SAINTS AT PANTHERS-The Saints are winners and awesome at home, but on the road they are totally different. But can they do it on the Road? The Panthers haven't played great defense this year and Cam Newton and that offense is still trying to figure their identity. I can see both team winning , but I don't trust that Saints defense on the road and Panthers are playing better defense than the saints.
SUNDAY
BUCCANEERS AT BROWNS-The Bucs were supposed to be the surprise team this year , its been more of a trick or treat year for them one week awesome the next horrible.. Just like their arena looking uniforms.. You either love them or hate them.. I hate the new uniforms and I hate how this team plays.. Browns will dominate and humiliate the strangest playing team in the NFL..
CARDINALS AT COWBOYS - The cowboys has been a pleasant surprise, they are running well and winning games.. Now if Romo plays or not , it doesn't matter, The Cardinals are the under the radar team playing the most consistent , mistake free football, they just go out an win.. I expect them to blitz and dominate the cowboys.. on the road. Carson Palmer will have big days and they will display why they are one of the true contenders for the Title..
EAGLES AT TEXANS - The Texans are good, but I dont trust fitzpatrick, even at home. The eagles are playing balanced football and gave a great fight with one of the leagues best teams. They are angry and they will show the nation why they are so dangerous.. Too many weapons on offense and special teams.
JETS AT CHIEFS -In Vick we trust , the Jets and Rex Ryan are desperate , Harvin is a great player , but thier is no chemsitry on the Jets, like the raiders , a mismatch of talent with no team work. The Chiefs are the wild card team of the year,, Andy Reid has all his key players in tact and they are playing like contenders. easy win at home.. Charles in charge will have a big day.
JAGUARS AT BENGALS- The Bengals need to get back on track, thank goodness for the Jaguars, The Bengals will score early and often and the Jags will be over matched. Andy Dalton will have a big day and the Bengal nation will be smiling!!
CHARGERS AT DOLPHINS- My upset special.. so to speak. The Chargers haven't won In Miami in 33 years.. The Chargers need to get the running game going to ease the pass rush and Rivers can do his magic.. I see gates and Allen having big days as well as Branden Oliver. The defense will play better , buy I wouldn't be surprised this is a shoot out in Miami..
REDSKINS AT VIKINGS- The Vikings are playing better , but I just like the way the redskins played, great defense and balanced offensive attack. Just follow that formula and I can see another solid win for Jay gruden and his squad. RGIII may be back, and that could ignite the redskins into playing better.
RAMS AT NINERS- The Rams with Austin Davis and Coach Fisher with his special team tricks worked in a couple of games , but I don't see that happening again. The Niners are getting healthy and they want to make a statement to the league. Winning cures all rumors and I'm sure coach harbaugh has had enough of those media induced rumors. They the Niners will play better expect big games by all their players..
BRONCOS AT PATRIOTS- True Game of the week. Manning vs Brady. but the broncos have the better defense, and quarterback. The Patriots are not as loaded as the broncos , but at home The Pats are unbeatable and they are playing better and in a close game I trust Brady to pull it off at home.
RAIDERS AT SEAHAWKS- The Raiders are 0-7 and counting , whats weird the raiders play better on the road, but they still lose. The seahawks are angry and at home , I see them destroying the Raiders, It will be noisy and the young qb, Carr is in for a rude awakening, Mcfadden and Jone's drew need to get the running game going for them to have a chance.. But Its that part of the season raiders decide , just to go through the motions. Russel Wilson will get the hawks flying high in this home game.. Expect a dominating and decisive win.
SUNDAY NIGHT
RAVENS AT STEELERS- What a game , this best rivalry today , they hate one another and this Will be war. The steelers don't have the same defense , but if Big Ben , keeps rolling like he has been , I see the Steelers winning a tough game. Joe Flacco will make plays , but not enough to win. Expect a hard hitting low scoring game..
MONDAY NIGHT
COLTS AT GIANTS - The colts were destroyed by the steelers and on the road, against a talented team, Its hard to pick them, but its Andrew Luck, the Colts have to play better defense , but I see the pridefully Giants , playing well for their coach and earn a tough win at home.
These are my picks , last week was tough week, but this years NFL is so tough to be consistent, but great qb play and steady defenses is the formula I'm banking on , as well as trends. What do you think , have a great day and football weekend!!

