the most balanced football right now. Tom Brady and The Gronk are unstoppable right now.. And the emergence of Jonathan Gray has been a pleasant surprise,, The defense is still the question mark, but when the offense is clicking .. It may be enough for another run to the SUPERBOWL.. and no Eli and the Giants around.. This could be the year!!
PACKERS (7-3) AT VIKINGS ( 4-6)- The Packers are playing well, but not quite sure about the defense. The Vikings are, playing better , NO AP, but they are playing inspired football. But The Packers are just rolling right now and I see the Aaron rodgers show with Jordy Nelson just being too much for the improving Vikings.. 
JAGUARS (1-9) AT COLTS (6-4)- The jags next to the raiders are horrible, and the Colts are just too explosive on offense, Andrew Luck and Hilton are a incredible duo , look for the colts to bounce back.. 
BENGALS (6-3-1) AT TEXANS (5-5)The Texans with JJ WATT are a amazing bunch. Now that they found their qb in Ryan Mallet.. I feel they use that formula of  foster and Johnson and play great defense. The Bengals are a question mark on the road and because of that its hard to pick them on the road against a rejuvenated zTexans team.. 
JETS (2-8) AT BILLS (5-5)- The bills play balanced football and winning football so to speak, and against the inconsistent Jets , I see a nice solid win for the Bills. As for the jets, pretty good defense , bjt not enough offense to win o the road,,, Mike Vick is playing better and I wouldn't be surprised if they pull out a win.. 
BUCCANEERS (2-8) AT BEARS (4-6)-The Bears are the most unpredictable team in the NFL. one week they play winning football , the next week they play awful. Well they get a crack at their old coach. This might be a closer gamethan people think, But the bears are better and should win, but they havent done well at home. Lovie Smith would love to upset his old team and could make it happen. But I feel the Bears are just a bit more talented and Cutler , will play better and just let his playakers make plays. look for forte to have a big day as they will ground and pound to control the clock and get a low scoring win at home. 
CARDINALS (9-1) AT SEAHAWKS (6-4)The seahawks are in trouble? But they will work out their personnel issues, they just have too many stars to lose at home. The cardinals are playing winning football , but I simply don't trust drew stanton.. The seahawks will get their mojo back with a solid win and home.. Look for the defense control the cardinals and earn a low scoring home win.. 
RAMS (4-6) AT CHARGERS (6-4)The Rams upset the Broncos , with the help of key injuries to thomas and bell as well as sanders.. Look for them to take out key players like Mathews, Gates and allen.. It will be hard hitting and if Rivers is hurting,, this may be a tough game to  win. But the bolts will find enough plays and wills to earn a tough win at home. The Rams will keep it close and the Charger will have to work hard. But I see the chargers making a couple more scoring plays to win this game at home. It wont be a pretty win, but the chargers are looking for wins,, by any means possible,, 
DOLPHINS (6-4) AT BRONCOS (7-3)The Broncos are hurting and the dolphins are peaking at the right time, But The broncos are too good at home,, after being embarrassed by the Rams , Manning and company will bounce back. 
REDSKINS (3-7) AT 49ERS (6-4)RGIII has not played well and is saying things he shouldn't , it seems like the coach and players are not meshing with RGIII, he thinks one great year makes him a brady or manning,, sorry RGIII, one year does not make you a star. hard work, study, and being focused will get you there.. ability and natural talent is great but you need to get to work or The Colt Mccoy chants may be louder this week!!The Niners are looking like the niners of old.. tough running , solid defense.. Less Colin and more Frank Gore is a good formula to follow.. THE 49ERS win big at home!
SUNDAY NIGHT 
COWBOYS(7-3) AT GIANTS (3-7)- The cowboys are playing better then the Giants, after a nice bye week and rest Romo and company. They will use that formula of running and playing great defense.. The Eli manning show is struggling, he has been a turnover machine this year. this could be a ugly Sunday night game and the Cowboys will win easily. 
MONDAY NIGHT 
RAVENS (6-4) AT SAINTS ( 4-6)- The saints used to be unbeatable at home , 2 straight losse's at home is incredible, now 3 ,, could happen,, I don't think so , Drew Brees and company , know if they can get back to winning the NFC south is theirs. I feel they will use great running and jumping to a lead at home, while the defense holds off the Ravens.. The Joe flacco show is great at home , but they struggle on the road. But trends have been broken this year. It will be another close game , but the saints will pull it out with solid running and a solid defense to end the home team losing record. As for the saints fan picking off footballs from opposing teams. lets hope you don't do that anymore.. Because I can only imagine the hecklers will make your fan experience , not pleasant. Fans can be mean,, Now its time for the saints team to show that kind of fight.

Ok, Good win by the chargers after 3 weeks of losing,, its good to see them back on track. Yes,, they only scored 13 points, but a win is a win.. Now my take:
 The Charger defense. -- Are they back? Hard to tell , I mean the Raiders are clueless on offense and when they blew the first play of the game. Who would of thought one minute later that would be a game winning td?? But it was.. The defense created pressure at times but many times couldn't finish the play with a sack or turnover.  That's was disappointing , but the corners especially wright played really well, and the linebackers were fast and aggressive. When the raiders did get into the red zone, they stopped them.. unlike the other weeks against the Chiefs, Broncos and Dolphins.. Better effort , and I expect more cohesiveness next Sunday and better efforts on the pass rush. 
 The Charger offense. The first passing td was fun to see , but the offensive line was inconsistent , as Rivers was rushed to throw passes and didn't have time for long passes. The line is the issue, there's a lack of communication at times, at home you can get away with that. But on the road in loud venues like Baltimore, San Francisco and Kansas city , lack of cohesiveness could be disastrous. It was great to see a better run game , but its still a work in progress, they will need a better run game.. Especially , when you play tougher defense's that can rush the passer. The chargers are too predictable on offense ad they need the wide outs.. Allen and Royal to be more consistent. gates is great but getting the double coverage. But it seems rivers trust gates in the clunch and I don't blame him. Allen has alot the catches, but hasn't been the break out player we saw last year. The Line has to play better if the chargers really want to make a play off run..
Special teams.. Mike Scifres is a stud,, if anything he saved the game for the bolts. he pinned the raiders back and made them move the ball further in order to get into scoring range. It worked, Nick Novak was good, a missed field goal , but came back to make others to seal the deal.. Great efforts on coverage and intensity. 
 Intangibles.. Its a great win, a ego booster and great start. It was a rivalry gamme,, emotions can dictate how you play,, I feel they were pressing too much and not just playing , the images and thoughts of losing was lingering and it showed , because they were jittery at times and not relaxed. hey were a few plays away from making big plays,, football is a game of inches,. One step here, and there, and they could of put up more points.. But a win is win,, and its a start. 
