Charger News- March ,2017.. Free Agent Frenzy...

The Chargers .2017...
   I'm still upset the San Diego  Chargers of 55 years left for Los Angeles..or Carson for 2 years.I Mean going to a soccer stadium holding 27,000 and charging 2-3 times more for tickets .. is ridiculous especially the team has been a loser for most of the 55 years .. Good luck getting La fans to buy in.. I mean The Dodgers, Lakers , Trojans and Bruins are ell established and lets not forget the raiders.. But done is done now. back to business.

   The Chargers resign Addae,,, good move hes the hit man in that secondary,, he also helps or inspires Lowery to play better. I still think they need a safety either in the draft or through free agency.. 
   The Chargers let go of Danny Woodhead.. Man.. I love that guy short stout and smart but a bit injury prone.. But the Chargers are stacked in running back squad.. Gordon , Williams , Oliver and Hillman might be the starting line up already.. 

  Signing of Russel Okung was great , a bit of trivia he won Super bowls with the Seatte Seahawks and Denver Broncos respectively,, lets see if that magic rbs off,, doubt it , but wishful thinking.. He did say Gordon reminding him of Marshawn Lynch,, wow,!!, That's a great compliment , but lets see if that's true as much as I like Gordon , he has failed to play a full season... Ah.. how LT spoiled Charger fans, by always playing.. .. ok.. 

  Letting go of fluker, a bit confused on that one, probably more business minded then playing ability.. because he signed with the contending NY Giants. who are making great moves.. The signing of Brandon Marshall was awesome.. That team is stacked on offense and remember they swept the cowboys last year.. 

Now the Chargers also let go of Stevie Johnson and Brandon flowers.. not surprised they are aging vets that demand higher salaries,,, Plus both has under performed despite their past greatness. Now the Chargers need to make other decisions.. like Manti teo , or drafting another defensive linemen to help bosa. Just a reminder they are turning into a 4--3 defense. I like Bosa, Ingraham and Mebane.. but we need another strong rusher .. 

  So far a average rate on their moves.. I'm more eager about the April Draft.. Like drafting Peppers with the 7 th pick or even Mike Williams at wide receiver.. I also Like Juju Smith from USC.. that could spark interest from the LA market.. or better ,yet Grab Adore Jackson from USC.. hes was a beast with his corner back play ,he;s wide out plays and special teams td's..  He could draw people in to that small venue in Carson.. Are the chargers making the right moves.. It looks like it. But time will tell the chargers have many holes to fill like Offensive guards, a safety , faster running backs and  yes a quarterback for the future.. We still have issues on special teams , the kicker and punter are average at best and need work.. They cost the chargers a few games with missed kicks and bad punts. Yes the chargers lost alot of games by a score or less, but that's the NFL.. you have to be consistent in playing and coaching.. I'm holding judgement on the coaching staff. But hiring another inexperienced Head Coach and a defensive coordinator from Jacksonville.. check their record out they were losers.. and changing the defensive scheme? Doesn't look like a formula for winning next year.  They the chargers have a tough schedule and playing the Broncos , Chiefs and Raiders , could mean another long season.. They only beat one team from that group and thats because the head coach was sick and Mike Mccoy was able to out coach the special teams coach.. barely... Well charger fans. reality is.the chargers are rebuilding.. and it might take awhile , kind of like the Raiders.. the chargers are now the raiders of the past. Old team, with a slow quarterback and a inconsistent receiving corps and a aging tight end.. The defense is actually fun to watch as they center their scheme around Joey Bosa... But if the chargers don't play better on offense.. and special teams expect another 5-11 year or worst.. Another year of key injuries to their stars like Allen or Oliver or the offensive line.. Or losing Verret at corner could make this season hard to watch.. But so far so good and Lets see if any.. more free agent moves they make. May you have a great day and night and always take care!!