NFL = NO FIGURE LEAGUE 2014..\
This more than any other year , has been the weirdest , and the most unpredictable year in the NFL. One week you have the Patriots play awful on national tv against the Chiefs than go on a magnificent winning streak and face the number rated team in the Broncos.. Then you have the steeelers get blown out by the lowly browns, only to come back and destroy the Colts who at one tine was rated as one the better teams.. Then you have the Seahawks and niners struggling and the surprise teams this year the cardinals even winning with back up qbs and the Lions , winning despite missing Megatron and Reggie Bush.. Who would of thought?? Like the Raiders and Jets playing the worst football in the NFL and the Bucs , playing so poorly with Lovie Smith at coach. Ist been that kind of year ? The Cowboys were playing the best football until the melt down in Dallas.. Romo , bless his heart played his best , but his injury is alot more serious than the cowboys want to say, But thats ok,, if they want to risk a player life and limb , so be it.. I mean , Romo has had punctured lings, broken ribs, broken back, and surgeries to repair them, but Guess what? Its for the love of the game, right, but when is that feasible when you see a man so desperate to win a ring,, that is Romo and Jerry JOnes.. but to sacrifice a mans health for it? Is it worth it? For the Cowboys its obvious they say yes, so what if romo cant walk properly when his career is over, but the way I see it, he is one big hit away from being done,, same with Peyton manning , But one thing is certain Manning is smart enough to hit the deck if protection breaks down.. Romo made a poor decision in taking the hit, but thats Romo , more guts than brains at time.. But he will come back , he has done it before and its the boys only chance. Murray is great , but without a passing threat he will be a dead duck,,, The boys when they had a chance to make a statement at home, instead laid an egg against a 3rd string quarterback and a bad football team.. Ok division rival , but losing at home , means you didn't take care of business.. Kind of like the Chargers failing to beat the chiefs,, at home,, they both failed to seal the deal. And because of that they will both have a Battle to make the playoffs.. The C0wboys are contenders because the Giants and eagles and still question marks and the skins are a work in progress. But the cowboys need to feed the beast ,, Murray and keep imposing their will, they got away from that against the skins and that's why they lost. The defense held the skins to 17 pts in regulation, more than enough but the offense in crunch time decided to leave it in romo's hands , when they should stuck with the run... They lost their focus,, but like many times over with Romo at the helm, they always fold in final minutes. But they will have another chance to erase that bad taste next week,, Only problem they are playing one of the better teams in the league ,, They Call them the Arizona Cardnals great defense and aggressive pass rush and a offense with weapons at wide outs.. Its gonna be a dog fight , that is ,, if romo is good, but feel me,, on this one.. The cardinals will go after the hurting and limited romo.. My take they should of let him rest , but they thought they could get romo magic.. But if anything it aggravated the injury more and perhaps jeopardizes their season.. With romo and murray , they are contenders, with out either or none of them.. They are not. But stranger things have happen this year , but they must protect romo better especially against the cardinals ... next week, or they will suffer another tough loss. Its been that kind of year , and to pick a consistent team.. I would say its the Broncos and Cardinal's and don't be surprised if those consistent teams end up in the SUPER BOWL.. and if that happens.. I can see manning finally getting another ring.. He has already beaten the cardinals and if they face again.. I see the bronco's winning easily.. But we still have season to play and anything can or will happen this year. Lets hope we see more consistent play from other teams , so that the playoffs will be fun to watch, If not,, Then the Manning show will get his ring and be strongly considered one of the greatest qbs in NFL history. He has the offense and the defense this year. No excuses Peyton... Put up or shut up in the playoffs,. and out the critics to rest.. If their was a year for you to win it all,,, Why not this year? When the steelers have a work in progress defense as well as the patriots,,, and with the seahawks struggling and the cardinals as the only other defense capable of slowing you down.. I can see the ring for the Broncos,, Like deion sanders said " Its don't mean a thing with out a ring!" Rings so true in today's culture.. Stats are nice , records are cool. but all those things can be broken or taking away, A SUPER BOWL RING is yours forever and that's where your legacy lies if your a NFL player.. Its sad but true, but it doesn't mean a thing without a RING!!!UNTIL my next blog.. Enjoy football!!

THURSDAY NIGHT
CHARGERS AT BRONCOS -This could be the game of the week, because it might also be a passing attack air show. Its tough to play in Mile high , the loud crowd, the no huddle fast pace offense will be tough to defend for the Chargers, who are hurting, but its a team game and I like the way the chargers are playing, if Rivers has time m he can make things happen, The battle may be between Oliver and Hillman, Who has the better game. It will be fun, and I see the Chargers winning a close game using the run game and controlling the clock..

LIONS AT FALCONS(LONDON)- The Lions are playing the best defense in all of the NFL, the offense without megatron and Reggie Bush is hurting them, but the falcons are lousy on defense and just not playing consistent winning football. I like the Lions in a low scoring game.
RAMS AT CHIEFS-The Rams behind the great passing attack by Austin Davis ,, the Drew Bree's Look alike, but against a tough ad hard hitting defensive team like the chiefs,Charles is a beast and Alex Smith is playing good safe football. I see the running game and ball control offense , earning a chiefs a tough home win. The Rams will make plays ,but not enough to beat the chiefs on the road.
TEXANS AT TITANS- The Titans are faced with angry Texans team. The Texans have all the play makers on both sides of the ball JJ watt, and arian foster and Andre Johnson are beasts on offense, but they must eliminate turnovers. The Texans will play lights out football and win easily on the road with the running of foster and timely catches by Johnson. Fitzpatrick needs to stay focus and get this team back on track.

Bridgewater is a young and talented QB, but I dont see enough consistency for them to get a road win. The Bucs are a question mark, but I feel they have enough to pull out a tough low scoring game at home.

Mental mistakes on special teams and defense has cost them many games this year. On the road they struggle and another road game against a better team is not good news. The Panthers are struggling on defense , but the offense can score . It will a dog fight , but at home with a more consistent offense and playing at a higher level right now.. Lets me point to a panther win at home. Its panic time for Seattle and because of that we may see more mistakes form a less talented and less focused team.

Tannehill is a good qb and he will make alot of plays against the jaguars. The jaguars will make it fun, but dont have enough to hold of the playoff contending dolphins.
BEARS AT PATRIOTS - The Jay cutler act is getting old.. hes not a leader and the locker room fighting is indications of that. The bears have talent , but don't have leaders, The Patriots are the poster child's of leaders and winners, they will play hard and get them into a season rhythm of winning. Tom Brady may not have manning like stats, but 3 rings are his forever and cant be taken away.. records are meant to be broken, and that's..that. The Brady bunch will school the bears on how to play championship football.
BILLS AT JETS - The Bills switch to Kyle Orton, Cmon man.. The Jets counter with Geno smith, I know he's young and still learning , but hes not improved in his play, but the Jets have a problem. NO true back up to teach him or scare him.The Percy harvin trade is a desperate attempt by Rex Ryan to save his job, it might work on this game, but trends and past behavior will dictate how this team goes and I don't see them having a winning season this year with this group of players.

Carson Palmer is back and is playing well. The cardinals are the least respected team , but could be the surprise team at the end. The win , ugly , but a win is a win and I see another one , with their run stopping and pass defense. The eagles will be grounded , by a ball control, hard hitting team.. The cardinals are playing team football..

The raiders are just too inconsistent and they still have mental break downs. The Browns are playing better and they will have a fun time running against the leagues worst run defense.
COLTS AT STEELERS- The Steelers , escaped with a win last week, but they needed a Texans meltdown, Not this week, The Colts and Andrew Luck show is coming, whats scary is the colts defense is there too. The Colts are true contender and the steelers are a team in transition, The team defense that steelers used to play is gone, they seem to falter late in games. The Colts will score early and often in route to a easy road win.

PACKERS AT SAINTS - When these two teams meet , Rodgers vs, Brees are high scoring games. But the packers have a better defense , and run game. But it could a saints win if they play mistake free football, But The Packers are playing better football and should win , but it will be fun to watch two future hall of famers and record breakers..