 Now Whast wrong with the Chargers? Play calling, its not the same,, Coach whisenhunt had a better grasp on what players he needed to call plays and called them at the right time.. Frak reich is a first time offfensive coordinator,, but bear in mind he is or was missing Mathews, Woodhead , and their star center, its hard to call plays when you dont have the experience or skillset out there.. Branden Oliver is very good , but he is a rookie  with a lot ot learn. mathews,, is good, but a kneee injury when your nearing your 30'S along with other injuries has slowed him and made him gun shy. Sure he got 70 yards , but the power and explosion is not there and , its noticeable,, But he's a threat and if anything its what rivers needs , a solid running game so he can make those throws we all know he can make.. Coach Mccoy,, is still searching for a identity and needs to impose his style more.. As for the gates admission, I like gates, as a player,, but exposing your qb, ,, like that , I'm not sure that was in the best interest of the team.. I know he menat well. but now he made the rivers and the lines,, a target, we all know in life or sports, expose or show weaknesss people will go after you more , than try to help you,, Its life , its society,, people are looking for people to fail and make accidents.. to happen. Its human nature. Its a rat race in football.. People want to be starters , people want to be winners and in order to do that.. Many will do..whatever.. Its the sad , reality of life.. 
    Final thoughts.. There is 6 games left against the rams,ravens, Broncos,patriots , niners and chiefs.. 3 games on the road and 3 games at home.. If they win out at home.. that will be 9 wins,,, and then they need road wins.. at ravens, niners and chiefs. one out of 3 will make them 10-6 and that might be enough for a playoff spot. But ts clear.. the chargers need to win at least 4 out of 6 or better to have a chance,, and by the way they played last Sunday,,, That's hard to believe they can hold all or any of those teams,, below 13 pts.. if they can,, then the chargers can win all those games.. Because this team can score at least 14 points a game.. well we hope.. But one thing is clear,, The defense played better and they will have to play the same against those contenders coming up.. The offense need to resolve their offensive line and communication issues,, Because it will be loud in Baltimore , San Francisco and Kansas city. defeating the Broncos and Patriots at home is easier said than done, if the offense doesn't get into gear. Now the losing streak is over and now time to get back on track. The Rams have one of the better defensive lines,, and they will come after the chargers. Now the question remains,, Is this the 5-1 chargers earlier in the season,, or the 5-4 charger struggling in all phases of the game. Last Sunday we saw the special teams and defense play championship football. But now that championship offense , that was exciting to watch has bot been seen in over a month,, The last time we saw a charged up offense was weeks ago against the raiders,, because the offense that played last Sunday was horrible. too many holding calls..and dropped passes by the stars and running plays that were inches away from breaking it.. But that's why we play the games, the playoff 's this year looks like a dramatic finish, that may be decided on the last game of the year against the Chiefs,.. As for the fans,, keep the faith,, NFL = is the NO figure league,, it seems week to week, we see teams that seem like the real deal, only to see them fall the following week, Despite the chargers losing ways,,, the bolts are a mere one game behind the division leading Broncos and chiefs,,, Its a long shot , but the Chargers seems to like and strive on playing their best football in December.. but the SUPERBOWL IS PLAYED IN FEB.. And the only way the Chargers can make that run, it takes a total team effort and great coaching. The charger players need to step and make that final run,, and if they can.. Don't be surprised , because this year more than any other year,, its clear,, Any team can beat , any team if your not ready.. Get with it Chargers and their fans,, because this league seems to bring new questions and answers every week and right now,, its seems , the real contenders are beginning to win during this time.. Now the question is " Are the Chargers contenders or pretenders, ? They have shown earlier this year they can be championship quality, but they also have shown they can be beaten down.. Its put up or shut up time,,, San Diego Chargers,, and next Sunday will be another test for the team and the fans that are waiting or wondering what happened to that exciting , consistent offense that can score points. Do the chargers have true character ? Or do they have a bunch of  characters? I'm banking on the this team getting it together and making that run, and if your still watching,,, I expect a fun filled season. and a strong playoff run.. The chargers still believe in one another and that's what matters most. Because alot of the fans are bashing the chargers and jumping off the band wagon.. While the faithful,, stick it out,and when the chargers do make the playoffs and make that great run. It will be fun.. It was close to 2o years since their last SUPERBOWL RUN. and if they can get organized , they can do it again with this team.. Because this team has better talent and potential.. Its now time for them to stop talking and prove it with their play!! Its the final stretch the final quarter of this season. Finish strong San Diego chargers because you have a great leader in Rivers.. gates, weddle , freeney. that are going to give their best and lead others to victory.. " You cant achieve if you dont believe!""

  Well the Chargers are 5-4 , after starting 5-1 and the talk of the NFL and the beloved city of  San Diego.. The Bolts  were the darlings, Rivers in the MVP talk, Branden Oliver rookie of the year talk.. gates the return to Glory,, and a defense that was tops...... well that was then and this is now..
  Enter the Oakland Raider game.. the Chargers were torched with 4 tds passes thrown by rookie sensation Derek Carr,, if not for the last minute pick by rookie sensation Jason Verret, The Bolts pulled it out barely,.
 Since then the Chargers have been exposed, beat by the chiefs at home,, and blown out by the Broncos and the shut out by the Dolphins,,, Thank GOD for the bye week,,
 But , are the chargers confident they can get back to their winning ways? ,,, Well here is something to think about , when the Chargers score below 21 they have lost all their games and when they allow more than 21 they lose them all? So the magic number is 21. Another telling stat..the Bolts are last in red zone defense, which means they allow the most points in the red zone.. Not very good and the reason why they are on a losing streak.. In addition the charger offense is not very good in the red zone,, they score from 20 yards out. which may be what they need to do against the Raiders,, 
 Sure the chargers are getting players back, but team chemistry may be an issue and yes,, Mathews is back with fresh legs,. but he got injured on fresh legs , early in the season,, so I  don't get that logic.. ?Ok.. Mathews was instrumental in last years run. But he wasn't hurt and the line was playing better and Rivers was too. But we all know things can change quickly in the NFL.. but the chargers need to use all their rbs.. Mathews, Browns and Oliver.. Use play action.. screens and even put a running back lined up as a receiver.. Same with gates,, he need to line up as wide out,, since,, Allen and Floyd and Royal have not been consistent, I know its not the norm.. but the season is on the line, If the chargers lose,, forget about playoffs,,  I know its only 5 losse's , but with 6 games remaining against the Rams, Ravens, Bronco's, Patriots , 49ers and Chiefs, the margin of error is even less.
 My takes.. The Chargers need to go 6-1 or 5-2 at worst, that will gibe them a 11-5, or 10-6 RECORD that will be good enough for a playoff spot.. 9-7 , like last year is not possible , especially we have the Steelers, Ravens , Dolphins and Chiefs , Browns all playing well and have good defenses.. The Chargers might have a better offense then all those teams mentioned except for the Broncos,, But the defense is the issue and may be the rest the way out..
