SAN DIEGANS- GO AZTECS - SWEET 16 !

SAN DIEGANS - GO AZTECS - SWEET 16!
Ok, fellow Socal - Sun Diegans.. We have been waiting for a championship team like forever. I mean the Padres have gone to the Word Series, and the beloved Chargers only once back in the day with Stan Diego Humphries and Natrone Means and of course Jr. Seau.. We had the Rockets , went to Houston and got their championships, we had the Clippers ,, well they still suck in LA. Well we did have the World Champion indoor soccer champions The San Diego Sockers.. remember them,. does that really count ? Or better yet the Little League World Champions Chula Vista.. Now does that really count ? ok.. back to my praise , The SDSU - AZTECS. are fun to watch, they play great defense and everyone has the ability to bring the ball down the court, we have some good shooters and a great coach in Steve Fisher, could this be the year? I mean the Aztec's have never won a game in the NCAA tournament and here we are winning two , especially the last one in double overtime.. March madness in deed, The Mighty Aztecs play this Thursday in the Sweet 16 count down,, Can we say Final Four.. ? Wow ,what a year if this happens and what a year if they can win it all, and from what I see , they have a chance , Wow , I always thought the Chargers or even the Padres would bring home a championship.. But the college SAN DIEGO STATE is on the verge and I'm rooting for them. For those of all us who have grown up in San Dogg, we have been denied, broken hearted and teased for too long. Its time the city have something to brag about instead of the weather and great scenery around the city. This could be the year San Diego sports teams have a great year , The Chargers are reloading and the Pads look like they are ready to make a another run , and who knows what the San Diego State football and basket ball team does this year. I mean SDSU football went to the Poinsettia bowl and beat Navy,, so I see a  great year in the making. Who knows all this championship feelings could finally get the fans and the city council , on track to build to build a new Sports Staduim for all of San Diego sport teams, like the Chargers , Aztecs, high school championship's , concerts , MMA events , Boxing , etc.. We have to think big , if San Diego is gonna get any respect from the rest of the country.. Well , Aztecs,,. make the move an win that championship and set the tone for the rest of the year. The Pads are next , then after all the lock out and CBA bickering between players and owners in the NFL.. we will get our football , but for the time being .. All local San Diegans . Stand up and cheer for our city and my former school The San Diego State University Aztecs.. Its time to shine !! THE SOURCE PRODUCTIONS @ 2011..

NFL'S LOCK OUT CBA DEAL.. the bottom line..