Marty Blog 6 - Its tough to get injured.
My son Marty was or still having a record setting season in Pop warner , but as fast as he runs, he was hurt in practice and has been out for almost 3 games.. Its tough to see my son hurt. We both feel the pains. Right now I'm helping him recover with massages, water massage therapy , massaging creams and of course rest.. But the pain on his face hurts me the most. He so wants to get back and play and show off his skills. If anything , I have taken a new perspective about football and life. Enjoy the moments you have , because it can change in a moment. Especially driving , I have seen all kinds of weird and tragic accidents and at times I have wondered , if I was a a second faster or slower I would of crashed.. I'm sure we all have seen that. That's why be happy and enjoy the moments you have,,Because time is fleeting. for me the times I had with my eldest playing football, and dancing in high school were wonderful days, Now we all know .. hen they grow up they want to have their own friends , their own parties , their own life. But isn't that the case when we were kids.. Its the right of passage of life.We all go through phases.when I was younger I couldn't wait to leave the nest and see the world.. Now that I have seen and done that thanks to my 20 + years of navy service.. I want to be around family now. But now the kids of the day want to do the same I did.. karma , faith ,, what comes around goes around..
But for now. I'm rehabbing my son..and hopefully before the season ends.. He can showcase his talents ,,, and prepare for next year.. I'm excited about that. But for now my advice is simple enjoy the times you have with your son or daughter , because they grow up ,,right before our eyes. Do I feel old.. You damn right I do.. But its the cycle of life,, and for now..I want to enjoy the moments and I'm looking forward to whatever life offers me.. because I'm so thankful for each day I'm alive.. and right now. I having the best time of my life because I get to see my kids go off to college and high school very soon,, and hopefully I will see my son Marty.. Showcase his talents and be more careful in practice.. `I want to thank my family and friends that have liked and commented on my face book postings regarding my son.. I'm so proud of him and he has taught me to be more humble and peaceful about his football career and life. Its true , your kids teach you about life , by just being themselves. For all the heart aches and pains they do to our lives.. They also provide the most joy and peace of mind by just being themselves Life is funny on how our kids teach us something about ourselves and life .. Its a humbling moment for me right now.. because I want to brag about my son.. But this quiet time,, has helped me realize .. Football , like life has its ups and downs and for those that know how to handle all phases.. Those are the ones that find peace in life and right now.. I'm finding peace and learning each day to be patient, because my son will recover and he will shine again. but for now I'm learning to adapt to what has happened in his great season.. Be thankful for the moments and be patient because no matter what I love my son and I have enjoyed every moment of his football career. Its like the old saying , " Its not how you start , but how you finish.. IN LIFE , like football we have set backs and hardships.. but it builds character and makes you more focused on whats important in life.. Right now its academics and family time,, that is running my life and football ,, is just a phase in our lives that may lead to higher aspirations.. But if not.. I'm happy with the times I have my my kids because those moments are special and golden because I had a chance to see it up close and personal. As for my son .. I wish and Pray his recovers quickly because that's what a responsible parent does.. But I want him to learn from his mistakes and take it easy in practice and save it for the game,, Until Marty's next blog.. take care always!!

THURSDAY NIGHT
JETS AT PATRIOTS--Tom Brady is back and so is their offense bad news for the Jets , Sure they played better last week against the Broncos , but its clear Geno Smith is still a work in progress. The Jets are a ground and pound team with the players to enforce it. Revis is on the Pats side and that mean more head aches for the Jets. Its a divisional game , but I see the Patriots winning easily because better teams in all phases. Its going to another easy home town win on Thursday night.
SUNDAY
FALCONS AT RAVENS- The Falcons can score but that defense is terrible.. On the road against a good defense , and improved offense Joe Flacco and company will have a fun filled day scoring on this very good offense , but horrible defense.. The ravens are true contenders and they will treat home town fans to another big win!!
TITANS AT REDSKINS- Two similar teams , struggling offenses and defense, who has the better qb, in both cases very debatable, it might be a boring game with the winner going to the team that makes the least mistakes , I see the redskins if RGIII plays , in a tough low scoring win at home.
SEAHAWKS AT RAMS- The Rams played great for 14 minutes before the niners woke up.. Russel Wilson had a bad game and will perform better , its a division game , but the seahawks are too good to lose even on the road.. Lynch and Harvin have big days and the legion of doom defense will control the young qb from the rams..
BROWNS AT JAGUARS- The browns are a good team, they run the ball and play great defense , the jags are horrible at all phases.. Like the raiders they play hard for a half then fall apart. Hoyer is playing very well and the defense feeds off the offensive power and are feeling good about themselves after after a blow out win against the steelers..
BENGALS AT COLTS- The Bengals were destroyed against the Patriots and had a tie last week , now they have to travel to one of the best offenses in the league, Andrew Luck is a true gamer and will play very well at home and treat the bengals to a aerial assault. This could be a aerial show and high scoring game.
VIKINGS AT BILLS- Two similar teams , who has the better qb, I like Kyle Orton, barely , I see a low scoring game and one the least wanted game to watch.Because they have good teams..
DOLPHINS AT BEARS-The Dolphins took a tough loss with the Rodgers ala Dan Marino fake play.. The Bears are as good as Cutler plays, He playing better because he has forte to fall back on. If they play their game I expect a easy win at home , if not don't be surprised in another nail biter.
SAINTS AT LIONS-Drew Brees and the Saints are not the same, losing sproles has hurt the offense and that defense that was supposed to better is actually worse.. I cant or don't see the saints getting better , at least I haven't see it. It could be a aerial show , but that defense he Saints lose because that defense is playing poorly.
PANTHERS AT PACKERS-This could be the game of the week, but I like Rodgers at home the packers defense is playing better and I see a tough low scoring game with Rodgers making enough plays to earn a win at home.

Thanks to great replacement players and coaching. Rivers is having A MVP type year and suddenly Gates is young again. Branden Oliver has been a peasant surprise and I see the Chargers using pass and run to win this game. They will pass to take the lead and run to protect it and win the time of possession stats. expect a loud and proud crowd with the Powder blues and another solid win before they meet their 3rd team in 11 days when they visit Denver on Thursday night.
CARDINALS AT RAIDER- The are one of the better teams in the league and Carson Palmer gets to return to see his old team the raiders. The cardinals are one of the best defenses in the league and will have film on the new Oakland offense. They will apply good pressure because of their star corners in Cromartie and Peterson. Raiders will play hard until the cardinals defense takes over and cause turnovers to happen.
GIANTS AT COWBOYS- The Gmen were embarrassed and they will come out fighting , this will be a fight , but the cowboys run game and romo's passing will be enough to secure a win and be regarded as one of the best teams in the league..

