HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY 2011!
This a paid holiday for federal employees, but did you know certain states don't celebrate this Italian discoverer's day. Hawaii , Alaska and South Dakota. Why ? Perhaps because of his cruel treatment of American Indians. The argument is that Columbus brought civility , production and ambition to a wild , uncivilized , mystical society. Well , whatever the case , As a federal employee I enjoy the day off, because any day away from work is a great day and anytime you can stay home and do things like video games , exercising , sleeping is always a life enhancing event.
