MID LIFE CRISIS?! based on actual events from someone I know..
What is Mid life crisis? It's when someone hits the half way point of life. Think about it average life span is what 72 - 76 YEARS of age. That's a healthy person , now take away years of smoking , years of heavy drinking , years of military stress , lack of sleep , not eating right , high blood pressure , mental duress , sadness , traumatic events, take away 5 - ten years , now that puts you at 71 - 66 years of age. So, when a person hits their 40's it's a clear indication you have lived a major part of your life. I mean the teenage years , the prime years of athlectic ability , sexual activity.. The next twenty years or so , is down hill.. I mean things don't improve , your health gets worst , you lose hair, you feel aches and pains , you get wrinkles, memory starts to play tricks on you , your vision or perspective on life is set. What happens, well you begin to recall the teenage days, the reckless behaviour , harsh comments , the hyper ness the in patience of personality. Its really hard to see a good person become a teenager again, he or she feels young again, tries to act young , in reality , they are in denial, they are fearful of their immortality , the end is not near but its getting there. You see your kids grown up you see your nieces and nephews as adults , you see life passing you by. For a person in this crisis , they cant or wont accept the fact , time is flying by. They dictate their wants and needs based on what they always wanted instead of what they need. They want to hang on to youth , even though they see the wrinkles and scars on their faces , age spots growing larger and larger. What is a person to do ? I mean its a phase just like any other in life , but I feel this phase is the most troublesome because life is hitting its peak. Foe those us , its scary. I know alot of us still try to maintain our health, by exercising , getting rest , but we all know father time has no mercy. The years of working out , running , staying out in the sun , or dieting , all affect us in a bad and a good way. The stressors we put our bodies , betrays us in our older years. I know I feel more pain now than ever in my life. It takes longer to recover after a work out and when we do get hurt , it takes a while to recover. Life is cruel, it has no heart , it doesn't care if you didn't mean to stress your heart , or body in our younger years, once the damage is done, its done.. The only way to stop or control damage to organs is to stop drinking , smoking , but that takes years, How much time do we have? Personally , I don't really want to know because , imagine if we did , we would be miserable up until the day we died.. Its better that we don't know.. We Mid lifers need to take hold of ourselves and enjoy each day. I know we are inpatient with the new generation and we often say mean things , but life experiences has affected our perspective. For those folks seeing their loved ones going through this , may say " its heart breaking to see and experience because at times the words they say or write hurt more than punch or kick to the face. What to do? Be patient , be understanding , be flexible.. Be ware!! The saying " Love kills slowly !" that's true in regards to any activity you partake in. Love of alcohol . love of sports love of thyself. if controlled it can help you deal with the issues of life.. If uncontrolled it can consume you and ultimately kill you one way or another. At times the hardest thing to control is something you cant see or touch or even feel. The Mid life Crisis is that thing you cant hold in a container or take a picture of . Its simply how a person carries him or herself in dealing with their fear life is running down.. That father time guy has no mercy and when he comes calling , none of us stands a chance..