TEXANS AT STEELERS- The Texans are good on defense , but I don trust Fitzpatrick' on the road against a upset steeler team. The steelers are no longer defensive minded. The offense also has struggled , I hate to say it but the steelers need to rebuild both lines and get younger players. They will do enough to win at home because the Texans don't have a franchise qb.. It will be competitive but I see the steelers having enough to beat the Texans at home , but it will be a fight.
what do you think/. I finished 11-3-1 last week , but this is the NFL , NO FIGURE LEAGUE, but fun to watch!!

MARTYS BLOG 5 - THE DRAMA OF YOUTH FOOTBALL ..
I love youth football, the mistakes the errors the kids make. I enjoy their passion to play a game with no pay and adulation.. This is a time when sports is the most real..
But Enter parents with ego's , parents with a chip on their shoulder or parents that were once athletes and never excelled , and thus push their own dreams and desires to their sons..
Was I or am I that kind of father. This is my second son playing youth sports and I enjoyed the first era of that with my son.. Now I get the next era. Every time my son plays I pray that his his safe and doesn't get hurt because as parent, that's our biggest fear.
My son recently injured his ankle ,thus putting a hold on his record setting season, its tough I see the tears , I see the agony in his face as he rehabilitates his ankle. He's a player and he wants to play. I really enjoyed the touch down runs the great blocks , and great defensive play! He's a true team player , but I also see the frustration of him getting hurt. But he;s doing all the remedies and healing techniques I have learned from health professionals and trainers. I know he's eager to play again ad I'm eager to see that too!
But our team has drama and its sad that some parents feel they need to undermine , over ride or simply cause drama when the team is on the brink of great things. The Lake Elsinore Valley Wild Tigers are in the playoffs and if they can continue they great run.. They have a chance at bigger and better things. But ego's control issues and what best for the team has reared its ugly head. For me, I want the kids to play football and play hard and enjoy their youth, They don't need sour grapes or whiners to interfere in their glory in the sun. But like so many other times , in youth football , I played it , I coached it , I have see the good and bad. But right now is the most disturbing because cursing out a parent in front of other parents and kids , is never acceptable and never be tolerated. I don't like it and I ashamed such behaviour is uncalled for and unacceptable. But that's how life is we have e troubles , issues , we need to talk them out and go on. I'm hoping and praying that happens with this team. My son Marty and his team mates are enjoying a great season, and it would be horrible if it gets destroyed over parents ego's and personal agenda. Life and football are complex , and yet simple, and I'm hoping cooler and smarter heads prevail. The boys , and the parents have worked too hard to get where the team is now.. They have a shot a great chance to display their talent to more than the local areas of riverside and San Diego county.
Bottom line- Youth sports are for the youths, and they need to enjoy the fruits of labors.. Not the parents , the coaches, its the kids, They just want to play football , they don't need to deal with senseless and useless parental acts. The reason I wanted my son to join youth sports was to grow up and deal with failures, success, jubilation and heart breaks. I wanted him to build character and become a good man. But if parents fail to show or lead them to what is a good parent ,then its the parents fault for a kids failures. I never want my son to think failure , quitting or arguing is the keys to success. We all know you need collaboration, cooperation, to succeed in life, nothing comes easy if you don't work together. Success breeds success and good parents teach and preach that. My issue with youth football is today's parents and coaching are thinking way ahead in the future ,College , or NFL dreams.. For now.. The kids want to play and have fun playing the greatest game , and we parents need to realize and support them during these critical years.As much as I loved football, my parents really never supported anything sports related and I'm not angry, perhaps they knew what I could or couldn't do. But it would be nice if they showed a Little more support , because if they did, Maybe I would be more inspired to play and more dedicated to perform, during my youth, but the many no shows and negative comments , do play havoc on a young man. That's why I support my son 1,000 percent because its what I never had growing up and I want my boys to be given all the tools and opportunities that are available to them.. To me that's what a great parent does.. Encourage , motivate and stimulate the interest their kids have and go for it. Because you never know if your boy or girl could be next whatever in sports , in medicine , in politics in life to make that difference. In a world full of negativity , I'm always looking for the positives in life.. I'm a positive thinker and optimistic one because in the end.. That's all we have is hope , and dreams in life.. Without them life is depressing.. I support youth football , by supporting my son and his coaches and parents , because they times we have now , will never come again.. Enjoy the moments , because they come and go as fast as life goes.. No time for losers, everyone is a winner in life , if you do your best, lead by example and lead by principles.. Do the right thing , even if it means holding your ego in check, holding your dreams and personal desires. A true team player thinks team , regardless of personal wishes, but often times I see over bearing parents demanding things they wanted in their own life through their kids.. Its a recipe for sadness if that's how you want to live. Life is so precious and the moment I have enjoyed with my son this season is priceless and I'm humbled to share with you via face book. But I also know anything can happen to ruin things, its just a shame its the parents that are hurting the kids kids en before they play.. Because they want to fulfill their own personal wishes and desires. My take we lived and tried our best in life,. the future is the kids.. Its all their pride and glory , it their time and I want to share that with this team I love and care about so much. They have provide so much joy and pride by the way they have never given up and how hard they work in practices and on game days.. Until the next Marty Blog Take care and lead by example!

