   Is this a special day ? I mean in a mathematical way it is. How about life wise? The news reports , crime, and violence and how twisted some people are? I mean the other day a Congress woman and her supporters were shot down by someone who simply disagrees with their points of view.. Too bad he didn't work at ASD ,, haha, bad joke or is it? Lets face it every where you go and every where you've been you've seen the ass kissers and brown nosers get advanced. It doesn't matter you know the job better than they do or you work harder. You forget the old boy system the buddy pal of mine system. Who you know and who you blow? Today's Navy is very much like that , if you don't think so , then you need to wake up and smell the roses. Today's leadership is so caught up in looking good and being perceived in a powerful and good light. If you embarrass them or diminish their power they are insulted and will never forgive you. Don't even try to change their minds your wasting your time. Trust me , I have tried all my career trying to convince ass holes that you don't need to treat people like shit to get jobs done. But guess what today's leaders don't want to be liked or respected , they want power , they want you to do what they want. respect to them is getting advanced no matter what the expense. If you don't like it tough , I'm higher rank than you , I have higher pay grades to attain. In their minds, they feel why should i treat a lower rank person with respect. I wasn't respected on my way you , I was treated shitty. So , in their small minded way they like to keep the cycle going. A endless cycle of coercion, threats , harsh statements and guidelines. Conventional wisdom or common sense I like to say is " Learn from that and leave it behind , break the cycle. I was treated harshly in my early navy life, and yes I was bitter , still am. but guess what I still treat my peers with respect , unless you are a dirt bag , loser and lazy ass. Then of course I don't like you, who would? I like to have a tasking , complete it and post for the day. Like it is on my new command. The current LPO / ALPO who I will be relieving soon , as soon as my schooling and On the job training is done. I will keep that idea going. Why? Anyone who has been to sea duty, all those early days in port , will be made up underway.. because where are you gonna go? You stuck  on a ship with the same food , bad people and bad smells. Yes, the smells you experience on a ship , are only produced on the ship. It's the smell of the ship , oil , gas, bad food , burnt oil , sewer , piss , shit you name it , you smell it. My wife always tells me shower before you interact with us. The Smell folks,.. it the smell of hell - The Ship life. I know I have only spent one day on board, but all the bad feeling of ship life came back,, and We haven't gone underway yet.. Well that's coming as soon as my school is done. Am I ready..? No , you never get used to it , you learn to tolerate ship life. But I find ways to cope , like writing working out and of course cracking jokes. You always need someone , and I plan to be that one..I know right now upper command likes me,.but who knows once I get settled in.. One week , two weeks a month , who knows , but I will definitely set my mark here. I mean , Ive been challenged by dirt bags and yelled at by Chiefs that are concerned about their work space.. Yes, lesson learned people are very protective of their work spaces, well they have the divos and other upper chain to impress. Like I said earlier it's all about impressions and feeling important. The ship life everyone is fighting for attention and recognition , no matter what the cost to you as a person. You are too sensitive and can't take rants , then stay off the ship or better yet get out of the navy. This new navy is heading towards a very political philosophy, and if you don't go along , you don't get along. I see they have ideas or intentions for me , so I'm prepared, I have to be , Ive always been chosen to clean up divisions that have weak LPO's.. But because I don't play the ass kissing game I get nothing but more work. But I'm not saying I'm, changing my ways , just adjusting to get what i want,, which is to stay out of trouble and finish my time on board and go on to another chapter in my life. In other words my great friends at ASD, just do the same. play the game. Do what needs to be done , because those in charge will make you suffer, like long working hours , PT after working hours , late Friday's.. Projects , and functions to make them look good. If you do want to challenge them , you need to do it right by having all your facts right and don't forget instructions. If you know how to fight , they cant get you.. But if you don't ,, you will suffer.. Final thoughts " You can't give something you don't have ?" EXPLAIN .. ok,. like repect , I like to earn my respect from my peers , others like to demand it , to get it , but that doesn't mean people respect you , its more fear than respect. Am I right? One more example , you can't love someone if you can't love yourself.. In other words , asking something from jerks off when they have no idea if what your asking is a exercise in futility,, Don;t do it.. Advice; Do your job , accept the reality of your situation and decide I will not let them over power me.. MIND OVER MATTER!" I DON'T MIND BECAUSE THEY DON'T MATTER!" Happiness is a state of mind and everyday I choose to be happy , those haters are not happy with their loser life that's why they can't stand when you laugh and smile and get along with one another! Its funny you can't teach cool , they think by trying to dress cool or saying certain cliques make them cool.. it's not , it;s just being a phony ass wanna be..