THE NFL - which stand for NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE , but I also term it as THE NOT FOR LONG LEAGUE, that includes coaching changes , team changes and of course player changes. But I also say Fans in general are turned off by all this lock out , short season, etc.. I mean I love watching this league , the drama , the comedy , the characters are unsurpassed compared to any sporting event. But guess what " greed " is killing the game.. I mean as fans , we see or hear about multi-million dollar contracts and owners making billions of dollars and the poor old true fans cant even afford to attend one game.. At San Diego the cheapest seat is $54.OO DOLLARS a ticket and that's in the family section nose bleed section, where the view is obstructed once a team gets close to the end zone closet to them.. Well it is or was a multi-purpose stadium built for Baseball , football and other special events like Motor cross or monster truck shows. But enough of that..
The bottom line to all this CBA talk = Collective bargaining agreement which is a set of rules and guideline both he owners and players abide by concerning , free agency , pensions. health care , rookie salaries , roster sizes, safety concerns etc.. The talk is about the proposed 18 game schedule, games outside the US, the setting of a salary pay scale for rookies and veteran alike.. But the most deciding factor is the sharing of revenue for the owners and players.. The players want more share of it and the owners don't want that. In other words they want to keep more money in their pockets.. You blame them. If I was a owner I want to make money.. Sure it would be nice to win a championship , but as long the fans keep coming " San Diego..
" Keep doing the same thing!" But the bottom lime issue is the Employer ( The owners are asking for a pay raise from the employee ( the players) They basically are asking the players to take a pay cut , even though the owners are the ones that contributed to the high and outrageous pay salaries. Now ask your self,, if the owner or the boss of your company , came up to you and said," Would please take a pay cut , I mismanaged the pay scale for the company , and I need to make cuts,, would you do it for the sake of the company.. I know you have been loyal and done everything I asked you to do , but I cant sustain such salaries.. Now , as a employee , most of you including myself , would say " fuck No!" I mean in this day in the age , you cant possibly ask anyone to take a pay cut , its tough enough already especially the rising cost of gas and all.
I believe the owners are not being totally truthful , in regards to their revenue or profits and the players are being too critical and demanding in regards to revenue sharing or players salaries.. They both understand they are taking chances at turning off many fans , including myself, I went through two strike filled replacement player seasons , and even made me rethink my love for the game. But now the game is at its highest popularity and now the players and owners are threatening law suits , lock outs , etc,. I see this being the longest and most emotional filled CBA in years. The players and owners have prepared for this show down,, The players and owners are going to have to feel the heat of not having money coming in and bills to play.. and possible fans canceling season tickets and possible legal actions from every where . I still believe NFL is King , but they have held the fans hostage for years with " Black outs, high prices for tickets and parking!" The fans seem to be the ones the get hurt by all of this. I mean , I will watch other things like Boxing and MMA , and I kind of like THE ARENA LEAGUE and Rugby ,, and College.. football . I can be a fan of those sports if the NFL punishes us with trial and law suits. If anything we are going to see how greedy both sides are and how they really could care less about you the fans.. Who by chance spend the money on games and Jerseys caps and other NFL labeled gear. I know emotions are controlling my thinking right now,, but as this drags on , I'm sure the rest of the fans are going to lose interest and faith in the league and at first, may boycott and decide to not get emotionally invested into players that demand too much money and attention and owners that threaten fans with Black outs , and hold outs , suspensions and heavy fines on silly penalties ,, by the way " where does all the money go to ? Pension funds ? really ? health care , medical plans ? really? Lets face it , both sides know America and the world is addicted to THE NFL.. but like everything else,.. you deprive your customers for too long , they will find alternative forms for their entertainment dollar. The times are changing and fans and future fans , may change their loyalties and viewing habits if the powers to be don't wise up.. But we all know we have two monsters with big egos and pride and large expenses to fill , so they will draw this out trying to out do the other , which is a locked out season, damaged feelings that linger for years and a fan base that is disgusted with their greedy players and owners that have forgotten , that the fans are who made them rich , and the fans will also make them fall. Once upon a time baseball was King , Boxing , even Basketball , but all those sports suffered because of greedy players and owners that have tricked , lied and held their fans hostage over the same issues that NFL is now going through. It's a shame THE NFL hasn't learned form those sports and is doomed to suffer their fates , regarding fan loyalty , fan appreciation and lastly fan dedication. There's too many other avenues of entertainment that fans can turn to and the NFL , is so arrogant thinking all this fame and fortune will continue under these issues looming.
Bottom line , both the players and owners are fighting over money , and the fans should wake and realize , they don't care about you , and the fact you work hard and even sacrifice things just to attend games. After this Locked out season , I believe many fans and players and owners will have a different perspective on life and THE NFL. In other words the Aura and prestige of the league will suffer and many fans , players and owners will realize that you can only hurt a fan or product so much before it loses its luster. Today's youth are more interested in music and movies and the sports idol is becoming less appealing. To be honest I don't blame them.. Why invest your time and money into something that threatens you , increases the cost of event and limits your access. Today's youth has other avenues of entertainment like Internet , Ipods , DVDS, Computers and games to occupy their times. Its a damn shame , THE NFL lacks the wisdom or the vision that by alienating and depriving the younger generation access to their product , the New generation will not tune in, or care to invest or develop a interest.
THE NFL may find out the hard way that my " Term " NOT FOR LONG !" may be the true meaning to the demise of the once great sport.. Until my next perspective .. Take Care.. THE SOURCE PRODUCTIONS @ 2011..

Chang's Rice Bowl- My first job..