  The Chargers need a pass rush and they need turnovers to help the corners that are struggling. The offense needs to be more ball control and go back to that formula that worked early and late last year. BO needs to be a woodhead type role and Mathews, Browns need to take up the tough yards.. And Rivers needs that protection and find those open receivers.. 
 Final thoughts, they have to play better and they have to get their mojo back.. the best way is beat up the raiders on the ground and air.. and the defense needs a great performance , so they have that mindset for the rest of the season. A big win Sunday will do wonders on players ego, wills and desires, as they make the final run for the playoffs,, they cant afford to lose any more home games,, so they need to win those and win out on the road and maybe lose 1 or 2 at the most to make that final run.. So in essence,, Sunday afternoon and on is playoff scenario.. now if the chargers stay healthy and everyone starts playing like they did early in the season . This team has a chance, but more injuries and inconsistent play.. Expect the chargers to be outsiders looking in.. and a 8-8 , 9-7 is a possibility. But the mantra.. One game at a time is what they need to concentrate, no one wins 7 games in one week , So This Sunday , Will the real Chargers that were 5-1 , or are we looking at the 5-4 chargers that got blown out by the broncos' and dolphins and looking horrible at home against the chiefs.. Its not going to be easy and with these chargers , they seem they like it that way.. When they were 5-1 ,, Playoffs , Superbowl etc was the talk, Now at 5-4, The media has discounted them and even some fans,, So the jury is out on the chargers and the final quarter is being played, If the chargers want to make a statement this  year.. Lets do it. Because this year , like no other year.. The winner of the SUPERBOWL seems a question mark.. Yeah the broncos, patriots , seahawks , packers may be the talk.. But we have alot of newbies in the mix , The Cardinals, the Lions, and Dolphins abd the upstarts browns.. If the Chargers are a serious contenders the winning streaks starts sunday. wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwin!!!!!!
   My last view is this the chargers are a good team they have players on all three phases, if their is a weakness its the defensive line,, we need more pass rushers,,, to help Cory and dwight freeney , and the linebackers need to step up.. As for the offense, they need to draft a center in next years draft and another line men.. and if possible another corner... Because Flowers is on a one year deal.. 
  It wont be a easy road , expect some exciting games left.. Like the broncos and patriots at home and on prime time tv.. The Niners is a Saturday night game and I have a feeling the season finale with the chiefs could decide if they are in or out.. But historically that's how the chargers want it.. Like I said , the defense needs to play better and we need better production from allen, royal and floyd. and get that running game going .. If that happens.. ??anything is possible , but it all starts this Sunday against the hated raiders.. The raiders are hurting , they lost their two starting corners and they are mentally beat , they are  0-9 and counting and they lost the their last five last year so in essence they are 0-14- its been a long time since they won. Based on how they have played and their schedule its a true possibility they can go 0-16.. If theirs a chance , I see the Thursday night game against the chiefs,, but its a slim shot,, after that they have a tough schedule.. Based on history this year,, they almost beat the chargers , so in their minds and hearts , they may feel this is their chance to pull out a win.. They did it last year at San Diego,, so if their is ever a scary game for the chargers , its this one coming up.. THE NFL is really the NO figure league. Which team shows up for the chargers, The one beating and dominating the seahawks, or the one getting blown out by the broncos and dolphins and looking horrible,, Its easy to say the chargers have more talent and skill, but do they have the character , the heart and desire to win a tough game at home.. We will find out , and many things are on the line,, playoff chances, fan approval and the teams character... We all will find out and we are hoping the real chargers show up.. With everyone coming back healthy and ready to play,, Its PUT UP OR SHUT UP .. time ! Enough talk ,, its time for action and I mean,, Winning action football.  It starts Sunday, and I'm betting on the Chargers getting back on track and making that late season run.. and providing that drama and suspense they seem to strive on and to be honest,, its what true San Diego Chargers have come to expect,.. and those band wagon fans.. its ok.. jump back on and ride this team , because its that kind of year.. Why not us?.. I mean ,, it too,, Why not the chargers,, But the winning streak must start Sunday,, and get set for a wild ride into playoffs and exciting charger football. Until my next blog.. BILLS AT DOLPHINS- The Bills with ej manuel beat the dolphins earlier this season,geez that seems like ages ago. The Bills now have Kyle Orton and the Dolphins counter with Tannehill. But the game will go down with defense.. I think both defenses play well. I expect tannehill to be steady and more consistent at home and come up with a solid win as both teams fight for those wild card spots in the play offs!!
SUNDAY 
VIKINGS AT BEARS '- The bears have given up more points in their last two games in NFL history, and will that continue? We hope not.. Thank Goodness they face a less than offensively minded team. I expect the Bears to play better , ? They haven't won at home? I don't understand, but that trend ends this Sunday, They will play better , but it wont be easy or fun to watch. Lay Cutler and Brandon Marshall are at odds again? Winning cures everything . They fight back to win a close game at home.
TEXANS AT BROWNS- The Browns are the surprise team of the year , but they need to keep winning to earn their first play off spot in years. The Texans have changed QBS , will it help, they hope so.. My advice feed Foster and get it to play maker Johnson,, and play sound defense,. These might be a physically had hitting game , but the Browns will win this one.. with solid defense and turnover free football. I don't like changing quarterbacks mid way through the season.. But its working in New york with the Jets.. 
SEAHAWKS AT CHIEFS- The seahawks seem to have their formula working again, they will need it against the Chiefs.. Its tough to play and beat those chiefs at home.. jamaal charles is a star and I expect him to do well.I see a low scoring close game , with the Chiefs pulling it out late with a game winning touch down!
FALCONS AT PANTHERS- Both these teams have had a disappointing season, but they both have a shot at winning the NFC south? Go figure.. Picking a winner,, its tough Cam Newton looks injured,, he was sacked multiple times last week, and the falcons have been inconsistent. My take,, A low scoring , boring home win for the pamthers,, 
BENGALS AT SAINTS- The Saints broke their home winning trend last week. and thew Bengals have been erratic this year. I like Drew Brees and company to get back to home cooked winning. The Saints still have shot at winning the division, but they must start winning to make that happen. It seems that have a running game ,, but they must play better defense during crunch times.. They are improving but time is running out..
BUCCANEERS AT REDSKINS- Both teams are awful to be honest, they have had big games and great perfirmances, only to fall back to their Losing ways.. This game will be decided on how makes the least mistakes,, I see the redskins at home winning . RGIII needs to play well and he will, but it will be a tough game..
BRONCOS AT RAMS- The Broncos and Peyton Manning are the best team in the league,, They have it all , Offense, defense and special teams.. The Rams are the spoilers this year, They pull out all the tricks.. The broncos will be tested.. and could be a upset special pick of the week. But I feel the Broncos just have too much takent , skill and of course Manning to keep them winning,, A standard big day for Manning unless,, the Rams get to him early,, But I see the Broncos train rolling!!