CHARGERS VS RAIDERS - THE AFTERMATH - OCT 15, 2014
What a game ? Scared alot of charger fans and players. No excuses , but the Raiders had two weeks to prepare , a new coach and new game plan the chargers had nothing to prepare for and props to Coach Sparano, he used and abused Derrick Car and company!
But at then end , at crunch time , when it mattered most m they the raiders could not finish and when they lived and died by the long pass , it finally caught u with them.. They lack of a consistent running game or protection on the line.. was evident sure No sacks but nearly 20 incomplete passes and and ill advised pass at the end of the game was because they still need a better line defense and offense and a true number one receiver.. They played Hard but another loss.
The raiders now have to decide where they want to? Stick with this coach , change the GM and changing of the roster. Too many wasted pay days on aging veterans and trading away draft picks for players that are not producing.
on the charger side, they were tricked or not ready for such a game plan.. I mean the raiders have done nothing in their previous games to make you think they could do that. But it was a nice wake up call for the chargers ..Now they know they can win a game when they played terrible. They found a way to win.. A great character win.. In the past with Nervous Norv , they would find a way to lose. Now they are winning those close games.. It takes character to fight back from adversity and win a game with a defensive stop. I know offense scores points , but a great defense can save you points and give energy to a offense. Point if your offense is comfortable you can hold a team,they are eager to score points and take advantage of scoring chances. Its a team sport every phase has to play well for a team to win.. and right now the chargers are playing well in all the phases. Its a great feeling for charger fans that the Spanos family got it right with the Tom telsco and Mike McCoy hiring we have a GM that knows what talent is needed and a Coach that knows how to use that talent and get the best out of them. Its one thing to have talent , but a true coach knows how to motivate his players and get the best out of them. I really like the chemistry and passion this team shows every week of the season. Even after a heartbreaking opening day loss onthe road, they bounced back with a decisive home opener win against the seahawks.. I know , it was a home chargersgame win, the hawks are lousy on the road. I don't buy that. seahawks are a great team struggling right now.but they gave the chargers a fight. Now the key is injuries , if theres one weakness the bolts have is those injuries have piled up.. Now they have to keep winning and when these star payers return.. Just imagine how great the chargers are.. Maybe the football Gods are smiling on the Chargers, but having the injuries now , then in the playoffs,, ?? Who knows,, But its great how the chargers have started and now the tough part of the schedule kicks in.. The Chargers have a big game next Thursday after playing another road game , this will be 3 games in a 11 day period? If anything they are making the chargers mentally tougher but having such a grinding schedule. Plus the coaches have done a great job getting the replacements playing well or even better than the starters..
Its still a Long season, but I like the way the chargers are playing and winning, the defense has stepped up during crunch time,, and the offense is making plays when they have too. Now just imagine if Mathew's, woodhead , and hardwick our stars were healthy and ready,,, This team will be dangerous..
Bottom line.. be patient with this team.. The offensive line will develop and the players will get back in the line up sooner than later and who knows?
Feb 2015.. could be a lucky month . Its four months away , but they way the chargers are playing .. the long awaited SUPER BOWL TRIP will be a happy one.

Strong offense with a MVP type performance by Philip Rivers and underrated almost neglected receiving corps of gates, Allen, royal . Floyd ..and the rookie sensation running of Branden Oliver and the surging and improved defense that can stop the run and pass and cause turnovers and score. No one wants to give credit to the SAN DIEGO CHARGERS because they have disappointed many the fan and experts when they have played great regular season football. The key is that if you want people , critics and players to give you credit , you must win the Lombardi trophy . The Chargers right here , right now are playing the best football and if they keep that up.. A championship will happen. For now , the east coast bias , and disrespect I observe on the networks,,, will change , but only if the chargers go all the way.. Its doesn't matter what we think or the experts think? Its Coach McCoy and his staff and those wonderful players believe in. !! Based on what I have seen they believe they can achieve and that's good enough for me.. Enjoy fans , because moments like this a seldom felt in San Diego.. lets enjoy the ride , because stranger things happen,. like the Giants upsetting the patriots in Superbowl's.. or teams never winning finally breaking through ..Ravens, Rams, Buccaneers, Saints.. The Chargers may join the club.. in the future. But the future may be now the way they are playing and Lets enjoy it..because moments like this are golden.. !! Have a great day and football weekend!!

No one wants to give credit to the SAN DIEGO CHARGERS because they have disappointed many the fan and experts when they have played great regular season football. The key is that if you want people , critics and players to give you credit , you must win the Lombardi trophy . The Chargers right here , right now are playing the best football and if they keep that up.. A championship will happen. For now , the east coast bias , and disrespect I observe on the networks,,, will change , but only if the chargers go all the way.. Its doesn't matter what we think or the experts think? Its Coach McCoy and his staff and those wonderful players believe in. !! Based on what I have seen they believe they can achieve and that's good enough for me.. Raiders - Have to slow the game down.. They have to keep Rivers and company on the bench. Thu use Mcfadden and JOnes drew to run , or catch short passes to keep drive alive. Its no secret derrick carr is hurt and doesn't want to stay in the pocket long to absorb hard hits. expect fast quick passes and long drawn out plays. Its their only chance.
On defense they have to take chances , letting Rivers have time , he will dissect that vulnerable defense other than Justin tuck and khalil mack, the rest of them are mixed match of rookies and old veterans getting a paycheck. Sorry woodson, you had your time and your no leader saying your team sucks. That's grand standing and look at me comments it's no wonder they don't help you in the secondary and I have see you get beat many times. Its not only those young corners , but you have been late to several pass plays..the trend continues... and will be next Sunday.
Intangibles.. The Raiders are getting ripped in the media by not only experts but past raiders , Rich Gannon comments about no leaders or not enough is so true , and it starts at the top.. Who in the right mind fires a coach in the middle of the season , and replaces them with a coach who was performing just as bad. Yes Tony Sparano was the offensive line coach. ah..let me think , he had two qbs taken out and in jeopardy in losing him for the season if they don't play better. JOnes drew and mcfadden are old and worn out because the line doesn't block or help a fellow team mate.
Example ; When Derrick Carr was hurt , not one line men assisted him o the side line and the coaches took a while to assist.That's pathetic , but that's the raider culture.The losing years 12 in counting is because , coaches , management let things go.. and because of that .You have a organization no right minded coach would want to go.. I mean one year and your gone... No job security and the players, you think they care about the coaches if they know they will be gone in flash.. So these players will do what they want to do, which is collect a pay check, don't study , don't work hard and don't win.