Once upon a time , when I was 15 years old.. I got a job at Chang's Rice Bowl.. on Broadway in Chula Vista, Ca.. You guys recall Mr, Chang,, the Math guru of Montgomery,, kind of looked liked the Chinese version of Clark Kent,, I recall making tons of jokes about how he was a superman , under the dorky look.. Sorry Mr. Chang , but you gave Nerd the definition.. The pens.. the thick rimmed glasses, the goofy hair style.. the clothes.. But you were one of the toughest and smartest math teachers ever,, Including my college professors at SDSU OR University of Maryland.
Well , the reason I had this job was because my best friend hooked me up,..and I needed to save money for my first car,, Papa , told me save enough and you can buy your car when your turn 16.. Now.. think about it ,. Im 15 years old.. How the heck am I going to get any kind of real money to buy a car.. Newspaper deliveries, Swap meets. etc.. No way,, and He knew that too. But the break came. by becoming a dishwasher at a Chinese restaurant kind of like my idol at the time,. Bruce Lee , he did the same type of job.. Check out Dragon Story " Bruce Lee Story,.. " ok.it was a dirty hard job. they worked me like a dog. I was always tired and sweaty and stinky every night I worked,.. But it gave me the money i needed top buy my first car..
But here's one incident that will always make me smile.. well one of the workers , had a big crush on a beautiful tall white girl that owned a hot looking corvette,.,.But it was so funny seeing him try so hard , while she hugged me and flirted with me , than this dude. But it was just so funny how he acted and how he tried so hard , he looked so desperate.. I mean,. I had jokes and really enjoyed when we got off work and i would see him trying to ask her out. and she would wink and smile at me at I went home with my friend..
But the biggest memory or incident i had to deal with when the owner , an old Chinese Lady,, I called her Mama.. She told me to take my friends final check and tell him he's fired.. I said, " I cant do that to my friend.. " She said, " Then your fired too!" I said.. What? Ok.. I;ll do it,, I mean I needed this job.. So of I went to my friends house and I said here bro,, and he said, thanks.. Yeah.. I also have a message from the boss lady.. " Your fired !" At first , he laughed , then said,.,.really.. I help you get this job , and now your the one who  fires me.. ! I said, I had too, if i didn't agree to it. I would be fired,.,My friend said " It's cool,. it just how weird everything turned out,.,. I mean you got cookies and cakes from her and always made her smile , and I got more work , and less money.. I saw the your checks dude,, You such a kiss ass.. !! I said, Bro,, its me. I;m a charmer.. My Friend said,, " yea whatever.. ! Well needless to say, he was mad , and I guess our friendship suffered a bit , but I needed that job.. what a friend huh? oh hell.. who said life is fair ,, am I right ? Until the next story from the past.. Take care.. THE SOURCE PRODUCTIONS @ 2011

MONTGOMERY'S FAVORITE TEACHERS..inspired story from someone I once knew..