49ERS AT GIANTS - The Niners are playing much better, The Gmen are a mess, they playing inconsistent football and Eli , when flustered just turns over the ball . I see the Niners playing fired up football getting them rolling to a winning streak and a wild card spot.. 
RAIDERS AT CHARGERS - The Raiders are 0-9 and I don't see that changing, the Chargers have lost 3 straight and coming off a bye,, the bolts will be angry, the chargers get many stars back Mathews, Teo, Ingraham , attochou.. and others. I see the Chargers coming out scoring early and often and make a statement. The Raiders are faltering ,and its leaders are saying so. Its the time of the year the players are thinking about protecting themselves and preparing for the off season.. Its clear the Raiders will fire another coaching staff and start all over next year.. 
EAGLES AT PACKERS-The eagles are amazing team to watch , and the packers are not bad either Aaron Rodgers when healthy is something else,, As much as I like the eagles,, That secondary is questionable and Rodger's will expose them,, This will be high scoring , and probably the game of the week when ts all said and done! 
LIONS AT CARDINALS - The Lions are a defensive monster and playing winning football. The cardinals are quietly winning football. They lose their star qb.. again. Now can drew stanton car4ry them, we will find out,, But I see Megatron and stafford having a big day as they will upset the cardinals..  just don't feel stanton can carry this team..and against a tough defense like the lions..My theory will be explained.. Stafford's experience and arm strength will prevail , while stanton's management style play is good if you play with a lead.. I don't see him as a comeback quarterback or a come from behind winning quarterback in close games , like this one.. But that's why they play the games,,, My upset special of the week..
SUNDAY NIGHT 
PATRIOTS AT COLTS - The Patriots had a great game against the Broncos,, they will need another performance on the road.. I don't think so.. I like the young stud Andrew Luck and that strong defense ,, playing well on Sunday night and proving a nice home win. Tom Brady will have a great day, But I feel the Colts are playing better defense and have a better consistent offense,, 
MONDAY NIGHT 
STEELERS AT TITANS - The steelers should win, they have more talent , more skill and a much better quarterback,, who is the qb for the Titans. I don't see this being a fun game to watch,, Because the steelers will dominate and impose their will ,,,Big Ben will get back on track and will use their awesome running backs,, Blount and Bell.. to ground and pound their way to a solid and lop sided win on the road.. The titans have a chance , slim and none and both are afraid to to show up,, The Titans need to find a quarterback in the off season, or expect another losing season like this year..

  Why we love our muscle cars? For guys and gals , its simple , its like how you love your kids, or your pets , ? Well for muscle car dudes and dudettes, we love our cars because , the car represents our personality , we take so much time to clean , wax, polish , etc our rides, We wouldn't any one to scratch or beat our cars with a branch or what? I mean.. if we wouldn;t beat our cars with a branch , why would you beat your child with one? Just a ethical thought. 
 For me, when people , smile , or give me the thumbs up when I pass by , its the greatest feeling, because we car folks want the attention.. Its an addiction to have a special ride,, I mean.. I have Had cars that got me to point a  to point b.. but ever since I got my muscle car. my feeling and thoughts have changed about cars, about hobbies , about being passionate for something you love.  I a avid Martial artists and love doing weapons demo's, but having a cool car is a cut above, because everyone I feel loves looking and riding in a cool car.. Even though I get challenged... funny , my car is called a " Challenger ' I just wonder why a kid thinks his beat up Honda with a loud exhaust is a match to any muscle car ,, bewilders me.. or better yet those clowns that spend more money on a sound system , that is essentially worth more than the freaking car,. Insanity , stupidity or just being young and dumb and full of fun?/ 
  Now back to my passion, Every time I start up beauty , its so exciting , I mean, the rumble of the mufflers , the tinted windows, the low stance and the pitch black color with red hash marks , makes is so distinctive,, but that's ok.. we love it that way.. I love the feel of a big car with big wheels and a aggressive look, It makes me feel invincible. Yes, I know I take chances when i drive,,  shouldn't but who wouldn;t driving a muscle car.. I mean the long cruising drives to Vegas, and the winding roads of Ortega highway and to valley view casino makes , those trips ever more fun.. especially the Vegas trip I was racing on 120-160 mph.. with my radar detector , it made it safer.. It only went off once on the highway.. I mean,, I don't advocate speeding, but if you must , its better to be safe than sorry. But that's a muscle car life.. Speeding down the highway.. 
 Now ,. my latest story is this,, one night on the Nascar 15 in Tenecula , I was driving home at about a 85-90 clip. when this shiny red corvette with a young kid urging me to race him,, i would of , but my detector was going off.. he soon took off. and of course moments later , well actually at the next exit , he was pulled over.. My estimation he was going 120 + ME... i SLOWED TO 80... while the CHP raced. by,, Hey ,, I know how that feels,,, That's why I use a radar detector and don't speed at night.. it's so hard to see those guys at night.. But of course .. I get challenged, tail gated, etc. because everyone thinks they are a race driver.. But guess what? What do we gain racing one another? A ego boost , a ticket , or worst yet causing a crash.. I know.. Its the muscle car mentality.. You have to be bad ass al the time.. But as I get older and alot less bolder.. Just driving around with beauty is almost enough fun for me.. But on those occasion's when I want to let it rip..  Inland Empire. has many wide open roads to enjoy my ride,,, I Love San Diego.. but it doesn't have enough places for me to drive my car fast like the Temecula valley area.. Hey, the main reason I love my ride is that gives me the pride and satisfaction, after all those years serving this great nation, The car represents my sacrifices and pains with my family. The car is me.. the car is an extension of who I am..and If you don't have such a special car , then you don't know the feeling. But if you want to feel the passion,, Attend a car show , big, small, classic,, muscle or what,, The feelings and emotions from the car enthusiasts is overwhelming and contagious.. I know its hard to explain the feelings I get when I drive beauty , but one thing is for sure.. Its my last new car and only car I want until the end of days.. Unless I win the lottery and of course I would get a Corvette , Or Viper or both.. But for now. Black beauty is my girl that I love to show off every time I drive her and she always performs when I want her too and always looks and feels good.. It sound like a human.. its funny us car folks,, We think our cars are human like and that's why we spend so much time with our girl... The Ride, the Car, the thing that brings a smile to our face.. Like I said.. if you want to feel or see the passion we feel,, Come chat with A muscle car person.. and mention their car,, You will hear and see the passion in our eyes and smiles,,, We love our muscle cars because its a way of life, a way of thinking , a way living.. and unless you own one.. RAIDERS ON OFFENSE- The last time out the Raiders and Derek Carr had a 4 TD day against that charger defense , and ever since that game.. The Charger defense has been exposed.. No pass rush, slow linebackers,, with the back ups and a secondary that is taking turns sitting on the bench.. The Raiders have a Rb tandem that is ready to explode with Mcfadden and Jones drew..and a offensive line that is angry.. But my take is the raiders are going to test the corners once again  to build a lead and once they have it.. Run the ball to slow the game down and keep the ball away from Rivers and the Chargers.. 