They need coaching , leadership and players stepping up.. But chances are after a bye week with no leadership and the same munbo jumbo from a wanna be coach , is gonna lead to a beat down.. The chargers are loaded and ready to explode , they want retribution for giving away a game early this year in Arizona and last years disaster in Oakland. Anything can happen,,? is true if your team is playing well.For the raiders they have the leagues worst run defense and not much better on pass defense. Teams choose to run because they have built a lead and want to control the game.But I don't see any issue passing or running against the raiders , and the chargers defense is the best scoring defense in the league and holding teams to under 21 pts a game.. The chargers have the best point differential in the league with 70pts , no other team is close ,, Its just a different charger team this year they are focused on being a great team , playing high performance football every week. The Raiders , are committed to playing bad football and getting a pay check. Next Sunday you will see the difference between a solid contending team , to a team just pretending to be one.
My final thoughts, Chargers win easily with power running and passing and a great defensive effort and better coaching, The raiders will be overwhelmed by talent, skill, and desire and great coaching , something the raiders haven't had since they fired their greatest coach Jon Gruden.. Karma is a karma and because of that , all those firings and disrespect to so many people have led them to reveal all the secrets the raiders had. Think about it ?, you fire a coach over the phone , without getting the play book first , count all those coaches they fired and humiliated , don't you think they released all the info about the raiders..?? just a bad thought for the raiders.. Another staggering thought the raiders have the oldest roster on league.. in a young mans league , its no wonder they have lost all their games and in true jeopardy in going 0-16!!! Unless they play the jags or jets another bad team , oh wait they did play the jets and lost.. It looks bad for the once proud raiders and come Sunday,, they will have to bury another football , after a beat down by the leagues best team.. Just my thoughts.. Its anew year and new era for both the chargers and raiders football .. and two teams going in opposite directions.. Sunday will be a statement game for both teams..

COLTS AT TEXANS-Andrew Luck is a MVP candidate , he has the Colts playing the best offensive football in the league , next to the San Diego Chargers and both teams have pretty good defenses. The Texans are hurting after tough loss to Cowboys, they will play well but too many weapons to cover for the Texans..
SUNDAY '
JAGUARS AT TITANS- The Titans lost a heart breaker to the Browns and now have another home game against the jags, I see a low scoring game with the Titans pulling out a tough hard earned win.
RAVENS AT BUCCANEERS- The Bucs are playing better football and Vincent Jackson had a minster game last week, they will need another one if they wish to upset the Ravens. The ravens are just better and should pull out a tough game on the road. Look for raven defense to create a turnover late to secure a win.
BRONCOS AT JETS- The Jets were horrible last week, and now they face the Manning show, heaven help you, I see Jets playing better , but not enough to take care of the mighty Broncos.. Manning will throw multiple tds and continue on winning and looking good. The show down with the Chargers is looking more exciting as both teams win..
LIONS AT VIKINGS- No mega tron and the loss of Reggie bush will hurt the Lions, and the vikings are playing better , and I expect them to win because of of a resurgent running game and underrated defense, the issue may be Christian Ponder if he starts , The Vikes need Bridgewater to win this game and have a good season.. Lions struggle on the road and I see the same in this game..Matt Stafford is gun slinger and doesnt manage games well. The Vikes are better balanced and playing better then the inconsistent lions..
PATRIOTS AT BILLS- Tom Brady and the bunch looked awesome last week against the Bengals.. it was the case old vs new studs.. The elder won, but the Pats still have issues on the line and still need a running game and consistent passing attack. This will be a tough win for the Patriots.The bills will play hard and challenge the Pats , but lose because the Pats still have Tom brady ..
PANTHERS AT BENGALS - Another tough game for both teams.. The Bengals were ambushed and dismantled last week. They will bounce back and hand the Panthers a humbling loss.Cam Newton is still hurting and his play dictates that. The Bengals will get back to hard nose running and timed passing plays to get a home win.
STEELERS AT BROWNS'- Hoyer was awesome in the Browns historic come back win and because of that , they will carry that mindset and momentum in a convincing win against the steelers, the steelers have a running game , but their passing game is still a work in progress. The Browns have young talent and after that dramatic win last week. They will play inspired and consistent good football. The Browns has one of the best secondaries in the league Joe Haden is gamer and keeps them in games. He is a play breaker in every since of the word!
PACKERS AT DOLPHINS- Rodgers is having another great year, their defense is not , but they have enough to go on the road to beat the very good dolphins , Tannehill is a good QB and wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a shoot out,, and or if that happens I like Rodgers winning such a game!
CHARGERS AT RAIDERS- True trap to me, the Chargers are ranked number one , the talk about the Broncos show down and the emergence of the new BO . BRANDEN OLIVER.. but the raider changing coaches and the lack of leadership from top to bottom is what is killed the raiders progress. too many veterans with set mind sets and rookies that are misguided will destroy any chance of the raiders winning this or any other game this year. Carr is good , but that offensive line is horrible, they have managed to get 2 qbs hurt so early in the season and then they promote the coach of that line as head coach. Sorry raiders,, you promote a guy that hasn't done anything to prove otherwise.. Bury the football ploy.. C'mon man.. Chargers in a blow out win!!
BEARS AT FALCONS- The Cutler effect, if he plays well so do the bears, I like Jefferey's he is playing better than marshall, maybe too much network tv, when he should be studying and preparing for football games.. The falcons can score at home and because of that I like them to score early and often and that's when bad cutler shows himself..
COWBOYS AT SEAHAWKS-The hawks look as dangerous as last year, especially on offense, at home they are unbeatable..The boys if ut I see bad romo coming out especially if they get behind, so the key is more murray and less romo and play sound defense.. Its too much to ask for. It will be a close game but I like Russel Wilson and company being a bit more tougher and will pull out a tough and hard hitting win at home!!
REDSKINS AT CARDINALS -The cardinals got a little bit exposed against the Broncos , but who doesn't? The skins have a good running game and passing attack, but on the road against a contending team might be a little too much. I see this being a close game , cardinals will confuse cousins into making mistakes and giving the cardinals easy score chances.

GIANTS AT EAGLES-NFC EAST battle.. The eagles have struggled offensively ,but the other teams have stepped up , a true sign of a winning team. Find ways to win.. McCoy and Sproles will have big games..Eli is playing better and so is the defense , it will be a tough game , but the Eagles are the class of division.

49ERS AT RAMS - The might be yawner, boring , blow out game. The Rams have nobody at qb or anywhere else. This is a game the niners fix up the running and passing attack. The defense wil play their game and don't be surprised if we see another shut out game .. Niners are too strong and good to lose and the rams are hurting in every facet of the game. Jim harbaugh and Co want to make a statement and what a way to do it ...than on national TV.. They will come out swinging!!
These are my picks. I'm back on my winning ways, but I still get surpised on alot of games, its truly a NFL = no figure league, on any given Sunday teams can rise up.. Then again we have the teams that are consistent ,, that is bad... The Jaguars , Raiders , rams.. I see them all losing and all getting blown out..