Back in the day , I really enjoyed certain classes and of course certain teachers. Well of course I enjoyed the pretty girls in class.. name them.. Joyce, Jojo , Grace , Eileen, Patty , Sherry, Elizabeth, Darlene, Rose, ok enough , anyone I missed sorry I have a story to tell.
Of course I loved my PE teachers and my coaches for football and Wrestling.. But my favorites were English teachers,, What? How can you like classes where the made you learn about subjects, and verbs, and predicates and poems.. etc.. Well , I get I was a closet intellectual and I enjoyed thinking about things , and there was no other class that enabled me to do that than creative writing , or analytical writing , in other words English classes.. I enjoyed the Mr. Bill Xander and he's creative and spiritual look at life. I mean when I first met him.. I said , what a cool cat.. I mean it was like someone locked in a time capsule and we had this 60's style guy ,, living with us in the late 70's or 80's.. I'm dating myself but that's ok.. Those were the days.. We didn't have the gadgets that we have today,, so we had to find other ways to entertain us.. For me.. I used to write . . and write and read and write.. and live life.. Every event was a story. I used to journalize everything.. Maybe to a point , that alot of friends were afraid to party with me or do anything , because I would write down and document everything. But those teachers that challenged my mind and made me think about issues and life were the teachers I loved.. Ms. Benter and Ms. Duran, helped me so much to grow and mature during a time when as a wild teenager , had many issues of controlling my anger and sometimes being too moody and hateful. I had a aggressive rage inside that like to make fun of things , even things that are sacred like death , religion or personal philosophies. Was I a big mouth with outrageous views , yes, But I also was a very thoughtful student who looked out for people that got bullied by bullies or reached out to those ESL students = ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE.,. I was  champion of the outcast , the nerds , the misfits , OR simply the misunderstood folks of school. Sure < I could hang out with the cool kids . The ASB CROWD, THE JOCKS.. WHATEVER.. but I also found solace in those folks that were left out during our school years. Back in the day I would write about my adventures with them.. Whether it was school lunches , the food fights ,, I didn't start them or simply entertaining them with my jokes and impressions of all accents, Filipino's , Mexican's " cholo's .. But I also stopped school with my pop locking moves during the breaks,, I know the teachers and administrators hated me for disrupting class , as they called it.. But I was a hyper kid with dreams of being a performer.. My auditions stories coming soon.. But I like to lead people , whether it was protesting the schools stand on teachers pay and duties , to the restrictions of a close campus, I was always the " SOURCE" the voice of the peeps.. I know I was like a ghost at school , what I mean I could blend into any crowd I wanted too.. To the Surfers at IB , to the Rockers of the south side or the Mustang crew,.Marco and guy and others,, to the Hip hop crew.. Alex , Eric . Alvin.. to the intellectuals like Alex, Grace , Roger , THE BARKADA'S -Ben Vince , Jay , John, Robert, I was the glue that kept our school together, and now after all these years. I'm finally bringing all the views and ideas and events together with my Blog.. I want to thank those that have given me tremendous support and ideas, Annette, Rose , Darlene.. Joe.. Alvin,,.the list could go on and on. But believe me. I enjoy reliving those days with you and I hope The memories are touching and true to life. Like the teachers I had so much respect for . I want to salute you and thank you with all my heart.. I have learned so much about life and most of all , Myself.. Mr. Bill Xander , Ms. Shelia Benter and Ms. Linda Duran.. I had the best days and moments when I was sitting and asking questions and at times, disrupting class with my outrageous comments or impressions. I supported all of you when you guys conducted a strike back in the day and I organized a protest on the school lawn,, by having a sit out,, until they chased us off the school grounds.. I was the leader , but i was also a young kid that didn't know enough to call their bluff. But I miss those days discussing and writing about subjects that have shaped my philosophy and ideas. In other words I'm giving a shout out TO 3 of my favorite teachers I had the pleasure to spend my high school years.. I wish you all well and I'm sure most of my classmates , enjoyed and cherished those wonderful times , well maybe not as much as I did , But the thought provoking subjects and ideas that you challenged our young minds will always be a part of our lives and we appreciate your efforts ,even though alot of the times we were a difficult generation to deal with.. Until the next story.. Take Care .. THE SOURCE PRODUCTIONS@ 2011..

DANCING ON SUNSET STRIP HOLLYWOOD.. inspired story from Joe..

My friend is a trip.. I mean once upon a time he wanted to be a actor,, martial Arts star,, performer.. He always wanted the spot light . the attention .. He was a grand stander , even before deion Sanders or Terrel Owens , or anyone else.. I mean I have been his friend.. Best friend .. ? for a very long time.. To be honest nothing he did or does now will ever surprise or shock me.. He is and always be the the star of the story , the real life drama boy , the show ready to make a scene..
Ok.. this is back in the day,, and we sneaked off on a Hollywood trip with his " Dragons Wagon !" A supped up orange Pinto.. with white racing stripes and spoiler , and body kit,, it also had a pretty awesome stereo system and tinted windows.. ok enough of that.
Well , we lie to our parents, that we are going to a martial arts tournament which will take the whole day.. Instead ,.we drive to Hollywood , and check out the scene.. First off we go to where the studios are.. and they are billboards ,, giant ones all over the strip.. Of course my buddy says, hey take photos of me.. posing by these billboards,,. well not only does my buddy have the guts or the insanity to pose , with many cars and onlookers watching,.. He proceeds to do weird poses , and dances in front of many of them. He causes many honks and some girls screaming at him.. I mean back in the day my friend was a pretty good looking guy.. slim.. long hair.. and well a charismatic guy,, I mean he did school plays and always like to dress well. So , after this entertaining display of posing and dancing on Sunset Strip.. we decide to chill at a park in Hollywood.. low and behold we see these midgets. and they are scary , because they are grown,.women and they are arguing and being loud.. My buddy is tripping , but I'm scared , because my friend is laughing at them,, not with them.. But you think my friend cares.. He's is aloud mouth , show off guy , who just got done.. dancing on Sunset strip.. But ,, that episode ends.. and he journey to the Bruce Lee museum,.,in LA,.. and we are disappointed ,, Because My friend has the same books and posters as the museum..  well maybe a few more things , but not enough to lie to our parents and make the drive to LA,, to see a low life presentation of Bruce Lee.  Well , of course my friend is a asshole and makes asinine comments to the founders of the museum.. But , hey,. I  guess that's why I like my buddy,, He has the guts or the non sense to say crazy ass things to strangers.. I mean my friend has provided many laughs and moments and are too unreal to tell , but I will in do time.. He made our trip during one summer , back in the day a fun and memorable trip that made my child hood teenage days fun to recall.  We never did make another trip to Hollywood, but I know my friend did and I'm sure he has many more stories to tell , but for this one summer day ,, It was the craziest and most fun I ever had .. Maybe because we lied to our parents and saw and did things other kids didn't have the guts or desire to do.. Until the next story I may tell about my friend.. Take Care.. FORCED TO FIGHT! inspired story from David..