RAIDERS ON DEFENSE- They have a big line that can do things , against the Broncos , they raised havoc, blocked passes and picks for the defense,, The problem.. they only did it for one half.. Football is 60 minutes and the raiders don't do that , that's why their have lost since last year and counting.. The defense when the game is one the line fail to force turnover's and have trouble tackling anyone with mean intentions.. 

RAIDERS INTANGIBLES.. its clear. they are tired of losing, they are angry bunch. but all that emotion is not enough to win a game.. They fail to do the right thing during the crunch times of the games.. Derk Carr is a turnover machine because he doesn't want to get sacked or tackled.. I hate to say it , but he is going through what his older brother went through.. Getting his ass kicked every game.. It gets old , hence,, bad decisions and a high volume of sacks.. Its that time of the season. alot of the raider players are thinking about vacations, off season plans..and taking care of their bodies for next season.. For those under contract , they will protect themselves, or make business decisions,, so in essence, if the raiders get behind early or late, they will not give it their all like last week.. They know , there is no play offs in the future and based on how everything is going.  A new Coach will be hired, new system to study for.. and another uncertain future other than.. They are laughing stocks of the league.. Its one thing to lose  alot , but no NFL team wants to be the first team to lose to them..and I expect a maximum effort from the Chargers.

CHARGERS ON OFFENSE. They escaped with a win in Oakland weeks , ago,, and I expect them to use their reliables like gates and Allen.. With Mathews back back, expect the Bolts to run more and watch for BO to make some sproles like , an wood head like plays.. expect a ball control offense that will score early and often,, to take the will from the losing raiders.. Rivers will be ready to get back on track and expect a solid offensive effort by the Chargers.. I know its a rival game.. But Don't be surprised if the Chargers roll up alot of points on the Fading raiders.. The raiders have a injured secondary and a worn out line , the Chargers are coming off a bye and many of the stars will be back and playing. 

CHARGERS ON DEFENSE.. Will the real charger defense show up.. the one causing turnover's or the one letting teams impose their will. I expect a healthy , and hungry defense ready to explode.. Because the raiders have struggled, I see the Chargers going after Carr and Company and causing turnovers and mistakes .. The Chargers will play tough hard nose football and They will create many scoring chances for their team.. The chargers were not prepared for the raiders offense earlier this year , because they had nothing to show,,, But now, they have film on that offense and they have their defensive stars back and ready to roll.. 

CHARGERS INTANGIBLES- The chargers are on a losing streak, and they are angry about that. They have leaders like Rivers , Gates, weddle to get them fired up for this Sundays game.. The q will be rocking and because of all the hype and disrespect being tossed around about both teams.. The Chargers will play hard , smart and energized and treat the Home crowd to a  solid and lop sided win, Rivers and company will have a big day and the defense will add that missing link ,, that has been missing the last three weeks.. With Mathews, Oliver and the Browns in there.. expect alot of good things and I like the Davis on special teams.. It will be a nice game for Chargers fans.. and another humbling loss for the raiders,, who at this stage of the season,,, are just looking to stay healthy and start anew next year.. With a new coach and new attitude..

Marty Blog 7 - return from injury. Nov 10, 2014..
    Well its been 4 weeks since my last Marty blog.. To be honest it has been tough for the both of us. Because I'm his biggest fan.. watching # 21 at praise and games have been spectacular this year. I know I have posted many practices and game footage of his record setting season at lake Elsinore Pop Warner. 
 But tomorrow night ,, He will be back, I will have the camera going and I will be cheering him on,, Because this Saturday is his tams bowl game In lake Elsinore Ca.. I'm excited to see him play his last game of the season.. I want him to have a monster game and I ant him to show off his skills.. I know this is his first game back,, But I know he will excel,, Then we have a off season to get him ready for next years season. 
 We plan to work on his speed, catching the ball and endurance. And yes,, I'm very involved in his workouts and I take no credit other than genetics.. regarding his play , because I'm so proud of him.. I know during my athletic career, I never had a season like he had , and that's the truth.. My wifey asked me all the time.. "Have you ever done anything like that?I said yes , but it took multiple seasons , I never had a season like he had.. and that's hard truth.. I know fathers like to think , they were beast back in the day.. I was more play boy ,, than player. I liked fast cars and fast girls more than doing repetitive football practice.. that's why he has done so well.. He attends practice and he listens to his coaches,, While I was a show off, a rebel and undisciplined player. But hey that's was me .. 
 My son Marty is a ball player , a hard nose , dedicated player with great speed. 4.7 for a 12 year old.. I ran 4.3 as a high schooler , but at 12 years old ,that's insane speed,, and that's why he has made so many t runs this year..
  My take is that I expect him to have a great bowl game this Saturday and I expect to post the videos and pictures of his performance and I expect to have a great off season, getting him ready for another great year of football. Its fun to have  son that is so humble and talented,, Something I should of been back in the day.. I'm glad he didn't inherit my attitude ,, if anything he has my wife's humility and quiet confidence.. he lets others talk bout him.. which is great.. He lets me talk about him and I know I embarrass him but I'm a loud and proud father .. and I want the best for him.. If anything I learned an lot this season. Like learning to be calmer and less aggressive with parents, because they all have their own concerns and ideas about how football should be played. I learned that kids can teach you alot about yourself.. Like learning to be patient.. When Marty was hurt, I was going crazy not able to post his highlights,, but patience is a virtue and it gave me more time to take care of my college studies and house work.. But I know this season finale football game is going to be fun,, and I'm excited to see him play.. 
 My son Marty is back from injury and I'm excited to post videos and pictures of him this week,, and I just hope he stays healthy and has a great bowl game.. Because all of his play activities is fro him , but I 'm not going to lie,, I love every minute he practises and plays , because I know time flies,,, I used to watch my eldest son play football and it passed and went so fast.. Now its my baby son,, and I'm going to assist him be the best he can be.. Because that's what true parents do.. We provide and assist our kids, to be the best and act accordingly. I teach my son , lead by example and be a team player, because those lifelong traits will help you be productive in life.. No matter sports, academics or work. No one will hate you if you do your best and want the same for others.. Its hard to be a leader , and lonely at times, But I have taught him to stand up and be counted and do your best always. not only for your parents approval , but your own. self worth.. SPIRITUAL SUNDAY , NOV 9,2014..