JETS VS CHARGERS - THE AFTERMATH .OCT 7 , 2014..
The Chargers blew out the lowly Jets 31-0 , whats was impressive was that the Jets only crossed the 50 yard line once and that was on a bogus pass interference call. The changing of quarterbacks didnt change anything. The Bolts dominated the run and passing attack. The Offense was on point with great td catches by Brandon Oliver and Antonio Gates.. and finding out BO is a stud runner. I know one game doesnt make a career , but having no running game for the past few weeks , his breakout was needed.. I know I hear the critics he's too small, he's not strong enough , but remember Barry sanders was the same height and look at what he did, and they are have been others with a lack of height issues.. Walter payton, emmit smith and LT were 5'10 and below ,,, But they became monster running backs.. You can measure height and weight , but you cant measure heart and desire,and thats what these great players had. I see the same thing in Branden Oliver , great heart and desire and he wants to show his stuff. He may not have the muscles or height of a Mathew's, but has tremendous heart and desire and football sense which I would take over brute strength and careless desire. You have to know when to run hard m and when to take what the defense gives you and also be smart with handling the ball.
Well now back to the game lessons. The chargers are winning despite major injuries to key players.. why? Simple great coaching and player depth,. kudos to Tom Telesco finding the depth and players to step up , great move by the Spanos Family with the hiring of Telesco and McCoy , they are working wonders with this group of players.They have players that are buying in to what they want to do and the chemistry is amazing. I see and feel the teamwork and love they all have for each other, no matter what they are trying their best to be the best. You can tell the veterans like Flowers, weddle , rivers and gates are working wonders with the rest of the team mates. The result is simple. a very Strong 4-1 record and a strong feeling they will continue playing well and being competitive. The San Diego Chargers are no longer hoping and wishing to win , but they are expecting to win games and this could very well be e year the finally come through. I just feel different about this team , like the 2006 team,,, I feel this team defensively is better and offensively is just as good if not more balanced. Rivers is better , Gates is smarter and the Coaching is better. Sorry Marty , this staff is better prepared and has a winners mind set. I know its still early in the season, but it what I feel. when you win easily on the road and at home , it makes you feel that way. The big win against sea hawks was impressive and going on the road and handling the bills on the road was encouraging because the bolts usually struggle on the road.. Not this year , I sense a well coached team with a vision and desire to win.. I like how they approach games and Love how Rivers has changed. No more whining or arguing with the head coach.. Why? Because he totally buys in in what they are teaching him.. or showing him. I know when you believe in the coach, you play harder and smarter.its a new year , new season and new era in San Diego charger football. I know the haters Will say , yea but you have no rings , or the chargers choked so many times.. Well every team has choked or messed up some have gone onto Superbowl wins,, and others are still searching for that moment.
I liked what I saw from last Sundays games.. I saw teamwork, I saw chemistry and I saw a winning mindset from the team. This year is our year and they the players believe they expect to win every game and making the efforts to do that. Not missing team meetings or arguing with one another. This is a true team effort.. TEAM = TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE!! Its so great to feel good about this team.. The nervous norv years destroyed our passion for the team. Now that we have a quality GM and head coach. I see years of winning and a great chance to win the SUPERBOWL.. and who knows,, This could be the year.. With the NFL rule changes on offense.I like the high flying aerial weapons of gates, royal , Allen and Floyd.. along with tutu and Inman and green .. I see a great chance to make this the year.. Why not us?? They are ranked number one and Rivers is playing like a MVP.. It takes great work and a Little luck to make it to the SUPERBOWL... Right now the chargers are winning without some of their key players and the defense is playing championship football. A shut out is a shut out especially in these days of rules against defenses.. I applaud the chargers and I see this team making a great run and because of the great play , they have shown.. This team has a great chance to make a serious threat .. For charger fans. Believe in this team.. Its gonna be a fun year to watch!

Walter payton, emmit smith and LT were 5'10 and below ,,, But they became monster running backs.. You can measure height and weight , but you cant measure heart and desire,and thats what these great players had. I see the same thing in Branden Oliver , great heart and desire and he wants to show his stuff. He may not have the muscles or height of a Mathew's, but has tremendous heart and desire and football sense which I would take over brute strength and careless desire. You have to know when to run hard m and when to take what the defense gives you and also be smart with handling the ball.
Well now back to the game lessons. The chargers are winning despite major injuries to key players.. why? Simple great coaching and player depth,. kudos to Tom Telesco finding the depth and players to step up , great move by the Spanos Family with the hiring of Telesco and McCoy , they are working wonders with this group of players.They have players that are buying in to what they want to do and the chemistry is amazing. I see and feel the teamwork and love they all have for each other, no matter what they are trying their best to be the best. You can tell the veterans like Flowers, weddle , rivers and gates are working wonders with the rest of the team mates. The result is simple. a very Strong 4-1 record and a strong feeling they will continue playing well and being competitive. The San Diego Chargers are no longer hoping and wishing to win , but they are expecting to win games and this could very well be e year the finally come through. I just feel different about this team , like the 2006 team,,, I feel this team defensively is better and offensively is just as good if not more balanced. Rivers is better , Gates is smarter and the Coaching is better. Sorry Marty , this staff is better prepared and has a winners mind set. I know its still early in the season, but it what I feel. when you win easily on the road and at home , it makes you feel that way. The big win against sea hawks was impressive and going on the road and handling the bills on the road was encouraging because the bolts usually struggle on the road.. Not this year , I sense a well coached team with a vision and desire to win.. I like how they approach games and Love how Rivers has changed. No more whining or arguing with the head coach.. Why? Because he totally buys in in what they are teaching him.. or showing him. I know when you believe in the coach, you play harder and smarter.its a new year , new season and new era in San Diego charger football. I know the haters Will say , yea but you have no rings , or the chargers choked so many times.. Well every team has choked or messed up some have gone onto Superbowl wins,, and others are still searching for that moment.
I liked what I saw from last Sundays games.. I saw teamwork, I saw chemistry and I saw a winning mindset from the team. This year is our year and they the players believe they expect to win every game and making the efforts to do that. Not missing team meetings or arguing with one another. This is a true team effort.. TEAM = TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE!! Its so great to feel good about this team.. The nervous norv years destroyed our passion for the team. Now that we have a quality GM and head coach. I see years of winning and a great chance to win the SUPERBOWL.. and who knows,, This could be the year.. With the NFL rule changes on offense.I like the high flying aerial weapons of gates, royal , Allen and Floyd.. along with tutu and Inman and green .. I see a great chance to make this the year.. Why not us?? They are ranked number one and Rivers is playing like a MVP.. It takes great work and a Little luck to make it to the SUPERBOWL... Right now the chargers are winning without some of their key players and the defense is playing championship football. A shut out is a shut out especially in these days of rules against defenses.. I applaud the chargers and I see this team making a great run and because of the great play , they have shown.. This team has a great chance to make a serious threat .. For charger fans. Believe in this team.. Its gonna be a fun year to watch!