FORCED TO FIGHT .. inspired story from David..
Back in the day.. way back,,,My older bro,, a Marine at the time.. was so motivated , aggravated ,, irritated that he made me and my baby bro box the neighborhood kids. The thing was that we were so good we used to beat the hell of everyone, it didn't matter the weight or age or height, we were unbeatable.. Well first off we had our had wrapped in extra wraps.. ala Margarito.. haha. while the unknowing kids would just have the gloves laced up with just bare knuckles.. Special shout out to David.. he was a bad ass fighter back in the day,. A true Pride and JOy of Montgomery and South San Diego.. I know he probaly doesn't want such attention from something many years ago,, But I admired him from afar,., I had too much of an ego and pride to really get close to him and be a true friend , But I thought he was a cool dude back then.. and even now.. ok.. enough huh?
Well ,, as the story goes.. we would beta the hell out of our neighbors.. Did the Parents of these kids complain,. Hell yeah. I still recall parents stopping in front of our house , screaming curse words , ethnic slurs.. etc.. I mean.. this was back in the day.. when people would say those things.. I mean.. It finally slowed down,. because My bro went over seas.. but I still recall people remembering us and maybe that's why we still had fist fights in school or the play yard. My baby brother had more streets fights , while I turned to Martial Arts and organized boxing to get my fill or adrenaline rush.. but You know looking back,.,. I was a bully , I mean I knew alot of the kids that laced up their gloves to go against me didn't stand a chance , kind of like Manny Pacquiao ,, Small but terrible.. But as I grew older and wiser , I found other pursuits like education, girls, drinking going to Tillys in TJ ,, those were some of the fondest times of my life.. But those days , lacing up the gloves and bearing up the kids on my block will always bring smiles to my face , because the feel of beating someone up is strong and powerful. I mean too see someone fall or get dizzy ,, was a amazing feeling. Well at the time I thought it was, and I know my eldest bro loved it.. Could that happen in today's world.. No way kids today are wimps.. too caught up with their video games and movies.. and gadgets... But that's ok.. I mean ,, as I look back,, That wasn't very nice.. but then again life is not very nice at times.. Its strange I loved to fight and still do , but watching friends or family fight tears me up.. I mean I get so nervous and afraid for them.. But if its me.. I feel so comfortable.. I mean I feel calm and serene when I train in Martial Arts in my garage ,, It's my Yoga , my relaxation.. People see fighting as a brutal ugly activity that hurts or kills people , Which of course can and will happen. But I see it as an Art Form. and a sense of relaxation that always will be part of my life.. To those poor souls I kicked your ass back then.. All I can say." What a fool to think you could be the little guy,, I don't feel sorry about beating you ass. Because you could of walked away..But your ego,, and the fact I was a 120 lbs short skinny kid ,, Asian persuasion made you think ,, I can whip this boy,, The last laugh was on you,, But those were different days,, no video games , play stations , DVDs etc.. It was a day and age where you had to manufacture fun,.. Either by tricking people into boxing you , or using rocks and sticks as toys or using your imagination to get you through those long summer's in South San Diego.. One thing is for sure , the nights at Luckie Waller Park or the Wing or the Pits .. Roberto's taco shop or The IB pier will always be fun times I will never forget , and if theirs a heaven , reliving those days at those spots would make eternity the greatest thing.. ha,... but for now ,, Just the memories I write about and the many photos I see on face book is what we have.. and I'm thankful to all my FB friends and keep the photos and ideas coming so I can continue our journey down memory lane.. Take care.. THE SOURCE PRODUCTIONS @ 2011