  Well another nice and relaxing day in Socal. I have lived all around the world.. Philippines, Japan, Washington State, Florida , Oakland Ca , Long Beach .. San Diego , etc.. and One thing is certain. Everyone wants to live stress free or crime free. But we all know not everyone is on good terms with God , with life or with themselves.. Its a shame because I have seen people , good hearted people. but simply are lost , misguided or troubled bout things that have no relevancy in their lives. But some people , get caught up with, Why has this happened to me? Or why do they hate me, or why do I get taken advantage of? We all have been used and abused by family , friends, fellow students, etc. and alot of us think .. Its always me.. ? But I realize , everyone gets used and abused and its those that have a realistic approach in life ,, you can overcome obstacles, misfortunes, worries,, hard ships,, Its just life... We all will lose someone close , we all will get disappointed , or make mistakes,, We will for the rest of our lives. But don't take it so hard.. Because that's what life is.. Its a spiritual journey , guided by our own fears , ambitions, goals.. But we must move on.. Its easy to give up , it takes true character to keep going.. and for alot of us.. Whats important is family , future  , retirement years.. We all have to plan for it.. Either by establishing goals and plans, or just educating oneself , every Day , every hour.. Learning is life long. Nobody knows everything , we all need advice or tips once in awhile, A wise person takes all information into account and makes their own decisions in life.. Nothing in life comes easy, it takes time to achieve anything. I realize that life is a constant cycle of ups and downs and overcoming trouble and issues, no matter what.. Nothing stays the same.. even though we feel or believe it should be that way. But its like your garden or yard... Some plants grow well. others seem to struggle an others simply don't survive.. No matter what.. It seems some people chive more than others and others seem to struggle. Its just life.. But , I feel the ones that have a spiritual well being , a belief in being good and doing good for others ,, you will have the blessings in life. I believe my blessings in my life , because I love my family , I think about whats good for them and i want to provide for them, no matter what. Its what makes you or others you know a good parent , a good friend,  good lover,  good person. I really believe " karma " is a real spiritual happening. I have seen it , when I help people. I feel good and I get feel good things happen to me.. But those times when I was angry , upset and causing verbal . mental or physical discomfort.. it comes back to you with more energy and hatred.. I know through experience, life waits on no one,, if you let it ride you , it will ride you , but if you control your emotions, nd have faith that things will come true.. They will. I have seen it.. When I first joined the navy mny years go. I never thought it would be a life changing and career spending event. But often times the best things that happen if life , is where you have to work hard and earn your respect,, than the easy come easy go things that happen in your life... I found that when you have to work hard for anything , you appreciate things. Like career, like my wife  and my kids.. I worked hard to provide for them and I worked hard to make sure they understand life is not easy.. If you want anything, you have to work hard and appreciate what you have because , anything in life can be taken away at a moments notice.. Now that I have lived a long life , 50 years and counting, I don't take things for granted, because I have lost loved ones, friends, shipmate's,, etc, when you lest expect it.. and don't get me wrong.. It hurt me many times over.. But I know,. You have to enjoy each day , you are here on earth because,, being positive and having faith , will help you overcome the obstacles in life,, Because turning to drinking , drugs, dangerous driving , or gambling are not stress reliefs.. They are just ways to escape.. By guess what,,, no matter how hard you party , or what.. Those issues or trouble re still there... nd punishing ones mind or body with careless acts,, only destroys how you feel later in life.. 
 My lesson is this,,, Be positive and have faith ,, because when all others laugh and make fun of you.. The Almighty one will always be there.. I know because many times , I thought I couldn't;t do it,, But with my faith ,, I overcame loneliness, depression, wars, fights, stress, accidents at sea .. I have seen his goodness and I know.. My time will come when I will be put into place to use my skills.. and I'm looking forward to it.. Its how you prepare for the future , that keeps you daily living in tact. By living a spiritual and unselfish life.. Than, when all the naysayers and haters that try to put you down.. Simply cant'.. because you are true to your mission and goal and keeping the faith , that all tough times will come to pass and you will overcome.. Don't Hate ,, instead be good to people and don't expect anything in return.. DO something good because its whats in your heart.. By expecting something in return , you are just setting yourself up for disappointment. Humans are not perfect , but we all should try to be good to one another.. Its more than " Karma " its what being human is,, The act of giving , forgiving and helpful.. That's why we are above animals... But it seems greed, ego and personal agendas; is what drives alot of us at times.. Be spiritual today keep learning how to be good or be helpful and help those that need or ask for help.. Because you want to,,not because you feel forced too.. By giving and not expecting something in return.. Is that spiritual giving that make your life happier and healthier... Be happy my friends and stay spiritual no matter what!! Have a great day!!

BROWNS AT BENGALS -The Battle of Ohio, The browns are playing better than ever, Their defense has some skill players , especially corner Haden. The Bengal's are the better team offensively and defensively , and I expect a Bengal win with Andy Dalton and company having a big day. 
SUNDAY 
CHIEFS AT BILLS- The Chiefs are fighting for a playoff spot and they are that goo, The Bills are up and coming , and will battle hard. But I like Alex Smith and Jamaal Charles being too much to handle and the Chiefs continue their run for a wild card spot. 
DOLPHINS AT LIONS-The Lions have a winning record without Megatron and Reggie Bush, The Dolphins destroyed the Chargers and will have a let down , against a tough defensive team. I like the Lions controlling the game with that aggressive defense and ball control offense.
COWBOYS AT JAGUARS- My upset special f the week, Because its not really a home game for the jaguars its hard to pick them, but they have battled hard all season long. The Cowboys will start weeden and Romo will have to watch his team struggle with out him. 
49ERS AT SAINTS-The niners are struggling . losing at home aganst the Rams was heartbreaking, but the problem is Drew Brees and the Saints are unbeatable at home and I feel the streak continues , They will pass and run with ease over the injury plagued niners. This might be a lopsided win for the saints.. 
TITANS AT RAVENS-The Ravens have the better team and they will dominate the Titans, I expect Flacco and company having big days. They the ravens are just too physical and mentally tough for this team that has inconsistency issues on offense and defense.. 
STEELERS AT JETS - The Steelers have been unstoppable the past few weeks, and the streak continues.. The Jets are in trouble,,, they have no offense to sustain drives and a defense that is shell shocked. Rex Ryan is trying to save this team, but they have no chemistry or true leaders , Michael Vick is a slight improvement , but he's not the future.. This could be a lopsided win for the rejuvenated Steelers who are fighting to win THE AFC north.. 
FALCONS AT BUCCANEERS-The Falcons are the biggest disappointment this year and hey did destroy the bucs earlier this year, but since that blow out the Bucs have played better and this is my other upset special. Lovie Smith will confuse the falcons offense and the Bucs offense will do enough to win this game.. 
BRONCOS AT RAIDERS The Broncos are the best team in the AFC DESPITE the blow out loss to the Patriots , they are upset and they will manhandle the raiders,, The raiders will score late scores to make it closer , but the Broncos will score early and often .. The only bright spot for the raiders is Derrick Carr and Khalil Mack,, the problem is the other players on the team.. 