RAMS AT EAGLES- JUST WHAT the eagle needed, a poor run defense at home.. The Rams are playing inspired but losing football. Mcoy and Sproles will have fun and Foles will get back n track. A blow out win for the eagles..
FALCONS AT GIANTS - The Falcons are hard to figure? Matt Ryan is a elite qb , but on the road with the surging giants is a recipe for another tough loss for the falcons. The Giants are beginning to look like contenders again. Eli is making strides with this new explosive offense.
BUCCANEERS AT SAINTS - The surprise teams of the year. both were expected to do better. The saints are struggling because of their poor defense. whats surprising the offense is not as good as past years. The Bucs are young and hungry , but Drew Brees is too good to lose at home.. The saints get back on track with decisive win!!
TEXANS AT COWBOYS- The Cowboys are the winner because they have used the new formula for success , less romo , more murray. If they stay true to that I see a decisive win , and the boys are finally playing good football.
BILLS AT LIONS- the Bills are qb issues and have changed their qb and Matthew Stafford with Megatron will light up the bills defense.. easy win at home for the Lions!!
RAVENS AT COLTS - The Colts are playing well and the ravens too. But at home and Andrew Luck is playing great football. It will be a tough low scoring game, but Luck does enough and the colts defense will do their share in a tough hard earned win at home.
STEELERS AT JAGUARS-The stem on steelers are so unpredictable and its hard to pick them on the road. Yes I know jaguars have a Big Ben clone at qb abd the Jags are eager to win this game at home. The Steeler defense is old and slow and will have issues with the youngsters from Jacksonville. My upset special of the week!
CARDINALS AT BRONCOS'- The possible game of the week. But Broncos simply don't lose at home. The cardinals are playing great balanced football , but I see Manning doing enough at home get them back on top the AFC WEST ALONG WITH THE CHARGERS!!
CHIEFS AT 49ERS- The Chiefs and jamaal charles looked unbeatable.. What a difference a week makes. They play a tough minded defense and the Niners look like the contenders they are. The Chiefs will be challenged and will struggle a times. This could be a close nail biter , but The Niners defense will control the tempo of this game..
JETS AT CHARGERS- THE JETS are angry and could be ready for a upset. The Chargers are wounded and hurting on the offensive line. Rivers will have to play mistake free football. The Jets can run and I expect them to ground and pound and steal the time of possession formula the chargers like to use. It wont be high scoring and The Bolts will have to pick and choose their big play moments . but I see them making enough to pull out a late td to control the game..It will be more of a defensive fight and a much needed close tight game to keep the chargers humbled and realistic about the tough schedule in the coming weeks..
SUNDAY NIGHT
BENGALS AT PATRIOTS- The pats are struggling and against a elite defense , the problems or issues continue. The Bengals are playing Number 1 rated football and they wont disappoint , Great riunning and passing game and a very physical defense will play havoc on the unsteady patriots offensive line.
MONDAY NIGHT
SEAHAWKS AT REDSKINS- The hawks are playing well and will handle the redskins easily. Russell Wilson has the weapons . Lynch and harvin are two of the best for each position and they will play havoc on the redskin defense. The legion of doom is looking and playing better and will help create turnovers and earn a win on the road!!

Marty blog 4- The Football practices- Oct 3,2014..
My son Marty is a beast in practise and Game days, but I realize this game we all love and played is a collision sports.. I take a big deep breath whenever I see boys take awhile to get up. I understand the dangers and maybe why I didn't play as much football when I was younger. But that's the excitement of the sport. When I see my son take off running and eluding tacklers with ease , just brings a smile to my face. He works hard at school and on the field. I respect his work ethic. I realize that I didn't have the same ethic when I was younger I enjoyed partying , girls , and cars... Nothing wrong with that ..but My son has a vision and goal and I admire him for that. When I say he's my favorite player, I really mean that , because his heart and desire is second to none and the joy he brings to me and others is contagious. But I must admit , I get nervous when he takes a hard hit and when he maybe makes too many moves and is dragged down awkwardly. But he's a gamer and exciting one. Play safe... Hah.. How can you do that in collision sport. You have to be competitive and tough to play this game and he has that and its fun to watch. Its hard to explain the excitement I have when I watch him play, my wife and I are never tired watching his highlight reel which is a weekly event!! I pray every day and night he stays healthy and suffers no serious injury. He has his minor bruises and is scrapes and sprains, but he's a tough minded warrior and i really Love him for that. I'm not afraid to say he's a better athlete than I was when I was younger. I hated practices and I hated workouts where you threw up and got nauseated .. But not my son, he wants to get better every practise and push his mental and physical potentials. I love that about my son. I'm not really sure how long he wants to play football high school , college , Pro's the ultimate dream. But I just want him to be happy , if he wants to keep going I'm going to support him and give him the advice and wisdom I have and what others give me. Life is wonderful thing and I just want him to be happy at whatever he wants to do in his life. For now ,, he wants to apart of something special , a record setting season with the Elsinore Valley Wild Tigers , where he has been spectacular. For those who have kids in sports, guide them and support them because the moment's of joy they provide is a truly a blessing. I just want to express my special gratitude to my wife and her sister Gladys who has attended Marty's games and supports all of my kids efforts. She is a great sister in law and friend and I know she loves our family. For now.. I watch the hard hitting practices and get ready for another Saturday game.. This time in Lake Elsinore - Elsinore High School at 1pm against the Scripps Ranch falcons and get set for a hot and exciting game .. I want to wish all the boys great health and safety and no injuries.. I want the boys to enjoy their moments of glory in front of proud and loud parents.. Marty is a warrior and gamer and his team mates are the same. Its not a easy game to play and I admire everyone of them to have the heart and desire to play.