RAMS AT CARDINALS - The Rams are the upset spoilers of the year, but The Cardinals are playing balanced and steady football. Maybe not overwhelming , but its effective, Carson Palmer is playing better than ever and Larry Fitgerald has found the fountain of youth. The cardinals are fighting to win the Division as well as get home field advantage throughout the playoffs,, and if they make it to the SUPERBOWL.. ITS BEING PLAYED IN ARIZONA.. UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM,
GIANTS AT SEAHAWKS -The Seahawks are struggling , but I see improvement in their whole team play , they will play hard and give the fans a steady and solid win. The Giants are talented , but in that arena with the 12th man.. I don't see Eli, having enough success to win on the road. 
SUNDAY NIGHT 
BEARS AT PACKERS -The Packers are the most steady and consistent team in the NFC north, the bears are something else. This could be a great game. but I see cutler folding under pressure,, Aaron Rodgers is a awesome qb and I expect him to deliver a solid performance despite the hamstring injury. This will be a dog fight , tough game because they are rivals , but The Packers are more consistent at this time of the year. 
MONDAY NIGHT 
PANTHERS AT EAGLES -The Mark Sanchez show takes off, I like Sanchez since his USC days, and he's smarter and wiser, and using this second chance to be a starter, to his advantage. The Eagles have one of the best offenses in the league and have  great special teams, They find ways to win and I expect them to win the division and be a true contender for the Superbowl run.. They play team offense ad defense as well as special teams.. 
These are my picks , but I wouldn't be surprised if the opposite happen. But I based my selections on consistency of play at quarterback and how balanced the whole team plays as well as coaching decisions.. I'm better on Thursday and Sunday night , while Monday nights I'm 5-5.. Enjoy this weekend!!

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY NOV 4, 2014..
  Today should be a day of respecting one another as human beings. We are not perfect and we are affected by emotions, stress , past history , future fears.. Its what makes us human, But one thing is clear , your family should come first no matter what. 
 Your family health , your family's future.. Should be number one.. I know having kids, its a tough road, everyone lives a different path , no mater what ,, What worked for you, does nit make it work for others. But a wise person takes different perspective's into account. But a true parent makes the best choices for their family. like education, morals values, comes first over , pride , over ego , over attention grabbing moments. 
 I teach my kids to do the right thing and be mindful, what you do affects not only you but your parents, but we all know peer pressure is a bitch. so to speak, by hopefully , my many times of lecturing and reminding them that to be good takes alot of work.  As a parent , I have dealt with teen emotions, arguments , difference of opinions, but that's part of growing up. We cant expect our kids to behave properly all the time.. Heck  i know adults that don't behave properly , so why would I think my kids would. But having them understand what their actions does to their perception and image, is what I remind them of,, when dealing with social media, internet or even texting. Words are powerful instrument when one use it, but having a responsible and proper outlook on life , is what I preach ad teach to my kids and family. Because whether we like it or not,, Its a politically correct society, and what one hears or sees in ones behaviour can change what people think of you. In regards to the events in news or life. I want just want my kids to be aware of their surroundings and be mindful of peoples rights as human beings. We all have different points of view about money, about raising kids , or living life. What I want my kids to understand is, be your own person, don't be caught up with stereotypes and don't be a follower just to be liked. Be a individual with common sense and responsible behaviour and control one emotions. For those that do that m they are better suited to deal with life's troubles.. or events. I teach my kids to be in control of their emotions and thoughts and be mindful of what you say or do. Don't say something or do something , just for attention. Let your actions speak louder than your words and be a productive citizen , instead of a disruptive one. Its one thing to be opinionated, and strong, its another to be stubborn and attentive grabbing.. In life , a true leader leads by example and doesn't contradict one self. In regards to life, I like to stand my ground regarding issues, but I also respect those that have differing ideas and thoughts. Its a true American way of thinking. We are never going to be in full agreement , but by having respect for the laws of the land and the moral values of mankind. Everyone can succeed and achieve what they want our of life. No one ever told me life would be easy and its not. But having a clear perspective and what is your goal and aspirations , can lead you to the path of success. Its the ones that let emotions, jealousy and ego that hinder people from achieving their goals. Nothing great in life just happened. It takes hard work, patience and belief in what your doing no matter what the nay sayers and losers in life. But standing your ground and doing what makes you happy , it the best advice you can give anyone.. in life.. Because life is a moment in time and it goes by so fast. I found that enjoying every moment , every crisis , every disappointment is all part of life , we live , we learn, we cry , we laugh , we live and ultimately we die,, But if you stay true to your beliefs and live life as you want it..Then you should not regret anything n life.. I always say to my kids.. I never regret anything I did,, good or bad,, instead I regret anything I didn't do !! IN MY LIFE , some of the greatest lessons have come from failures and defeats.. Its humbles you and makes you feel alive. 
 My final thought is this.. Live your live on your own terms and be happy with what you have and love your family always... We have family and we love them unconditionally , regardless if they are too loud, too pushy, annoying , etc.. Its family,, we need to deal with it.. Because everyone has the loud and proud uncle , or that attentive grabbing aunt or the provocative dressing niece or nephew.. Its all all a part of life.. Its makes family parties exciting and new.. I know ,, nothing in life is perfect and simple,.. if you think it is. Your living in a dream world. Life will always be full of trial and tribulations.. Its the ones that accept it and go with it,, are the ones that will be able to handle life.. 
The ones that cant handle the stresses of life.. are the ones complaining, whining , killing each other ,, with their hatred.. Be happy and smile and spread it to others.. Because in this world so full of negativity , its refreshing to see people express happiness and good will to one another!! These are my thoughts for today.. Just think about being happy,, because you never know what life may have for you good or bad.. I rather smile and be happy then sad and depressed. Just my thoughts.. I hope you agree!

CHARGERS VS DOLPHINS- THE MASSACRE IN MIAMI NOV 2014...

CHARGERS VS DOLPHINS - THE MASSACRE IN MIAMI NOV 2014..
   The San Diego Chargers were tricked and treated to a worst defeat in franchise history, I mean , come on guys, you made the inconsistent dolphins look like the greatest show on turf. It was bad enough to be out played at home by the Chiefs and then follow up that performance on national TV and get blown out by the Broncos.. those late scores were garbage points against the broncos and the dolphins game just showed what this team is made of? 
  First of,, enough of the injury excuse, the chargers are soft, I mean young players like ingraham, teo , etc.. are getting hurt when they are young , what happens when they get older , if they last that long. Second , the players that are replacing them are not better , and are essentially role players that have played out their potentials.. Without Rivers this team can be 0-9 easy , Rivers saved those other games the bolts won.. I mean beating the Jaguars, Jets and Raiders ,, with a combined record of losing doesnt make you a contender. Yes, the Chargers developed great stats early , but now they have the worst ed zone defense in the league, they cant stop the run or pass, they have no pass rush and no fire on defense. I'm not surpirsed because no leaders on defense. Weddle is the only one , but you need more than that. As for the offense. You have Rivers , but no running back leader , no wide out leader. I like Malcolm ,but he is no leader and keenan allen needs to step up his play. Its easy to break out in your rookie year when you don't have film on you,, This year , he has been disappointing to say the least. I have watched a lot of Charger football. This was the worst I ever saw,, They had no fire or desire , and they just went through the motions.. The one guy that had fight was tutu , but no one helped him out , if you watch the replays. He was fighting for the chargers  but the chargers have a bunch of characters , but not enough with true character's. Case in point.. The Steelers , got their butts kicked weeks ago.. But their Leaders on the team . said enough is enough and now playing some of the best football today. Hard nose , kick ass,, tough football. Not. looking for flags , or looking for others to bail them out.. They are fighters,that's why they have won the most Superbowl's , and have some of the most loyal fans in the league. They play football , like its supposed to be.. tough , grinding , in your face physical football. 
 But the chargers don't want to play that ? The book is out , get physical and take the desire from this team , they don't have the mental attitude to bounce back.. It showed against the chief, broncos and now the dolphins... Thank goodness for a break? heck they have been on a break since the chiefs game.. The Raiders are coming and to be honest they were dominating the chargers earlier in the season, before they imploded.. but since then they have payed hard and shown more heart the chargers , if the chargers have true character then they will regroup and bet the raiders , but too many excuses about injuries , about the tough schedule and having a young coach , rookie coordinator, yeah , yeah,, yeah, but the bottom line.. players have to play.. and the Chargers are not playing well.. 
 case in point.. Rivers was taken out , and clemens did worse .. because no pass protection,no communicating among wide outs and just being out played and out hustled. The culture of the chargers is not good, they are not tough enough to be contenders. They started strong only to be exposed as a team that beats bad teams and lose to the true contenders. I know , alot of you guys think dolphins are a bad team,, if that's true,, then the chargers are horrible.. \
   Lets hope the core players like Mathews, teo/Ingrahan, Flowers , Verret and others heal up and come to play , because after the raiders and rams , beatable teams we hope,?, come the true heart of the schedule .. Broncos, Ravens, Patriots , 49ers and Chiefs.. All contenders in my mind and the Bolts need to have a win out to even have  a chance for the playoffs and based on how they have played this year home and on the road. That may not happen, if you don't have pass protection or run game or a defense that has no pass rush and a hurt and depleted secondary and lets not forget the painfully slow linebackers,, and back ups to say the least.  All those teams have superbowl winning or playoff experience on their side .. The Charger staff has a young head coach , a rookie coordinator and a emotional quarterback that when things go wrong resorts to  the losing rivers ,, 2010-12- where he loves to throw it up.. those years he threw the most picks of any qb in the league.. 
  Bottom line,
   it doesn't matter if we get Mathews back, with no pass or run blocking , he's a hit away from being injured and probably has no eager need to return anytime soon. On defense , we have no pass rush and the linebackers we do have are getting run over by lineman and running backs,,, or even quartrebacks,, tannehill run over the bolts.. so did alex smith ,, and lets not forget charles , and former san diego state star hillman. Whats troubling is that the charger fans think the chargers are contenders, lets not forget the bolts needed a missed field goal to make the playoffs last year , plus a total collapse from other afc team last year..BUt Guess what? The Steelers, ravens and even the Chiefs are better than last year.. 
 While the chargers ,, at first looked better , but too many injuries to key players and a rookie offensive coordinator has been their downfall. We cant blame the chargers, they are playing to their potential , the problem is , they are not that good.  My analysis is this , the chargers will be hard pressed to duplicate last years 9-7 record and playoff berth. 
 Based on the many issues they have, back up centers , who cant stay healthy , offensive linemen geting hurt weekly and lets not forget the defense taking turns sitting on the bench, ingrahma, teo, flowers, verret. Its the hard truth.. The chargers lack the character to bounce back and fight , I saw it in the Chiefs and Broncos loss and saw it when TUTU was fighting the dolphins and no one helped him out. Maybe its not just the chargers , its just today's youth, that doesn't have the fire and desire like alot of the old timer fans we are. But atleast the old Charger teams win or loss m they had fight in them.. But today's group was embarrassing last Sunday and to be honest the past 3 weeks and counting. I hope they have to swallow up and hear all those nay sayers , the east coast media , saying " The same old story with the chargers, tease their fans with early success , only to choke in clutch , crunch time.. Its maddening to be a charger fan..because for 50 year and counting seem to always give us hope early ,late in the season, only to break our hearts at the end.. I used to get mad, even cry when they did that to me.. But now ,, I come to just accept it , as the way the chargers play.. I used to fight that notion from other fans bases,, but after so many years of the same trend.. Its sad but true , the chargers seem to always find a  way to spoil a great thing. From the one championship year in 1963 , and since then the team has faltered when it mattered most. The  The Air Coryell, Bobby(boss)  Ross , to Marty Schottenheimer years.. the Owners , and fans have little patience when things go bad, and because of that lack of patience.. the Chargers are going to destroy another hopeful season , because the fans and owners of the chargers don't realize you need quality players to win championships , not bargain basement , often injured players with no leadership skills. Maybe its a San Diego curse issue , because once upon a time the Padres had a great manager Bochy.. remember him,, he's a 3 time world series manager , for the San Francisco giants.. But why cry about that? 
  The San Diego Chargers need to realize this team needs help in the upcoming drafts or free agency, before they can be true contenders for years. The 6 years years of nervous norv , will take a little more time to fix.. Lets hope Rivers can play another 5-7 years , because if not than like the raiders until they found carr, the chargers maybe looking at being cellar dwellars and that's whats in store of they don't address the many issues I have listed. I'm a gambling man, and I wouldn't bet on this team winning the division or earning a wild card spot , with the roster they have now.. but then again this is the NFL - THE NO FIGURE LEAGUE, and stranger things have happened. Its just a shame the Chargers are not taking advantage of the most unpredictable years in the NFL.. But , lets hope this long break form football doesn't waken their spirit, but based on how they have played this year, its hard to think they can turn things around.. with out a solid offensive line, running game and no pass rush and slow line backers and a often injured secondary.. 
    The Massacre in Miami , could be a turning point for this season, but the trends and straight stats about lowest running game and the last place rated red zone defense , serves the recipe for losing then to winning. But that's why they play the games, games are won the field , not in the night clubs of Miami or San Diego.. Instead of having a team with character , instead we have a bunch of characters that want to do more scoring at night clubs than on the football field.. Hey the truth hurts the 3 game losing streaks has displayed how badly this team has become. After the bye week we will see the real chargers show up.? The one that was 5-1 rated number one , or the 5-4 , on a 3 game losing streak that cant score against a mediocre team.. Its no wonder the east coast media doesn't take the chargers seriously because the charger team doesn't care either? Until the next blog.. have a great day!!
